STUBBORN
xxx»» More than anything else, when asked for a word to describe Kenneth, his friends always seem to come up with stubborn (although most of them would use more colorful language). He tends to think of it as a good thing, proof that he sticks to his guns and can stand up to obstacles, but it's gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
METHODICAL
xxx»» Rather than try to change how stubborn he is, Kenneth's method of dealing involved simply thinking things through very slowly and very carefully before he ever made a decision on how he acts, what he does, or what he thinks. He can come across as a bit slow at times (and, alright, can be slow at times), but generally it's just because he's taking his time observing all the angles and considering all the options so that he can make the best decision.
THOUGHTFUL
xxx»» Kenneth will almost always put another person's needs before his own, even if that person is a complete stranger. He sacrifices everything for the people he cares about and will do just about anything to make a sad person smile. He goes out of his way to help others, doing whatever necessary to help.
TEMPERAMENTAL
xxx»» Seemingly at odds with Kenneth's slow take on most things is his temper; one of the reasons he's worked so hard to force himself to think things through is because he's found himself more than once caught in a situation where he blew his top over something and later found out he was wrong. For the most part, he's gotten better, but there are a few buttons people can push that'll get him hot under the collar quick, and he's almost guaranteed to blow when that happens.
PLAYFUL
xxx»» He's a very easy-going guy; he likes to party and have a good time. He's not without his limits, but for the most part, his idea of a good night involves a bonfire at the lake and pulling drunken pranks on his drunk friends. He's prone to teasing and making self-deprecating jokes, all in the name of a good time. Generally, his solution to any problem is to get a nice buzz going and make jokes about it until it doesn't seem so awful anymore. While this doesn't always work, it at least manages to make him feel better.
CHIVALROUS
xxx»» Kenneth was raised a good Southern boy by his mother, and he knows how to treat a lady. He holds doors open, pulls out chairs, and is generally there as a helping hand whenever any woman needs help. This generosity extends to men as well, but usually he'll want a favor in return, or at least a beer. But, his general attitude towards women is that, yeah, they're just as good as we are, but they're much prettier and much sweeter, so why not help them out? He doesn't look down on them in the slightest; he believes in taking care of them because he wants too, not because they need it.

CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Kenneth was the firstborn son of Joseph Holt, the only child from his first marriage to Mary Anne Holt. His father, originally from Britain, met Mary, a muggle, while in Tennessee on a holiday, and fell in love. Eventually, he moved to America and married her. Their household was incredibly open and filled with love and Southern charm, complete with fried home cooked meals and trips to the Grand Ole Opry.
SCHOOL YEARS
xxx»» Just before Kenneth went away to school at age seven (customary for students attending magical schools in America), his mother grew ill. She passed away during his first year at Pre-Wiz school. He was always grateful for this turn of events, seeing as he was quite disturbed by how his father described his mother appearing during her illness, which contributed to his deep-seated fear of growing deathly ill. In school, he was a gifted student, although at times he seemed a bit slow, as he had to take careful time to consider what he was learning to properly benefit from it. While he was at school, his father would return to Britain to be with his family rather than be alone. He met his second wife, Allison, during one of these visits. The pair fell in love and married quickly. Rather than being resentful of her father for moving on so quickly, Kenneth recognized it as a fear of being alone, a trait they shared. When Kenneth was 11, his younger half-brother Elliott was born. From then on, the family would spend their Summers in America to be with Kenneth and return to Britain in the fall.
