He’d met with Jeremiah, and Alg. Shared everything that he could think of to share. He’d thought for a while, considered how he felt about things, about everything, and when he was done pondering things for a while… he called Autumn. He was going to have to do a LOT more thinking to be fair, but that could come after he trued to answer more questions. So they’d agreed to meet, and try and find a way to other Ashdown, which in more than a few ways was –against- his better judgment. But He just…wanted to see Heliodora, and at one time she at least he knew, had been human. It took them… about 20 minutes of wandering trying to decide the best way to get TO other Ashdown without directly asking Sunny how to Go. They found it… a little randomly Zac thought, while they were both trying to figure out how to get there, opened a door and… Well… “Ok…that worked, but I should have worn better shoes for long walks because damn.” Zac said shaking his head.

"And you all were laughing at me for my outfit for exploring," Autumn laughed, shaking her head as she followed after Zac. She had been... hesitant, to say the least, in returning to Other Ashdown after her Ashdown Breakdown (as she was now terming it). But Zac had information he wanted to seek, and Autumn admittedly had some questions of her own. Namely, she wanted to check on Pax through Heliodora, to see if the Otherbeing was... hiding anything that Autumn could help with. Admittedly, she still felt guilt over their freakout and the whole 'you are going to fail' thing, but wasn't sure how to bring it up.
Rosalinde had opted not to join the two, giving some excuse of 'tiring of this nonsense' and heading back to the apartment. Whatever. It meant that Autumn had private time to bond with her good buddy Zac, and admittedly, work out some of her fears.
"So... do you ever worry? About us?" She hedged, glancing over to him. "I mean like, in the whole Harry Potter but without Avada Kedavra sense. Like we're gonna ******** die."
Smooth, Autumn. Real smooth.

"Not... So much worried about ME till you said that" Zac admitted as he glanced about to get his bearings. Crud, the needed to get to the Park, right? MORE walking, joy. "on the plus side- I concede the tremendous wisdom of your Ashdown Adventure Gear. I thought my little kit..." He patted his bag, emergency blanket, silvery and strange but super small when folded. Small first aid kit, wasp spray... Because it had better range. Little water purification tablets, and meal replacement bars now made it harder to hit books in. Basically he had a 'lost in the woods' kit. "But I think you ran circles around me for clever." He admitted. "Thank you though for coming- I ... I didn't mention it before. But I had this... " he sighed. "It was like a memory- but.... It -can't- have been mine. I think it might have been Heliodora's. It was.... Creepy, I even remembered pain. I don't think you normally remember pain, not like that." He shook his head again. "I might not be making sense"

"My boots have ankle support, jacket's sleeves come off... I'm basically a G.I. Joe for this place, but cooler. And cuter," she added, giving a twirl to show the entire outfit off. Honestly, she could probably market cute AND functional girl dolls. Suck it Barbie, there was a new bad b***h in town. With a realistic body type, to boot.
At the mention of the memory that wasn't his, Autumn seemed to sober up. It fell in line too well with her discussions with Jeremiah, and the journal she had/had not written. There was definitely something bigger than the whole of them going on here. She pursed her lips a bit, brow furrowed.
"It might've been yours. There's... I found a journal I wrote but I didn't write. Another timeline, another world. Something like that. It's all really ******** up." Autumn shrugged a bit.
"Honestly, that's kind of why I came along. I have a few things I wanted to ask Heliodora. ...Do you know how to find her, anyway?"

" Find her?" A strange, elongated thing loped out of the shadows cast by a building nearby. It looked... not unlike Pax, though it seemed to have gone the complete opposite direction on eyes: instead of having too many, this shadow-creature (it was flat on the ground, seemed to have no real shape) had none at all. What it did have was a smile. " My my. Are you LOST, children?"

“Well, we found her in the park before right? I thought it would be pretty reasonable to go that way and hope for the best?” He admitted, sounding a little embarrassed about that part at least. “Also MY boots have ankle support too, I just um… The idea that the memory might be his made him stumble. “W…what? How could it…I… no, I mean it –really- can’t be.” He said firmly. “I… why do you think it could be..AAHhhHHOLYShit! No…No we are not lost!” Not the most polite introduction to be sure., and perhaps too hasty a reply.

At Zac's jumpy-a** reply, Autumn winced internally. You had to show that you weren't afraid, and he'd just entirely blown his cover. Great. Now they were going to have to REALLY talk their way out of this one. Whatever this thing was, it wasn't Pax. She didn't get the sense that it was just as scared as them. Instead, the thing felt... predatory. Admittedly, Autumn herself was worried, but she forced her face to stay cool and calm.
"We're going to meet a friend," She explained, grabbing Zac's arm and holding it a bit too firmly for it to just be a friendly grip. Autumn gave her friend a very pointed look of tone it the ******** down, and turned back to their new visitor.
"Sorry to be in such a rush, and we mean no rudeness, but we're kind of in a hurry. If you don't mind, we're going to head on our way."

" Oh, but I could be your friend," said the thing, its eyeless head tossing like something was caught in its antlers. With a delicate little flutter of hooves, it stretched its form to circle the pair, and then rose up, up, up out of the ground to create some kind of cage. There were six of it now, but they moved in eerie synchrony as they bowed their heads to peer at Autumn and Zac. " QUAKING one, I see you come with questions! Come, come, what is it you wish to know?"

Why, why did they all seem to have Hooves, shadows, too many limbs and all the wrong shape. It made his skin crawl… Pax hadn’t turned out so bad but. Quaking one, god… Autumn was the peaceful one, and NOW he was the quaking one. Fabulous. “We’re… fine thank you.” He said tying to subdue the ‘quaking. The…extra firm grip on his arm giving him tightness to his jaw that he tried to force into a smile. “You just startled us…but thank you.”

They were trapped. Holy s**t, they were trapped. It was incredibly fortunate Autumn had sobbed herself to the point of exhaustion, because she was still so sapped from the experience her face did not shift. Her heart raced, mind you, and she was internally losing her s**t, but otherwise...
"...Why are you caging us in?" She asked, quiet but firm. "Please. We don't want any trouble, we just want to find our friend."

"But why? She cannot help like I can. I'm so much better." It laughed. "You're not trapped unless you want to be. C'mon, sweethearts, what have you got to lose?"

Zac’s turn to put a hand over Autumn’s where she gripped his arm. His hand tightened over hers. He could say no, no was –always- an option, wasn’t that what Jer and Alg had just said? He took a breath and let it out. “… Suppose, we accepted your help, are you actually being helpful or… do you want something?”

This was not good. This was not good at all. But Zac had opened his ******** mouth again (and seriously, when they got out of this, she was having WORDS with this boy about GIVING EVERYTHING AWAY), and Autumn pressed her lips in a tight line. Jeremiah had said words had power. Names, too.
No way in hell was she giving... this thing, that'd CLEARLY BEEN EAVESDROPPING (the ********), any power.
Man, she was gunna ******** kill Zac if he got them killed. Double-dead, that ******** class="quote">endejester

It grinned, or, gave the impression of grinning, or something along those lines; it roiled, like a pot of salt on the boil, and resolved into something behind them. "I'm always helpful," said the creature. " Always. But of course I require payment for my services."

That made his eyes narrow. “Right….” He said dryly. What was the advice he was given? Do as they said not as they…do? He glanced at her, the grip on his arm and…well, the look on her face. He glanced at her and tried VERY hard to convey a ‘nononono’ with his eyes.
