She really -really- hated flying. Not only were ones back to the states long and usually boring but they never seemed to actually be on time. They'd never really explained why the flight had been delayed getting off the ground but there was already half an hour there. Plus anything else that was bound to happen along the way. The flight itself hadn't been terrible. She'd stuck headphones on her head and ignored the couple beside her while she played games. She'd sent Regina the information on her flight and a cool tracker app she'd found so hopefully she wouldn't be stuck at the airport waiting for the flight to land. When the flight did finally land and she'd hauled herself toward the baggage claim she turned her phone back on to text her friend and find out where she was.

[ Text to Joce: Omgulanded! ] [ Text to Joce: *Omg you landed!] [ Text to Joce: Outside by doors to your terminal. Green beetle. Are you hungry??] Regina Hopewell had been looking forward to Jocelin's visit since she found out her friend would be visiting. Destiny City hadn't been the same without her fellow abductee. As a matter of fact, it had been stranger and there were some things that she needed to talk to Joce about that she just hadn't found a way to explain through skype or gaming headsets or emails or IMs. She parked her car outside, getting out so that she could open the trunk for Joce's things, trying her very best not to seem as nervous or jittery as she was. It wasn't like she had changed all that much. Alright, she'd swapped out her Legend of Zelda tee for an Inquisition tank and a light sweater, but deep down she was still the same old Regina Faith that Jocelin had once upon a time made friends with.

She laughed quietly about the text as she snagged her luggage off the belt. Once she had everything she tucked her phone into a pocket before heading toward the doors. She had on a soft, light blue sweater and her favorite pair of jeans since she wanted to be comfortable for the flight. At least she knew she'd recognize Regina since they skyped occasionally but she was still nervous. It had been years since they'd really seen each other.
When she spotted the car and Regina leaning on it she smiled. "Do you ever not have nerdy shirts on? Is that the new tank Bioware put out?"

"Well, I have-- No, that one doesn't count... There's-- No, not that one either." Regina's brow furrowed as she crossed her arms over her chest, thinking a bit harder than necessary for a moment only to shake it off. It was much easier to just flash Jocelin a bright smile that way. "Why would I want to wear shirts that weren't awesome? And yes, it is definitely the new tank Bioware put out, although I do have a few off-brand artist designs too. I did send you the link to that site with the stuff, didn't I?" She stepped forward, snagging her friend's suitcase so that she could load it into her trunk. "Your hair's longer than mine is now!"

"You might have and I probably saved it somewhere." She laughed as Regi snagged her stuff, shaking her head. When her friend finally turned around she snagged her hands. "Not even gonna give me a hug? After all it's been ... five years?" Not really giving her a choice she pulled her friend end so she could squish her in a proper greeting. "It's good to see you ... and yea, I decided to let it grow out and re-dyed it. Heard the ombre gray thing is all the rage"

Five years. It had really been that long since the last time she had seen Jocelin in person. Sometimes it didn't seem like it had been that long-- Other times it seemed so much longer. Regina closed her eyes for a moment, smiling in contentment as she returned the embrace, giving Joce a gentle squeeze before drawing back. "I didn't know if you'd want a hug after being on a plane for as long as you've been on a plane. Was your flight alright? You didn't answer me about the food thing, you know..."

"Flight wasn't bad after they got the delay fixed. Long but okay." She smiled, nodding. "Oh ... food would be good. I didn't pay for any on the flight so I'm starving." She smiled, shifting her carry-on on her shoulder. "Got anywhere that's good to eat? I sorta don't remember what's good around here anymore." She'd have to check out what she could while she was in tow. She figured a couple weeks would give her time to find some good stuff.

"A few new places opened up-- The usual burgers, pizza, pubs. All depends on what you're in the mood for." She was still smiling brightly as she slid around to get into the driver's side, giving Joce a moment to get settled in her own seat before pulling away from the terminal. "The cafe near the college is still there; the one with the wraps and salads? Little bit of everything everywhere. Few newer places in the mall too. Oh! There's a Japanese place that's pretty amazing. They cook everything right in front of you, make it look really fancy and impressive." There had always been the Japanese place, but it was one of the things that Regina had just recently discovered on her own.

"That sounds good. Lets do the Japanese place." She didn't get as much of that in France as she liked and what she could get wasn't as good as she remembered from living here. "Think they'll be busy?" Not that she had a lot in her luggage but she didn't want to make Regi wait to eat if there would be a faster place. "I'm kinda surprised that the city still looks as much like it did before. I kinda expected it to change."

"Mm... On a Tuesday? Probably not." She shook her head, handing her phone over to Jocelin so the other young woman could program the name of the restaurant onto her map. "Food's totally worth a little wait if they are, though, so I don't think you'll be disappointed." It was easy to fall back into light chatter with her friend as she drove, discussing what had stayed the same with the city along with the few small things that had changed. "I think the only areas of town that have changed are places that have been destroyed by various terrorist acts and then rebuilt, honestly."

She navigated while they drove, glad that there wasn't too much traffic and from the parking lot the restaurant didn't look like it was crazy busy. She'd kept track of some of the terrorist attacks in the news, they usually got a small spot even over seas since that sort of thing was crazy. It was still odd to think that things like that were still going on. "You have no idea how hard it was not telling my pa what really happened. He was so freaked out after I went missing I'm still sorta surprised he didn't just fly here and scoop me up when I got back."

"Abducted by aliens, obliterated into stardust and then somehow saved? Yeah-- Bit much to believe, even for a nut like me." She flashed Joce a smile, fiddling with the end of her braid. It was a nervous habit that she barely noticed, tugging lightly on the strand as she pondered just how much she knew now. "So... Everything in your bag should be alright in the car while we have dinner?"

"Yea, was pretty sure Pa would have sent me off to a nut house if i'd tried to convince him any of that happened." She laughed softly, shaking her head. IT was still sometimes hard to believe it happened. Everything still sounded like something out of a movie and she was sure there was weirdness she didn't know about too. "Nothing in there that will melt and it's not hot enough I'm worried about anything else"

"It's still been pretty mild; actually cold some nights recently." She nodded as she slid out of the car, waiting until Jocelin had joined her on the outside before locking it. When she'd made it around to the other side of the car she looped her arm through her friend's, linking their elbows together. "I am glad you finally decided to come back to visit. City really hasn't been the same without you, Joce. It's been... Interesting, to say the least, but definitely not the same."

"More weird stuff happening?" She raised a brow as she looked at Regina. "I mean I know some of it has cause I try to keep up with the news online but I know they don't report everything." They hadn't with the incident she'd been part of so she figured that would be the same. "I've been wanting to come back it's just been too hard before. How am I supposed to make sure everyone's really okay if I'm all the way in another country?"