ADULTHOOD
xxx»» After graduating, Kenneth got a job as a chef, and spent his free time hanging out and partying with friends. Unlike some of his friends, he was always responsible, keeping the parties as reasonable as possible and preventing things from getting out of hand. When he was nineteen, he received word that his father and step-mother had both died in an accident, and that the issue of his brother's guardianship was being looked over by the court. He immediately left to Britain, living in the family estate, a move which became permanent when he was named his brother's guardian. He has since used family money to purchase The Magic Neep, a green grocer's in Hogsmeade Village in Scotland. He would've liked to get a job as a chef, but his limited knowledge of British cuisine made this seem like a bad idea. For his part, he is thankful for the job he has, as it saves him from working nights and gives him access to fresh goods to use when cooking for his brother. The pair, while affectionate with one another, are still rather unused to one another. The difference in their upbringing and cultures were obvious and occasionally difficult, but Kenneth was determined to do as best he could with his brother.
xxx»» After moving to England, Kenneth met a Hogwarts student named Verily. The pair formed an easy friendship, with Ver frequenting his shop on the weekends she was permitted out of the castle. Once she had graduated, they grew closer, their relationship eventually growing romantic.
xxx»» While things with Verily were generally pretty simple, things with his brother were not. While out in London one day, they came across a boy Elliott recognized from school, in some sort of confrontation with a man. The pair quickly realized there was more to the situation than was being let on, and conned the man into letting Jesse come with them. Then, they strong-armed Jesse into remaining with them instead of returning 'home', and Jesse became a part of the family. Things were rocky with him, given his past, but Ken felt it was important to keep him somewhere safe. Meanwhile, he and Elliott developed feelings for one another, and eventually started dating, which was rife with its own problems, which Ken more or less stayed out of for their own good and his own sanity.
xxx»» The Summer before their final year of school Jesse went missing, and when Elliott eventually found him, it was obvious he'd been through something traumatic. Ken never got the details, but he was as supportive as he could manage. Meanwhile, Ken and Verily, married a couple years before, had a child, their daughter Sawyer. Juggling dealing with Jesse's problems and the baby proved challenging, but the family worked it out as best they could. Once the boys had graduated, a new problem presented itself, as Jesse's best friend Jojo had also gone missing. Ken still isn't entirely sure what happened with that situation, he only knows that the girl was eventually found and that the boys refuse to talk about it. Shortly after that, Elliott moved into the flat above Ken's shop to 'get some space' from Jesse, a move which Ken told him was idiotic but he went through with anyway. They presumably worked things out, but not before Ken was left with an empty liquor cabinet and a lot of questions he didn't want the answers to.
xxx»» Living in Hogsmeade, Jesse happened across a Hogwarts student who reminded them all a little too much of him when he'd been that age, who was clearly in dire straits. The boy was accompanied by a young girl, and Ken's paternal instinct took over. Using years of navigating Jesse's nonsense, he figured out a way to talk Wren into Anwen living with him and Verily, and into staying with them as well over the holidays.

xxx»» Elliott was always a quiet child, particularly after the death of his parents. In general, people bother him; he finds most to be boring, or annoying, and doesn't care to focus any energy on either sort. For the most part, he's happiest alone, though there are a few rare exceptions, people he finds to be pleasant company as opposed to draining his energy and patience.
QUICK-TEMPERED
xxx»» One of the only traits Elliott shares with his older brother is his temper; while he has a longer fuse than Kenneth, when he does blow up, he blows big. He's a very emotional person, and tends to try to channel most negative emotions into anger, rather than allowing himself to feel depressed or hurt. He tries to manage his temper, but it often slips anyway. He tries to stay emotionally distant from situations to prevent this, but it's not always possible for him to do so.
SHARP
xxx»» Elliott is sharp, particularly in his wit. He's never one to hold back a snappy comeback, and tends to respond to anything that annoys him by looking down his nose and trying to prove how smart he is. He thinks quickly on his feet and is good at working through problems. What he lacks in brawn he more than makes up for with his brains, and he never fails to put them to good use. As far as he's concerned, knowledge is power, and while he isn't power-hungry per say, he knows the value of being in control.
CURIOUS
xxx»» His love of books is born of a thirst to learn; he loves a good story, but he's also intrigued by knowledge. Practicality is always of interest, though he doesn't particularly mind learning something useless; it's important to him just because it's something he didn't already know. He absorbs new information like a sponge, and loves to find more. Whether or not he has need to or is capable of applying that knowledge is irrelevant; he just wants to know it.
