Profile:

Ophila is sweet, excitable, and very hard working. She likes to make sure the people around her enjoying themselves, even if just for that moment, and as a result, tries to be amiable as possible. As much as she doesn’t like violence, and it can be pretty upsetting sometimes, she’s accepted it as part of daily life. At least, others' daily life; she tries to avoid it as much as possible. As such, she worries a great deal about her friends and their safety. Sometimes she talks too fast, or will buzz randomly. She finds that comforting.

She can be very indecisive, taking a longer time than she is comfortable with making up her mind about something. There are just so many option! And consequences! Things could go extremely badly, and she would hate for anyone to get hurt. So when she gets too overwhelmed she’ll delegate the choice to Buzzbud. When she does eventually come to a decision, she tends to stick with it, working hard to make sure it all goes well.

She is just beginning to recognize her place on the hemospectrum and how it affects others’ impressions of her and the people around her, and she doesn't like it at all. Doing anything about it seems like to much of a daunting task right now, she wouldn't know where to start! She does what she can at the moment though, like standing up for her similarly mid- or lowblooded friends. She relies a great deal on Buzzbud for help in doing this.

Ophila spends a great deal of her free time in her upstairs garden, maintaining the flowers and coddling the honeybugs. She would sleep there if she could. She likes to make honey candies flavored with the different kinds of berries that also grow in her garden. She adores her honeybugs and treats them all like her babies.

She sells her honey and flowers from a stall at the local market, but not the candies. Ophila considers it an outrage that anyone would have to buy candy, so she gives them away any chance she gets, keeping dozens of them in a small bag she likes to make Buzzbud carry.

Buzzbud is Ophila’s lusus. He’s more of a best friend than a parent, though he does do his best to look after her. She likes to do everything with him! Some of her favorite things are when they both buzz to each other, or when he reads to her before settling down to sleep. Ophila has grown up watching the way Buzzbud treats everyone with friendliness and compassion, and wants to be just like him when she grows up.

Strengths:

Hard-Working:

Ophila’s garden is a point of pride for her and she does everything in her power to make it as amazing as it possibly can be. Any project or task she sets her mind to WILL be completed to the best of her ability.

Stubborn:

Once she does make up her mind, it can be nearly impossible to make her change it. She is resolute and set in her ways, and no troll will be changing that any time soon.

Flaws:

Indecisive:

Ophila tends to take a long time figuring out what to do when faced with a decision. Having choices can be extremely overwhelming! And she’s afraid the consequences of those choices will cause others harm. No matter how big or small the decision is, she’ll always try to stall as best she can.

Sweet:

Ophila cares deeply for her friends, and really most other trolls. And plants. And Bugs. And animals. She just really likes people and things. She strives to brighten people’s day, even if just by a little. She gives away homemade candy for a reason.

Weapon: Rake. She doesn’t ever use it to actually rake anything, since her garden doesn’t have trees to lose their leaves. But she still has a rake and that’s what’s important.

Appearance: She has stubby horns that grow straight up and bend straight forwards at a 90 degree angle. Her hair is very short and very messy because she doesn’t brush it much. She wears a yellow, black, and white dress with a three layered skirt, as well as striped leggings. She prefers to be barefoot.

Home: Her hive, carved into the side of a canyon in Chittentown, has two stories. The first floor is Ophila’s and Buzzbud’s living space, with their nutrition block, respite block, etc. The second floor is filled almost to capacity with Ophila’s flower and fruit garden, which is carefully kept with sunlamps and an intricate plumbing system. The second floor is also home to her regular size honeybugs, kept in their own hives.

Lusus: A large bee named Buzzbud. Buzzbud is a total bro and Ophila’s best friend, and they love each other dearly. He’s about the same height that she is now. Buzzbud is very laid-back and hard to ruffle. He acts kindly towards others and always lends a hand when he can. Ophila finds it’s easy to talk with him, or be in comfortable silence, of just buzz together aimlessly. He does his best to look after the yellowblood, making sure she gets enough sleep, doesn’t over-work herself, and especially eats something other than candy! But otherwise he tends to give her free reign, assisting in whatever interests her that day. A priority right now is trying to help her make her own decisions without becoming distressed. It’s alright now while she’s small, but it’s not good for her, and he can’t make her choices for her forever!

Power: None

Ophila seems pretty much ready - however I would like to direct your attention to our crit guidelines. More importantly this paragraph:

"In addition, troll society is hard and harsh. A generous and openhearted troll will most likely be taken advantage of, especially if they are a lowblood. Therefore, 'kind' traits should be considered carefully before being placed as strengths. Will your redblood really be helped by their willingness to give away their last beetle to an ungrateful stranger, or will that result in them going hungry? Your blueblood's empathy might end up as a flaw, if they try to champion the cause of lowbloods and get snubbed by their peers."

If you can give a clear reasoning behind how this helps her survive and thrive in a very self-centered and aggressive society (a possible earth equivalent would be wall street) then you've got me convinced.

As an alternative, I would recommend flipping sweet into her flaws, and stubborn into her strengths. After all, not backing down and sticking to your guns can be useful in everyday life when you but into other trolls that might be trying to bully or take advantage of you! Her personality would be exactly the same, but more accurately labelled for a troll living on Alternia.
