For as long as she could remember there was always an internal war raging within her. When she was a foal it wasn't that bad but as she got older the dark side of her blood called out stronger than the good in her. It won time and time again though there were times that the good triumphed.

She didn't remember her parents or if she had any siblings. Everything from her younger years was nothing but a blur and Sylvanna wasn't really saddened by that. She was a survivor and she wasn't by any means weak. Sure there were times where her emotions ran wild, but it was never sadness.

Slowly but surely her waging war of good versus bad was eating away at her sanity and she was just barely aware of that fact. She was hoping that one side would just ultimately destroy the other, but so far there wasn't any sign of that happening. She really didn't have a side she was rooting for, she just wanted to be able to do what she needed to do to survive and move onto the next day. That was it. She was pretty simple when it came to things such as that. If you wanted to delve into her subconscious though, that was a WHOLE other ball park and you really didn't want to talk to her about her feelings.

She was fairly certain if someone wanted to have her open up about what she was thinking she'd likely want to rip their throat open or quite possibly just go ahead and do it. She didn't see the point of just talking to someone about how you were feeling. What did it really do for anyone? She really didn't think it did anything at all and was quite content with not saying anything. Unless someone ticked her off, then she would say something. She wasn't about to let anyone insult her and get away with it. At least that's what she told herself time and time again.

As she walked along she could feel the unicorn in her want to help heal her and those that she came across but the kalona in her pushed back and it caused quite an issue for her. Unless she was being attacked, then everything seemed to work in harmony. Clearly both sides of her didn't want to die. With a huff she tossed her head slightly and gazed around. She was alone, like she always was and that didn't really bother her too much. Finding a nice spot against some bunched up trees she laid down and folded her wings over her body and closed her eyes. This was a good place to rest and rest she did.

Her hunger for meat had eventually ushered her from her place of solitude and she had successfully, much to the unicorn parts displeasure, taken down a young flutter while it slept. Part of her was disgusted but the other part was absolutely thrilled and loved every moment of it. With her hunger well sated she left the body where it was, the scavengers would pick off the rest of it. At least he had died quickly and that was more than could have been said if someone else had done it besides her. Wiping the blood from her muzzle on her lower leg she walked on, her mind racing all different directions. 'You didn't have to kill that poor creature you know, I'm sure there are other ways you could have gotten meat. One half of her argued while the Kalona part just laughed. What good would scavenging have been? At least this way it was fresh. Quit being so squeamish about these things. It will make life so much easier for you. Sylvanna grumbled out loud as the two parts of her waged war against one another.

When would it ever end? Would it ever end? She wasn't too hopeful about it, unless one side ultimately won over the other. Though she really didn't have a side she would rather want to win in all honesty. The kalona side of her taught her to fight and to defend herself while the unicorn side gave her the ability to heal, even somewhat poorly, and to show compassion even though the kalona part of her disliked the idea at times. Both sides would have to co-exist eventually or she would go mad, that much she was certain. Though she was fairly certain her going made was inevitable for she was already loosing herself to no mans land. The vast void of darkness within her persona that had no right or wrong. It was the in-between she sometimes found herself sinking into when she was conflicted enough. It was like a mental escape where she blocked out everything, felt nothing and just acted on instinct. She wouldn't exactly say she had control over that part of her consciousness, but she was able to recall her actions in a bit of a haze.

Locating a stream not too far away she walked into the semi-shallow waters to wash the blood from her legs and dipped her face into it's clear depths to cleanse the rest of the evidence from her face. Taking a drink or two as she moved her face around for a moment she felt a deep satisfaction within her and she lifted her head and smiled. There were times when the two sides didn't battle, mainly when she did something that was neutral territory, like drinking water or finding a place to rest. It was just a wonderful feeling and it was in moments like this that she felt free of everything. It never lasted long though for she'd eventually get hungry and she'd eat tender greens for a bit or a squirrel now and again and both sides would bicker and complain or be appalled and disgusted. Deciding not to think about it she figured she'd enjoy the moment while it lasted and enjoyed playing in the water a bit while she was at complete and total serenity.

She wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to do today. She had managed to get through a few days of peace and was currently just enjoying the peace and quite. She wasn't sure what she had done be she had been able to settle the war that had been waging within her. Feeling a little thirsty she got up and went in search of a stream to drink from. Flicking her tail behind her as she walked her gaze darted too and fro. There wasn't a whole lot going on today and she wondered if perhaps there was someone else around she could perhaps talk to. She wanted to see how her emotions would go having a conversation with someone. However, she was alone.

She supposed it wasn't that bad though. Finally locating a stream she walked into it and dipped her face to the water and drank as she walked. Fish swam around her legs as she walked and she just listened to the sound of everything around her. It was nice not being torn between a thirst for blood and a want for peace.

Finding a nice bank to walk onto she tossed her head, her hair cascading around her face and down her neck as it settled. She spotted some berry bushes nearby and danced over to them happily. She munched on a few of them and was quite surprised that part of her wasn't screaming to go find something to kill. Perhaps she was in the clear? It was almost a weird feeling, how quiet everything felt within her. She almost missed it.
