The booth before you is a little understated by normal troll decorating standards. Shades of grey have been painstakingly painted in a camo pattern, and a green title proclaims "Gunnery Games" in a formal font.

What you assume are prizes line the booth jazz it up a little however, and two banners either side proudly read 'POW' with an image of a shooting pellet gun. In the center of the booth a pellet gun does indeed lie, surrounded by pellets in the same shade of green that decorates the banners.

You assume that they are the same green as the kid who you can just see fussing behind the counter with something. Indeed as the troll registers your presence she pops up like a little jack in the box, and grins blindingly at you.

"Welcome to Gunnery Games, a stall promoting the most glorious of career paths, the Alternian Military! Unofficially of course, I'm not old enough to actually join yet."

The young troll seems a little disappointed at that, but her expression soon turns back to a smile.

"You can have a go, if you want. You get five pellets and the aim is to knock the rebels down - that's the ugly ones with the mutant colours, not the queen's guard figures."

Indeed as the young greenblood moves to the side, you can see ten little troll shaped targets in a row, five of which have been painstakingly painted to look noble and handsome with the queen's colour emblazoning them. The other five uh. Well. They're frankly insulting, with comically ugly faces and hair. They also have mutant blood colour splashed on them. It's obvious which you're supposed to hit...but the pellet gun might not always shoot straight....

Gun 'Em Down!

Players get five pellets a day to try and shoot the rebels down (and avoid hitting the queen's guard..) and earn points. Different amounts of points will be marked down on Aconan's score sheet. At the end of each day, Aconan will hand out two tickets to the high scorers, and a third ticket to the troll she believed tried the hardest (RP-based!). Also, if you score enough points, you can score some awesome prizes!!!*

*disclaimer: awesome from Aconan's POV. May not line up with yours.

To play, roll 5d100 and check your scores against the table below.

1: Uh-oh! The pellet gun jumps in your hand and your shot goes wild, almost hitting Aconan, who dives to the side with a yelp. When she resurfaces, she looks distinctly displeased, and you get the feeling you might be marked down.... -2 points.
2-10: Ping! You hit a target!....wait, oops, that wasn't the one you were aiming for....you hit one of the queen's guard! Oh man! -1 point.
11-40: The gun clicks, the pellet soars! ....right into the back of the booth. You missed. Good job. 0 points.
41-50: The gun clicks, the pellet soars! .....just past the head of one of the rebels. Darnit, that was close! +1 point.
51-99: Ping! You hit a target, sending the rebel spinning on it's little stand. +2 points.
100: PING! Not only did you hit a target, you hit it dead-centre in it's forehead, sending it spinning for a really long time. Aconan whistles, impressed. +3 points.

Prizes

User Image
>2 points - Flyer

A mass-produced flyer on black paper and tied with green ribbon, advertising the Alternian Military. Not quite a booby prize, but considering you probably get these posted to you at least once a month...

User Image
2 points - Pin

A little metal pin with a tiny crown stamped in it. Not great quality, but it's nice and shiny!

User Image
4 points - Keychain

A keychain with a tiny crown stamped in it, this time fancily embossed in gold! Shiny and better quality than any dumb pin!

User Image
6 points - Handmade Jewellery

It's got an adjustable string so you can wear it as what you want, and some pretty black stones as well as wait - wait- are those real teeth? (yes.)

User Image
8 points - Wolf Plush

This plush is suprisingly well made, with soft fur and beans in the bottom so it's pleasantly weighted. Aconan hands one over with some reluctance.

User Image
10+ Points - Military Jacket

Aconan scrutinises you for a few seconds before digging in a pile of jackets. Eventually she digs one out in your size (or thereabouts). A plain black with fancy gold embellishments, it's very nice quality...though you do wonder where exactly she got it from, as it's not current military style. You bet you'd look dashing in it, though....

Coming to another Bloodfest felt bittersweet, despite her attempts to be chipper about it. But Luxara found herself unable to get away from her memories, and Anguis wasn't around to ease it up any. She'd just have to make the best of it on her own, much like how most of her childhood went.

