“Here! This is the perfect spot!”Dropping the bag of lemons, Calypso raced over the lawn as fast as his legs could carry him. He faded in and out of the physical realm, stumbling with every other step. Once he nearly lost his balance entirely, but then his form flickered and he reappeared several feet ahead. At last he came to an abrupt stop at a tree, almost crashing head first into it. He turned beaming to his sibling and their assigned caretaker. “What do you think?” he asked breathlessly, face flushed with excitement. “It's in the shade, it's right across from the school doors, and it's just a short walk from the path. It's great, right?!”Striding over the lawn at a more reasonable pace with table in tow, their caretaker, a patient baphomet, smiled and shook her head. “I'm not sure...” she said. “It seems like an awful lot of work.”Calypso's face fell. Only for a moment though. “We can do it!” he protested. “Right Eureka?” He turned expectantly towards his sibling, who was carrying the pitcher.

Eureka walked a couple of steps ahead of their caretaker, keeping pace but only just. There was a wide smile on her face as she watched her brother race ahead though, one she couldn't even begin to contain if she tried. Thankfully, the urge to take off after him was easier to hold back, even if it itched at her and put an impatient little bounce in her step. With her arms wrapped securely around the pitcher, she glanced back at the Baphomet and giggled. See, she thought, I'm carrying the breakable thing and I'm being careful.
But then, of course, Calypso announced the perfect spot and no amount of willpower in the world could keep her from running across the remaining distance to see it from where he stood. She settled the pitcher in a nice safe spot on the ground by the bag of lemons and then hurried closer to the tree, looking this way and that before making a complete trip around it. On her return she immediately launched a hug at her twin.
"It's the most perfect!" Not that she'd ever had a doubt, of course, but she was full to the brim with excitement. Still half-latched to her sibling, she turned that bright smile back at their caretaker. "We can! We'll work really, really hard, you'll see!" She giggled again then, shaking her head. "I bet it won't be bad at all though, because there's two of us and we've got it all planned out!"

“Hm...” The baphomet looked down at the two beaming children. Her expression turned thoughtful. “Really, really hard?” she echoed, sounding pensive. Suddenly she broke out into a grin. “I guess I can't say no to that. All right, you two. You win. Move aside now.”Placing the table on the grass once the twins had scooted out of the way, she spent some time trying to get it level. Then, after about a half a minute she straightened and dusted her hands. “That'll have to do. What next?”Calypso glanced over at Eureka to share a knowing look. He cleared his throat and turned back to their caretaker. “As much as we appreciate your services,” he said in his most grown-up voice, “we can handle it from here. After all, 'there is a great deal of difference between an eager baphomet who wants to read a book, and a tired baphomet who wants a book to read.'” He gave a firm nod at the end of the quote. That seemed an appropriate saying. Meanwhile their caretaker was doing her best not to snort with laughter. “I'll just sit over here, and watch and learn then,” she said. “Let me know if you need anything.” Leaving the twins to it, she slipped around the tree and settled down against the trunk, close enough to keep an eye on them, but not so close as to interfere.

Spectrum was pretty thirsty he had to admit, and after a long time studying he'd whined at his care-taker about the stall he'd watched be setup not far from the school. He'd watched eagerly as the twins darted around and got their table setup. Whatever they had made with those lemons surely would taste better than water. Plus, it was under a tree, and had a nice shady patch that only further served to peek his interest. His long thin tail curled on itself, spiraling into a small ball as he grinned toothily. He was an attention-seeker by all rights, so it was any wonder as he ran towards the pair of brightly colored geists that he actually flailed his arms in greeting. "Why hellloooo there!" Spectrum flashed both of them a rather charming smile. Even if it was full of teeth, his blue eyes flickered between the two trying to get a sense of what they were like. Not far behind him was his caretaker. He was a hybrid, of demon and perhaps imp origin if the ears were any indication. His set of horns spoke to his demon side, along with the small poof ball at the end of the nightmares sleek tail. "Go on, I'll be close by." He offered a small smile as he chuckled. Spectrum beamed toothily, not needing to be told he was free to go ahead. The determined boy was confident and self-assured he could handle this! He had money and everything ready to go too. "Yo. You guys have a pretty sweet setup..!!" The boy pursed his lips, wings rustling behind him to accompany his curious expression. Tilting his head, his hair slid across half his face while he looked on with a childish-wondering expression. As if remembering he wasn't there just to stand and stare, he cleared his throat. The hybrid boy was almost too excited even to ask for a cup initially, he was more curious about the pair of twins. One of them had faded in and out of the physical plane. That was SO cool. Even better they had yummy drink stuff. These two kids knew what was up clearly. He wasn't sure if he recognized them from class or not. Leaning in his clawed digits lightly clicked on the table as if to express his enthusiasm. "OH! Um. How much for a cup?" He asked with a hopeful expression finally as his tail twitched with his excitement as it uncurled it's self. KitsuneAura I got my s**t together lol

Eureka schooled her delighted grin into as serious an expression as she could manage, nodding sagely as her twin laid out the situation for their caretaker. She had no idea what that saying meant, but it sounded good enough for her. It would definitely get the point across. She still had to stamp down the urge to cheer when it definitely did work. She waved instead as the baphomet made her way over to the tree trunk and then turned to make sure everything was in the absolute perfect spot.
No sooner had she gotten everything just so, a voice rang out and another freshling loudly made his way over. This was it. The start of their very own business! She could already see the house they were going to buy with all the money they were going to make. Giggling, she put her hands on the table and leaned forward, beaming at the boy. "The sweetest," she promised, nodding. "I'm so glad you noticed!" It was always nice to have one's amazing ideas acknowledged.
It took a minute to get to the real question, and the suspense was killing her, but there it was! He was going to buy some! For a second though, she floundered, throwing a quick glance to Calypso. What had they agreed again? Ummm. "That will be one silver crescent, please! And since you're our first customer...!"

 Calypso
Calypso stepped in seamlessly. “You win a special pin commemorating* the occasion!” he announced. Reaching over the table, he pinned it to the front of the chimera hybrid's sweater.
It looked rather dashing on the boy, he thought, almost matching his hair and wings. Of course it was not just a prize or a fashion accessory. It was also free advertising. He and Eureka had convinced their caretaker to make it. Circular, and coloured like a pink lemon slice, it featured the text “#1”. They wanted to reward their customers, they said. Calypso neglected to mention that the “#1” signified more than just their first customer.
He drew back from the boy grinning. In retrospect he wished that he and Eureka had planned something a little more extravagant: some balloons, party poppers, a marching band... There was always next time though. While there would never be another first customer, there would be a tenth, a hundredth, and maybe even a thousandth!
“And now, kind sir,” Calypso said, “if you wait just one moment, my associate and better half will get your drink!” With a theatrical gesture he stepped back to give Eureka both the floor and room to work.
*No one knew where he managed to learn such big words. They were was much of a mystery as his unusual sayings.
KitsuneAura Holy s**t. I never wrote down that it was my turn to post... leon_a_darkangel And I completely forgot. I'm so sorry.
