Ninfia was as excited as any kid would be today for today was the field trip their grade had decided to take to the local fire station. They loved field trips regardless of where they went because it was a chance to get away from the usual boring routine of school. It also meant they could sneak their best buddy in with them, their cockatiel Plátano!
The school bus finally came to a stop and the young bird enthusiast peeked into their pocket to check on their birdie friend before rushing off the bus. They always made sure they were the first off the bus as they weren't one to wait around. They gasped as they quickly ran ahead of their class, taking in the bright red fire truck positioned inside. They never realized how big they were until they saw one in person! Ninfia was quick to free themselves from their group. Moving at the slow pace the rest of their class was moving at was so boring!
When they thought no one was looking they quickly climbed into the fire truck. It was so much cooler and different inside than it was in their Lito's pickup truck. They climbed into the driver's seat, removing Plátano and setting her on the steering wheel. "This is so much fun isn't it girl?" they said putting their hands on the wheel. This was definitely much more entertaining than whatever their class was doing!
