After making it back to Matori she decided that she wanted to see about getting a snaptrotter. Mostly because she thought they would be better to have for her children than a Janarim. If Ascale was any indication anyways.
So she set out to find herself one of the large beasts and was rewarded when she found one. Dem didn't wait for it to notice she was there. Instead she went directly for it and started attacking. If she could weaken it then she would have a better chance at taming it. And from the looks of it her surprise was gaining her the upper hand. Even though it snapped at her and tried to retaliate V'demhe made sure to avoid those large jowls.
This time she didn't bother with speaking to the beast as she had so many others in the past. Dem thought that if she were to act too cocky then she would lose her center of focus and eventually lose out on a potential familiar. And that was something that she didn't want to risk, especially if she could give this beast to one of her daughters.
When she noticed the tail end of the snaptrotter coming her way she tucked and rolled out of the way as quickly as she could. Luckily it seemed she was on her game today. Popping back up Dem brought her blades toward the over sized animal with the dull side pointing down. V'demhe wanted to stun it so that she could try to wrangle it in.

When her hit landed she was sure that she had stunned it enough to be able to capture it. Dem took a deep breath and put each of her blades away one at a time. Once they were safely stored and out of her hands she looked over the beast, trying to decide whether or not it would be out for a decent amount of time so she could work on tying it down.
It's breathing seemed even enough so she guessed that it would be alright. V'demhe moved away so that she could get the rope she had brought along with her and had dropped before the initial attack. Once it was in her hand she turned back to the snaptrotter and started to get closer. Then all of a sudden the beast opened it's eyes and was on it's feet looking angrier than ever before. Dem narrowed her eyes at it and waited to see what it was going to do. She was fully prepared to fight again. However, taking that into account, the beast turned as fast as it was able and ran off.
A growl was all that was heard from Dem as she watched the beast move away. She could have gone after it but decided not to. The Alkidike needed to come up with a better way to subdue the beasts.
