Fire crackled in a small pit that Draven had dug out of the ground. the flames burned bright in the night as the young man leaned against the side of his companion. The large gold and crimson janarim laid with his head on his paws, golden eyes watching the flickering flames. Around them the night was alive with sound, camping out wasn't so bad, not with Regale to guard.
"Go to sleep Regale, its not like we're going to get jumped." Draven chuckled as he worked on something.
Strips of leather laid at his side, as he daftly stitched them together with thinner rawhide. The pack was coming together, it was looking big enough to even carry Nile when she outgrew her smaller pack that he carried. Looking back at the Janarim, Draven gave a small grin before going back to work. Stopping a moment, Draven sat up and looked around, this movement caused Regale to lift his head and sniff at the air. But it wasn't anything as the boy reached over and tossed a couple more sticks of wood onto the fire to bank it up again. The large pack was nearly completed. Holding it up, the stitching looked like it would hold anything that was place within.
Now it was just to adding the harness to attach it to Regale, Draven knew that the Janarim might not like it. But he would be pulling his own weight as well, Draven couldn't carry everything and this would be good for the both of them. Having taken time to make sure he had enough material to wrap around the Janarim's girth, Draven put the harness together with a simple clasp. Now the moment of truth, would it fit? These thoughts would have to wait, as Draven yawned and tucked the newly crafted pack close to his other belongings.
"In the morning you have a surprise" Draven muttered to the dozing familiar, as he started to fall asleep.