MATURE
xxx»» Aside from his inability to keep his emotions in check, Elliott is very mature for his age. He speaks maturely, and knows how to handle most any situation maturely. So long as he is not directly involved in an altercation, he can usually mediate well, and is an excellent voice of reason. When he is involved, his emotions tend to get the better of him, but after it's all said and done, he's typically quick to see his error and apologize (and even manages not to hold it against them later).

xxx»» His parents deaths have took a toll on him. He doesn't see the point in looking on the bright side, since you're often just setting yourself up for disappointment. He refers to himself as a pessimistic realist; it's not that he thinks there is no good, he just believes it to be rare. More often than not, a situation will turn out for the worse, and he'd rather be braced for that to happen than shocked and emotionally traumatized.

CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Elliott was born the younger half-brother of Kenneth Liam Holt, son of Joseph and Allison Holt. Joseph had been married before, to an American woman named Mary Anne, with whom he had Kenneth, and the three of them lived in a small town in Tennessee. After Mary's death when Kenneth was seven, Joseph would return to his original home in England while his son was at school to be with his family, rather than remaining alone in his and Mary's home. During one of these trips, he met his second wife, Allison. The two fell in love and were married. Elliott was born when Kenneth was eleven, and again, while Kenneth was in school, his father, stepmother and half-brother would stay in England, returning to America during the Summer months. This continued until Kenneth graduated, and Elliott saw little of his brother from then until the year their parents died. There was a brief custody battle between Kenneth and a few of the older family members, but in the end, Elliott's older brother was named his guardian. Kenneth made his move to England permanent and used some of his inheritance to purchase a shop in Hogsmeade so that he could earn an income rather than live off his family's wealth, believing doing so would be lazy. Elliott, for his part, spent most of his time at home, being looked after by the two family House-Elves.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEAR »» Elliott was unsurprised to be sorted into Ravenclaw upon arriving at Hogwarts; he spent the majority of his first year with his head down and his nose in a book, either studying or reading. He did manage to make a couple of friends, much to his surprise.
SECOND YEAR »» Elliott's second year was entirely uneventful; the most notable thing that occurred was his developing an interest in the study of Mind Magic, and an unfortunate encounter with a certain annoying knight portrait while he attempted to study. Following the interaction, Sir Cadogan began to rather obsessively follow him around the castle, seemingly intent on annoying him to death. The knight seemed to insist that they were 'friends', much to his horror.
THIRD YEAR »» In the Summer before his third year, Elliott and his brother were out in London when they came across Jesse, a schoolmate of his, who was apparently running away from a man. Elliott and Kenneth interceded, and effectively kidnapped the boy away from the guy, Paul. Jesse spent the remainder of the Summer with them. His third year at school was mostly uneventful, aside from his befriending one of his housemates, Timothy Cherri, and being accosted by a girl in his year, Persephone Tempest. She came to him and told him that she was concerned for Jesse, who was apparently gay, and afraid that something bad would happen to him if Paul found out. Elliott shared her concern after she told him about what the other boy had said, and not-so-subtly manipulated his friend into staying with him again the following Summer.
FOURTH YEAR »» Elliott's fourth year was rather eventful, at least by his reasoning. Though, all that really happened was his asking Jesse out on a date. A date that, despite all odds, somehow apparently went rather well, and the pair became an official couple. Other than that, there wasn't much to really report, but he's still baffled enough by this turn of events that it warrants mentioning.
FIFTH YEAR »» On the way to the train station at the start of Summer, Hogsmeade was attacked by a group of wannabe Death Eaters. Elliott was mainly concerned with finding Jesse and getting him somewhere safe, but as they were trying to make it through the crowd, a younger student in Jesse's house tripped the Slytherin into a Cruciatus Curse. Elliott's temper got the better of him, and he proceeded to incapacitate the figure who'd cast the curse... and set him on fire... and then stunned the boy who'd tripped Jesse to begin with. The pair made it out mostly unscathed, though Elliott was understandably distressed at the fact that his boyfriend had been tortured to the point of passing out. The following school year was essentially a blur of studying for OWLs and the pair rewarding themselves for their diligence with regular snogging sessions in various broom closets.