Reflecting wasn't fun, though. At all. No, she'd have to get more into character. Dianea didn't have anything to be upset about! It was a fresh experience! No ties or regrets or anything!

Despite the jumbled mass of conflicting personas, she did notice one booth that slammed the door on that mess immediately. Someone had a shooting booth. Pro was that it wasn't Forera hosting the booth without her. Con, it was a royalist-centric shooting range. She bit down on a sneer. Gross, but guns are guns. Nothing else in the area looked like it would give her a shot to practice while at the event.

And, importantly, the host was an adorable kid. Luxara worried at the child's obvious dedication to the throne, but refused to feel any threat.

But she would have to avoid being amazing at shooting. She was sure that would be on her dossier. So her first shot was pretty awful. It had to be.
"Whoopsie~"

But, man, what was the point if she wasn't going to hit the target? Before Luxara knew it, she was aiming. And doing a great damn job, as always. By the time she was finished, she had done pretty ace.

"Haha, well!" "I guess I was just lucky! Who would've thought, right? I'm not much of a gun person. What is this, a shotgun? Haha! Wow." Lying hurt. Lying really, really hurt. But she had to.

Hey, Sarcel recognized that troll from the party! Her heart kinda sunk after that, because who would honestly want to remember that...? Ugh.

Oh well, at least guns were her thing. To an extent.

The thing about shotguns was that, there was a little wiggle room in the aiming department. They had a wicked spread, and all that really mattered on that front was proximity. She still hit her mark once though, and that was all that really mattered. There was always tomorrow to try again, anyway.

Poe, disguised in his very clever mildmannered brownblood disguise - Poepoe Laries, approached the shooting booth, using his crook-cane to navigate, Lanata close behind and slightly disguised herself. Sure, pretending to be blind when you... sort of already are is kind of easy, but also annoying! He wasn't used to wearing sunglasses over his giant horns and having what little eyesight he had left being blocked.

He was a little disappointed in the sore lack of dart booths this Bloodfest, but he supposed the Queen couldn't indulge his every whim. Still, shooty-booths like this one were fun! Even if he was generally pretty bad at it. He remembered having a lot of fun at Forera and Luxara's booth. Poe took a pellet gun and loaded it, fumbling a bit with that part. Five shots, and he supposed it was a little perverse for him to play a game about shooting rebels... he couldn't help it! He really wanted to play.

So, he listened for where the shots should be directed towards and aimed his gun as best as a blind child could, and took five shots. Suprisingly, he only really missed one, with the rest making some kind of contact. But he had to pretend like he couldn't see (which was easy, because he kind of couldn't). "Did I get it?" he asked, putting his gun down so he could clap his gloved hands.

Elidae paused at very green, militant booth, her expression lighting up at the sight of a familiar greenblood. Not having seen her since Awassi's hive, she felt excited to see this darling troll around and, ya know, kicking. There was a loud gasp. "Hellooo! Peach! Its so nice to see you!" Greeting Aconan with a super energetic wave, Elidae bounded over to the booth to gush. "And wow, your booth looks so lovely! I love it!" Aconan was a troll Elidae wasn't entirely acquainted with yet, but after the insanity they both experienced, she would address her like a friend, regardless. She wasn't really that great at games that required a steady hand, but that didn't mean it wasn't fun! Picking up the gun, Elidae prepared herself to play, but then gave the other girl a sparkling expression.

"I'm gunna give it a try, but ranged weapons aren't really my forte! Hehe." She wrinkle her nose with a giggle, stuck her tongue out playfully, then took aim.

She missed a couple tries, but got two pings that left her pretty jazzed!

Azrael's attention had not been caught up by the booth itself but by the greenbold. Aconan was her name, wasn't it? And there was another friend of his that he saw, Elidea! And Kursha nowhere to be found, good... not that he disliked the guy, more totally frightened of him right at the very moment. With a quick step Azrael arrived at the booth, "Good evening," came his cool response. "It's nice to see you again Aconan, may I?"

