Team Rocket
Giovanni is the head of Team Rocket and was once the Gym Leader of Viridian City, but he is currently retired since Blue defeated him and took his place after losing his champion spot to Red.
Team Rocket never disbanded, and therefore there is no Neo Team Rocket.
Team Rocket was, and has always been, at large, pulling robberies and schemes to attain wealth and power, but there are always groups of police and trainers pushing them back down, so they have never really been able to get as far as world domination.
The Game Corner in Celadon is owned by Team Rocket and their hideout does exist underground there.
Rocket's Game Canon plots such as robbing Sliph Co or temporarily taking over the Johto Radio Tower to force Magikarp to evolve in Lake of Rage have occurred, and they continue to pull off little schemes like this all over Kanto and Johto.
Team Rocket did fund the study and research that ended up making Mewtwo, but they lost control, and Giovanni is still searching for the legendary and it's whereabouts.

Team Galactic
Cyrus is the head of Team Galactic, while Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and Charon are it's more well known commanders. Team Galactic was never able to find Mesprit, Uxie, or Azelf, the Red Chain was never forged, therefore Cyrus never summoned Dialga and/or Palkia, and was never pulled into the Distortion World. Their HQ remains in Veilstone City, heavily guarded.
The group does frequent the three lakes, Acuity, Valor, and Verity, as well as Mt Coronet, and the ruins by Celestic and Soleceon Town, constantly in search of clues of the timespace legends, lake trio, and spear pillar.
Team Galactic has on multiple accounts been noted to harass Professor Rowan and the Valley Windworks by Floaroma Town. One of Sinnoh's well known interpol agents, Looker, has been known to follow closely in the gang's footsteps, asking witnesses questions and for assistance in his investigations.

Team Plasma
Team Plasma is unlike most villainous teams, their acclaimed leader, N, is a kind and mysterious individual who is pure of heart and only wishes that pokemon be free and happy. Make no mistake however, the true mastermind behind Team Plasma is Ghetsis, who orchestrates the events, as well as the Seven Sages, Colress, and the Shadow Triad. Team Plasma's goal is to liberate pokemon from their trainers, and they use a variety of methods to achieve this, some of which are perfectly legal, such as renting out lots for their speeches and rallies to convince people to release their own pokemon. However, Team Plasma has also been known to harass unwilling trainers and steal their pokemon.
Team Plasma has not divided into two separate sects, N never found a dragon stone, and Ghetsis did not splice Kyurem with Reshiram or Zekrom. There are those who are more loyal to N, and those who are more loyal to Ghetsis however.

Team Skull
Team Skull has overrun Po Town and uses it as their base. They have no affiliation with any other groups, and are run by their Big Bad Boss Guzma. They have no particular goals other than by causing trouble, which can include stealing other people's pokemon and selling them off, stealing bus stops and defacing property. Many of them are individuals who failed the Island Trials.
Aether Foundation
Lusamine is still the leader of Aether Foundation, but is not looking to release the Ultra Beasts into this world. Aether Foundation's goal is to conserve and save pokemon, particularly those that are endangered and prey to over predation, both human and pokemon alike. As such, they are still looking into Ultra Beasts and assisting Professor Burnet in her research to help protect people and pokemon from these dangerous creatures. In the process, they have created Type: Null and Beast Balls to help subdue, capture, and study UB's.
They have several bases stationed across Alola, such as a trailer on Route 16 and the Aether House on Route 15. Their central base is the Aether Paradise, an artificial island where they have a conservation area, and technology prevents pokeballs from working.