SIXTH YEAR »» Over the Summer before sixth year, Elliott (unwillingly) attended a party with Jesse, Jesse's friend Jojo, and Jojo's boyfriend Kenny. They were supposed to be acting as chaperon's of a sort to Jojo, who suffered from severe anxiety, and to keep an eye on one another, since Jesse seemed paranoid about what might occur at the party. Upon arriving, Jojo decided the best course of action was to get plastered, and, in an attempt to get her to curtail her drinking, Elliott vowed to drink just as much as she did, thinking it would get her to slow down. Instead, she took it as a challenge, and he discovered he was far outmatched in terms of alcohol tolerance. By the end of the night, he was a clingy, affectionate mess of a drunk, which resulted in his confessing to Jesse that he loved him. Elliott was exceptionally displeased with himself when he received his OWL scores and discovered that he had only managed an EE in Healing. That the rest of his scores were perfect O's was of little consequence, he couldn't stop obsessing with that one error. He determined that, given the difficulty of NEWT exams, his best course of action would be to drop a few courses, so he could focus more attention on each lesson. When he began his sixth year, he also was finally able to attend the Mind Magic courses offered by the school, and found them to be rather easy. He chalked this up to having a strong understanding of the magic before he even began the class, figuring he'd already done most of the groundwork and was only really in the class for practice. That year, he and Jesse attended the Valentine's Day ball together, which began as something of an annoyance and ended up worse than he'd even considered, which was saying something. Elliott reacted negatively to Jesse teasing him over the Summer's drunken confession, and managed to scare Jesse by getting angry at him. Eventually, Elliott finally managed to get his boyfriend to tell him some of what had happened to him as a child that resulted in his issues, though not as much as Elliott would have liked.
SEVENTH YEAR »» Shortly into the summer before Elliott's last year of school, Jesse went missing. He spent most of the Summer obsessively searching for his boyfriend, all the while knowing that the odds of finding him were almost nonexistent, and harboring a suspicion that perhaps Jesse didn't want to be found. In spite of the improbability of it, he finally located the Slytherin, only to discover that he'd been kidnapped by his birth family, a wealthy pureblood family that had ditched him and erased his memories at age seven when they determined him to be a squib. The remainder of the holiday, and the early part of the school year, his attention was focused on helping Jesse's mental state reach some semblance of normalcy. They were doing well enough, though Elliott, being a pessimist, wasn't ever really convinced that things were improving all that much. Then, shortly into the second half of the year, Jojo went missing, presumably kidnapped by her grandfather, and Elliott's attention was further split between worry about Jesse, worry about Jojo, and studying for his exams. Regardless, he managed well enough on his exams to be eligible to apply as an Auror.
ADULTHOOD
xxx»» Immediately after graduating, Elliott put in his application, which was accepted easily enough, much to his relief. Once that was taken care of, his top priority was helping in the search for Jojo, which he fully intended to use the advantages of his position to do. Eventually Kenny stumbled across her, and discovered that something had been done to her mind so she didn't know who she was. A scheme was concocted to come to her rescue, which included Jesse assuming his birth name and allowing Lysandar to 'recruit' him. Elliott was very much against the plan, but knew that Jesse would go through with it regardless, and so roped Jojo's Auror friend Darcy Bennett into the loop so that they would have experienced help. Eventually Jesse was able to get them all into the keep where Lysandar and his group were holed up. There was a confrontation, resulting in Lysandar's death at Kenny's hands. They got Jojo to safety, and it was agreed that Darcy would claim he had been the one to kill Lysandar, so that Kenny didn't face any legal consequences. Of course, he and Elliott both faced repercussions in the office, but neither of them were fired, which was all that really mattered. Elliott used his legilimency to get into Jojo's head and assess what had been done. He discovered that her memories from when Lysandar had first snapped and killed her uncle and aunt had been removed, and replaced with false memories to make Lysandar seem like the good guy. He reversed the charm that had locked away her real memories, but wasn't confident in his ability to remove the false ones without damaging her mind, so they remained, resulting in a split personality.
