Twinkletoes yawned and stretched while halfway flopping over on her branch. The hustle and bustle within was starting to grow and resound in the tree. The sound of it alone being a decent alarm clock to start the day.
However, her own active muse was sluggish this morning. The depression of the situation was finally weighing on her. Despite the reassurance of her father, and even her aunt, it did little to perk her spirits. She still felt responsible for the mayhem that sent Faroth to the roots. She'd likely be over it (again) later... but something about waking up to the recollection of the previous days' actions... well...
She groaned faintly and flopped over so that she was draped over the branch's smaller end. Her hooves and arms lazily reaching towards the island ground far below. Her wings outstretched and then flopped, looking as though she had crashed to the branch and just kinda flopped there to recover. The only giveaway was her tail which idly twitched in the lazy effort to try and mask the rising sounds from below.

The morning sun was already high in the sky when the dark pegasus took flight. Her dark fur absorbed the light, the warmth more soothing to her than she'd like to admit. She'd been gripped by chills before and not just from the early morning jaunt itself. This was deeper than just the cooling breeze that played over her fine-furred skin. She wanted to go hide away, curled up under a blanket and retreating from the rest of the world for as long as possible. The next best option would be to share the solitude that Twinkle usually enjoyed up in Laisidhiel's branches. At the moment, she much preferred her sister's possible company to that of any certain land-bound Faun. Clearly he would have no reason to go up there. The land-bound Faun weren't nearly as comfortable up in the branches as their winged brethren.
It didn't take long for Moonlight to spot her sister in the branches. Even with tired, stinging, blurry eyes, the blue grey and cream colors of her sister's coat stood out against the earthy greens and browns. Or perhaps it was some underlying sibling connection that drew her to her sister's place of relaxation. Whatever it was, she felt a sense of relief at noting that no one else seemed to be around other than her sibling. Good. Moonlight came in to land, shifting the flapping of her wings to slow her speed, so that she only took a few steps along the branch before halting. Automatically, she was attemping to mute her movements, her voice shifting to a far softer volume.
"Hey, sis. Mind if I find a nice warm, quiet place to curl up out here with you? Kinda' late in the morning for me and I'm sure the Tree is all noisy and active by now and I'm beat." She tried to keep her tone light, implying nothing was the matter. Clearly she'd just been out for a flight before heading to bed and was out a bit later than planned. She punctuated the inquiry with a yawn, followed by a sheepish half-smile.

As her sister neared, an ear had been steady on the incoming sound of flapping feathers. She didn't hear that particular beating sound often, but when she did, it often put a soothing smile on her lips. She turned her head slowly as Moony came in for a landing and yawned as well while nodding.
"Be my guest." she half whispered, half murmured back.
She rolled over, giving her sister more room against the trunk of the tree and now seeming to be unceremoniously draped on the branch like laundry. Hooves continued to dangle. Back was now arched and exposed her belly. Wings, hair, and arms all flailing downward towards the ground. I minor reminder that gravity was still a thing.
Still. Lately, this had been how she spent her days. Flopped carelessly over branches, trying to rid herself of her self pity and trying to coax herself into believing she'd done the right thing. Her father and her aunt had tried - her father nearly every day - to convince her otherwise. Hard to do when the blame is so easily noticed to fall directly on one's self.
It was in this draped position that Twinkle noticed the sun. It was... pretty high up for Moony to be out and about. It was late morning already! Moony was nocturnal! Or so she thought. Her brow furrowed slightly and she turned her head to look at Moony as she settled. She could smell faint traces of the tree on her which suggested she'd been out most of the morning already. And judging by her face, she had had a rough morning already.
Twinkle curled her body upwards to a sit then stretched a bit before looking over Moony a little more directly. Eyes shifting over her sister's figure, analyzing her state, her face, her... well.. she guessed vibe would be the best word for it? Something was wrong. Her sister needed more than just a branch to sleep on.
"What's the matter, Moony." she started softly. If anything, she had hoped her concern would shine through more than her rising worry.