He gestured towards the game. Guns were in no way his forte, but at the very least he would give it a try. He would probably bother talking with the girls when they weren't so busy. Azrael took aim and with the little confidence he felt, fired the pellets.

To the blueblood's utter shock he made several hits, one near hit and an utter miss. This was such a shock to him that he had to double take and make sure he'd seen it right. A smile crossed his face and he turned to Elidae who had been in the range before him. "I can't say that I expected a result such as this... I have never used a gun before...."

Feeling better, while still visibly bruised and sporting a bloodstain on the front of his jacket, Sascha continued his rounds about Bloodfest. The familiar sounds of rifles popping lured him over to the shooting gallery booth.

He was a little disappointed and a whole lot relieved that it wasn't being run by the same girls as last season. He would have killed for a chance to shut the mouthy teal one up with his improved marksmanship skills. They were probably improved, he figured. He certainly couldn't have gotten worse.

Sascha curtly greeted the troll running the booth, sizing her up to see if she would try anything funny (or was wearing a disproportionately large coat). The greenblood seemed pretty well put-together, not to mention excited for people to gun down her rebel targets. Sascha could get behind that. He picked up a gun and fired five shots.

One popped a royal guard in the arm and another missed entirely. The other three bullets, however, found their mark flawlessly. Sascha could barely believe it. Nothing had gone wrong? Nothing had gone wrong! He didn't totally suck at guns!

Sascha left the booth a changed troll.

Rastin Morden

After being served two horrible cups of tea and nearly losing all hope in his fellow trolls, Rastin strode his way to the Gunnery Games booth. There was an rather obvious rage boiling within him that showed in the seriousness of his gaze when he grasped a hold of the pellet gun and faced his targets. Such stupid faces, all of them idiots, how could they not know how to brew tea! It was bloody simple! Wigglers could do it!

His first four shots were direct hits, not to the forehead or anything special, but they left those damn targets spinning in circles. He'd failed to notice or, rather, care about the colors splashed upon them. All he could care about was getting his anger out before returning to his booth. He knew couldn't do his job properly until he was calm again.

"Damn it! Of course!" He snapped as his fifth and final shot sang past the head of a target and into the back of the booth. His wrist shook slightly as he placed the gun back down and he heaved, before turning to the troll behind the counter.

"Could I have one of those plush wolves, please?" He asked, his expression still rather severe. "I feel I may need something soft to comfort me if my faith in my fellow trolls plummets any further."

Okay, yes, it was pretty obvious by now: Alifax was going from booth to booth looking for anything that might be valuable. He'd almost passed this one over, actually, except that there was a large pile of apparently well-made clothing. That was interesting. He liked free shirts.

"Good choice," said Alifax to the troll in charge of the booth when she began her spiel about glorious career paths. Alifax was not so sure he agreed, but working in the military was at least dependable, and talking about how great it was in public was probably earning her points with Queen Marian. He wasn't much of a great shot, although he was accustomed to working from a distance...he eyed the other prizes with disdain. It couldn't hurt that much to try, right? If anything he could just turn down the extra bullshit. Or something.

He grabbed the gun and fired five rounds into the air, one after the other. The nice thing about that was that his aim didn't falter: the second, fourth, and fifth all went right into the head of the central mutant. The other two sailed over. He didn't really care.

The troll offered him a string of teeth and rocks in response. Were they peppercorns? Rough black salt? "Is this a soup base?" he asked, puzzled. Well, whatever. He'd take weird fancy highblood spice strings tonight. And come back for the jacket.

Not a gun person? Yes, that was somewhat obvious. Aconan gave the older troll a disbelieving eyebrow raise, then remembered to be polite.

"It's most similair to a pistol I guess, miss."