xxx»» Once the matter with Jojo was settled, Elliott found himself free of distractions, which turned out to not be a very good thing. Given that they had graduated and were adults, Elliott began having some difficulty dealing with the limits Jesse's trauma had on their relationship's progress. He eventually decided to move out of the estate home in order to get some space. He was, essentially, trying to teach himself to repress any wants he might have that Jesse would be unable to fulfill. Unfortunately, Jesse attempted to find another solution, one that involved him getting drunk enough to try and ignore his own fears. Elliott ended up locking Jesse in his bedroom, and slept on the couch that night. In the morning, they discussed the situation, and resolved to communicate better moving forward.

xxx»» Clay doesn't necessarily have some huge moral hangup about lying. It's more like, he can't be bothered to do it nine times out of ten. He'd much rather just shoot straight with people than have to explain himself if he gets caught. Sometimes, he's a little too honest, and his mouth gets him in trouble. Mainly in bars, after he's had too much to drink. Luckily for him, he can hold his own better than he can hold his tongue.

xxx»» Contrary to what one might think, Clay isn't stupid. He's actually pretty sharp, picking things up fairly easily when they're explained to him. People tend to assume he's a dumb hick, and he's more than happy to humiliate them by proving them wrong. He's not a genius, of course, but to him, most things are pretty simple, once you take the time to pay attention. He's got a fine eye for detail, and is quick when processing information. He might act like an idiot when it suits him, but it's mostly an act.
INVENTIVE
xxx»» Clay grew up in a small country town, with a small country family, who didn't have a lot of money. That is to say, sometimes things broke, and they had to get creative with how to fix them, because the nearest store carrying the supplies was an hours drive away, and gas costs money. So do supplies. When his dad was around it wasn't a big deal, but he wasn't around much. Clay's grandfather taught him all sorts of creative solutions to problems, and that something wasn't broke until it was too broke for duct tape to fix it. As such, he tends to default to cheap, unorthodox solutions to his problems rather than going the traditional route.
STUBBORN
xxx»» If a man has nothing else, he should have his pride. Or, that's what his grandfather always said. Clay took it seriously, and unfortunately clings to his pride like nothing else. He's pretty set in his ways, which isn't so bad most of the time, but when he's about to do something stupid (which is often) on a dare or 'just 'cause', it can be difficult to talk him out of it. Likewise, he needs to be talked into borrowing money or accepting help, has to be convinced to buy something new instead of fixing what's broken for the thousandth time, and usually conned into doing anything he doesn't want to do.
PLAYFUL
xxx»» Clay grew up an only child, but his mama and grandparents never hesitated to make sure he was having a happy childhood. Generally speaking, they overcompensated for his dad walking out, trying to make sure he never felt like he was lacking. As a result, Clay grew up a little spoiled, and a lot reckless. He was generally allowed to do whatever he liked, as long as it wasn't too dangerous. Unfortunately, once he was in school, 'too dangerous' got difficult to define, and he did whatever he wanted when he was away from home. He likes to spend time rough-housing with friends, pulling stupid stunts, and generally having a good time, no matter what consequences he might face the next day. He's also very affectionate with his closest loved ones, teasing them and cracking jokes to make them smile.
AMIABLE
xxx»» Generally speaking, Clay likes everyone until they give him a reason not to. He's quick with a smile, likes to make small talk, and is a fairly easy-going fellow most of the time. He wants people to feel comfortable and happy as often as possible, so if he can find a way to do that for them while they're in his presence, he will. Unless you have a viewpoint that greatly differs from his own, on a subject that's very important to him, he's quite easy to get along with. His mother says he's never met a stranger in his life; Clay says they just don't stay strangers for long.

CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Annalise Walker was part of a rather large family, not that you would've known it. Her father had a penchant for proposing too soon, and didn't care much to fight to save his marriages. She had a younger half-sister, Mary, who was one of the few siblings she was ever close to. The pair had a falling out, unfortunately, but not before Mary introduced Annalise to Emmerich Troy, a friend of her husband's. Annalise and Emmerich hit it off and began a relationship, but Emmerich traveled a lot for work. When she came up pregnant, he vanished off the face of the Earth.
xxx»» Annalise tried her best with her son Clay, but they struggled a lot. Eventually she moved to her stepfather's farm, figuring having some help with the boy, as well as a stable roof over their heads without threat of eviction, was the best decision. She penned an angry letter to Clay's father when the boy was three, railing at him for abandoning them. She regretted sending it, until the checks started coming. She didn't like using the money on principle, but reasoned that if she could've gotten the b*****d to court, that's what she would've gotten anyway.
xxx»» Clay didn't meet his father until he was six; his mother had written a letter to Emmerich, detailing some strange goings-on at Clay's school, all seemingly centered around his son. She'd written him now and again over the years, supposing if the man was going to give them money he may as well hear about the boy, since he must care at least a little. The family was floored when Emmerich showed up; at first, Clay's grandfather refused to let him see the boy, but Emmerich convinced Annalise and her mother that it was important that he talk to his son. Annalise sat with Clay as his father questioned him about the odd occurrences. He determined that, like him, his son was a wizard. He filled Annalise in on the magical world, and promised to handle Clay's schooling. After that point, he was a much more active part of his son's life, though his actual presence was still minimal.
SCHOOL YEARS
xxx»» Clay, for his part, didn't find magical school any more interesting than muggle school. He made decent grades, courtesy of being smart by default, but generally didn't ever find anything particularly interesting about magic itself. When asked what he wanted to do for a living, he usually shrugged and said something about working on his grandfather's farm, or being an auto-mechanic. He didn't discover anything that really held any interest for him until he was thirteen, and his grandmother started teaching him her old family recipes over the Summer. Cooking, he found, was exciting and relaxing all at once, and allowed him to stretch his creative muscles in a way that he'd never considered. It wasn't long before he was experimenting in the kitchen, reading everything he could about food from other cultures and new and interesting ways to combine flavors.
xxx»» Of course, he likes to say nothing interesting happened to him, his whole life, until he was fourteen. That year at school, he was at a Quodpot match, Coyote v. Chameleon, cheering on his buddy Jose, when he noticed a rather pretty older girl cheering on the Chameleon team. Being somewhat bored, seeing as he was only there to cheer Jose on and not out of any real interest in the sport, Clay made it a personal game to try and cheer louder than the (rather enthusiastic) girl. Apparently, she caught on, because each time he got louder, so did she. By the end of the game, he could barely talk, but that didn't stop him from asking her on a date, 'to discuss the game.' To his surprise (she was two years older than him, after all), she said yes. Even more surprising was when she approached him not long after to ask him on a second date. He didn't quite get why, since she'd said no when he'd suggested it, but wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. They continued seeing each other for a while, and eventually he found out that she had a habit of making dares with her best friend. Among those dares was her going on dates with him. By that point, though, she was genuinely enjoying his company and seeing him by her own choice, so he decided to be smug that he'd gotten a sixteen year old to like him as opposed to offended that she'd been basically playing with him.
ADULTHOOD
xxx»» Clay graduated from school with little of note, aside from his continued relationship with Denise, which had prevailed despite numerous bets against them (which he happily collected money on). He worked his grandfather's farm for a bit, then eventually figured that if he wanted to be able to afford a wedding ring, he should get an actual job. He started out working the kitchen of his home town's only diner, eventually building up enough experience to get the chance to impress some people at some job interviews until he got hired on at a couple fairly successful restaurants. It took some time, but he managed to save up enough (and build up enough of a reputation) that he was able to get a ring and a job near Denise's home. He didn't even tell her he was coming, just showed up at her place, rang the doorbell, and was on one knee when she answered the door. Of course, he had to introduce himself to her father and convince the man he wasn't a complete jerk, but eventually he got the blessing and they got married.
