With nothing better to do to pass the time V'demhe tried her hand at making a skirt once again. Now that Maha was settled under her feet she didn't have to worry about him ruining her stitch work. With a squint she threaded her needle, complete with a tongue sticking out for effort, then set to work on attaching two pieces of woven cloth. If she was measuring correctly then they were about the same length. Of course this was going off sight alone since she didn't want to get up and move around to find the measuring stick.

As she worked the needle in and out of the fabric she started to get antsy. The sitting still and trying to concentrate on the size of the stitches was getting to her. When she finally seemed to settle into a good rhythm Dem moved her feet over her familiar to give him generic belly rubs. This took her attention away from her current task and soon she pricked herself in the finger. After a hiss and a gnashing of her teeth she shook her hand and looked at the damage. A small bead of blood had appeared and it made her frown. Sticking her finger in mouth she glared at the needle that was half plunged into the makeshift skirt.

When the pain subsided she tried again. Only this time when she pricked her finger it went in a bit deeper, practically making her a part of the skirt. V'demhe hissed again and accompanied it with a curse to some moss or another while she pulled the sharp object out of her finger. Now with a throbing digit she threw the needlework to the side and huffed. Apparently she wasn't going to be able to make anything without first putting her blood into it. The woman grumbled and shifted to get to her feet. There was no point in trying to sew again since the next time the needle would likely go through her finger. So instead she walked outside to get some fresh air. Maybe after taking a break she would be able to come back to her small project and actually finish it.