Melancholies

Aconan might have been squeeing a little bit on the inside when Sarcel approached. SARCEL. Ohhh, how Aconan thought the blueblood was impressive from seeing them in action at the party. What a troll! Of course, they were obviously not used to firing a pistol, but Aconan gave them a pleased grin anyway.

"Thanks for playing, you can come back tomorrow!"

purplerosesbeauty

...wow. WOW. Aconan blinked for a few seconds, stunned. This troll hit so many targets BLIND? No. No, that's not possible. Squinting at Poepoe, Aconan decided the other troll must be playing a joke of some kind. Well, better to play along she guessed.

"Yes, you got seven points! That's jewellery with teeth and black stones, or you can choose a lesser prize - pin, keyring or flyer."

Aconan smiled back at Elidae easily. She didn't know the other very well, but they'd vaguely met at the eventful party so she must be a loyal troll of the empire, and she seemed like a sweetheart. That impression did not fade as she continued to talk. Aconan flushed faintly green at the compliment to her booth, grinning widely.

"Thanks! I'm glad you like it, I put a lot of work into it."

Behind the counter, Loupsus huffed in agreement. The amount of paint....grey paint...EVERYWHERE. Ugh, he still felt like it was in his fur even AFTER the dreaded bath! Aconan slid a ticket across the counter to Elidae - "For trying so hard!"

"Azreal!" Aconan grinned again, smiling at her friend. "Of course, of course! Good luck!" When the score was tallied, she whistled.
"Woah, good shots!"

She slid the ticket across the counter to him.

Aconan nodded politely to Sascha, a little worried by the visible bloodstain on his jacket, but unwilling to comment incase it was some kind of fashion thing. He seemed to go off looking pretty happy though, so Aconan smiled. She was doing good!

Aconan didn't....retreat, but she did blink a little at the fury contained in the young troll. He was a damn good shot though, and she noted down his score with her precise hand. As he asked for the plush, she smiled at him, even though she'd rather have kept the plush. (Even if she had a lot of them, they were /awesome/.) Handing over the weighted toy, she decided to say something, even as she handed him a ticket as well.

"Not had the best night? You at least did extremely well with the shooting. Are you a gun user yourself?"

thyPOPE

Aconan tilted her head, confused. "A..soup base?" She blinked. I mean, she guessed she could see where he was coming from but there was no marrow in the teeth and no gristle, and the rocks were just....shiny rocks. "No it's um. Jewellery?"

But Alifax had already headed off.

He'd always been more of a close combat enthusiast but seeing all these guns in action was getting him pumped! Cerpin approached the booth with curiosity twinkling in his eyes as other trolls fired off round after round. Were they easy to use, guns? He'd never had an opportunity really before. Blossmom didn't like him playing with dangerous things much because Cerpin didn't assess risk to his own safety particularly well.

"I think I aim it like this and-" The first shot fired accidentally as he fiddled with the technical parts of the gun and he gulped nervously. Thankfully it didn't hit anyone but it also didn't hit anything. He huffed and began to fire seriously at the targets now, managing to score a couple points! Hell yeah, he was a freaking genius at this.

Well he wasn't but at least he hadn't hurt anyone so... go him. He thanked the troll running the booth and made a note to drop by again sometime!

Psykgi Mentha

Oh? A shooting game? She'd played one, briefly, last bloodfest...

Hmmm...

Psykgi took the gun in hand, and decided to try her hand at aiming for the targets. "Here goes..." she said to the nervous cockroach on her shoulder as she pulled the trigger...

Pellets fired, she put the gun down to review her abilities.

"Awww..." she said, not really disappointed, "So close!"

Back at it again at Gunnery Games! Luxara couldn't keep herself away, no matter how badly she tried. So, to make up for it, she would just have to be kinda crap tonight. It was hard. So, so hard. But she had to! For the rebellion!

Barely focusing as she shot, she made out a lot worse than the day before.

"Guess that beginner's luck is gone. Ohhhhh well!" she said with an exaggerated shrug. "Not my forte, what can you do?"