xxx»» Things were going pretty well for the pair, nothing exciting, but that was fine by Clay. Unfortunately, the universe seemingly heard him saying as much, and decided to shake things up in the worst of ways. They got news that Denise's sister and her husband had been in a horrible car accident. Neither had survived, leaving the couple's two boys orphaned. Clay didn't even have to be convinced of what to do, the second his wife suggested adopting the boys, he was all for it, even if it meant moving to the UK, of all places. Better to uproot himself and his wife than two kids who'd just lost their parents, he figured. The got some money together, and managed to purchase The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade village. The top floor of the Inn was converted into a decent-sized apartment, and the inn and bar were open for business.

xxx»» Dixie Lynn has a lot of energy. So much so that it's hard to figure out where it all comes from. From sunup to sundown she is going, going, going, and anything that forces her to stop is unacceptable. She doesn't seem to have an off switch so much as a pause. She can sit still and be quiet when she needs to, but the aftermath usually results in her running laps or doing cartwheels to let off the excess she built up during that period. Having her in a small, enclosed space for too long is enough to drive her batty.
ENTHUSIASTIC
xxx»» When Dixie is interested in something, she's all in. She's liable to become an overnight expert on something that catches her attention, and will spend the next day talking the ears off of anyone who'll listen about it. This principle applies to her hobbies, her studies, and her friends. She's the person who'll remember something you mentioned offhandedly to her once, six years ago, and will surprise you by remembering it on your birthday.
CAPABLE
xxx»» Dixie was taught from birth to always look out for herself. Not because she can't rely on others, but because it's important to be able to rely on yourself when they're not there. She's good at solving her own problems, and rarely has to ask for help. Unfortunately, when she does need help with something, she'll often stubbornly refuse to ask for it. She tends to instead find a less-than-perfect solution that she can accomplish on her own. Sometimes this works out alright, but sometimes she ends up having to backtrack and do it over again.
MOTIVATED
xxx»» What Dixie wants, Dixie intends to get. She doesn't care how hard she has to work for it, what she has to endure, if it's important to her, she's going to figure it out. She suffers a fair bit from tunnel-vision, often forgetting what other things are important in the face of something she thinks needs to be done. It's incredibly hard to distract her from whatever task she's on.
COMPETITIVE
xxx»» Dixie likes to win. A surefire way to get her interested in something is to make it a competition. Who can run the fastest, who can catch the most fish, who can finish the book first, etc. It's certainly something her parents have abused in order to get her to do things they want. They're not above turning something into a game to get her involved. If she can beat her brother at it, all the better. The downside being that, if she loses, she tends to challenge him to a rematch and won't let it go until she wins.
HONEST
xxx»» Saying that Dixie values the truth is a bit of a stretch; it's more that she has no verbal filter. She tends to say whatever is on her mind, consequences be damned. Also, lying is complicated, and she doesn't see the point in doing it. It's much easier to remember the truth, so she doesn't bother with lying. It's something of a blessing and a curse. She gets in plenty of trouble because she's always the first to admit she did something wrong. But, because people value honesty, her punishment is usually slackened, if not forgotten about altogether, since she was honest about it.

xxx»» Dixie Lynn is the second-born child of Clay and Denise Walker, but her brother Bobby Ray is only older than her by, like, fifteen minutes, so she insists it doesn't really count. She insists on proving her overall equality to her brother at all times, competing with him constantly by proving anything he can do, she can do better. She spent her early years acquiring many a bump and bruise, and even broken bones, trying to show that she was just as good, if not better, than him and any- and everything.
xxx»» Other than the trouble she got herself into, she doesn't think she had a particularly interesting childhood. The most interesting thing to happen outside of her and her brother's shenanigans was whatever the heck her cousin Akira got up to, which she was frequently sticking her nose into. She loves her cousins and, when not busy with her brother, would trail after them obsessively. When her brother went off to school without her, she took to abusing the floo to pester them as much as possible. When she got in trouble over it, she just shrugged and said she was trying to stay out of her parent's way at work.
