If you could only see the way, she loves me.
The radio was playing gently in the bedroom, the house dark and quiet. He should be sleeping, but he couldn't.
Kor sat back, looking down at his fiancee's sleeping form, smiling to himself. She looked even younger this way, but she was so beautiful. A hand reached out and touched her cheek lightly, the backs of his fingers caressing that dark skin that was smooth and flawless.
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me
He remembered the first time she said she loved him. Her eyes were vibrant and it made his chest clench. It was such a good feeling, one of the best times in his life. He burned the image of her face in his mind.
Reaching over for a pack of cigarettes, Kor took one out, lit it with a lighter that was hidden in the pack and took a long drag. The cherry glew brightly in the room that was only illuminated by the radio, and now his cigarette. His hand that was stroking Laine's cheek was now resting on his stomach as he leaned back against the headboard and just sighed. The smoke billowed out from his mouth like a dragon from some fantasy movie he watched with Laine.
His whole relationship with Laine was... well, amazing. I was fast paced, but not too fast. With the memories from the future.. that sped things up. They'd been married. He'd had missing fingers, but God, did she take care of him. They just worked so well. She made him feel young. It sounds bad when stated like that, but Kor felt a lot older than he was sometimes with what had gone on in his life.
Drawing the cigarette to his lips once more, he watched Laine sleep again, the way her body moved when she breathed, or needed to adjust. The way her face twitched with her dreams. He was going to spend the rest of his life with this woman and Kor couldn't be more happy about it.
If you would ask him two years ago if he was ever going to settle down and even think about marriage he would tell you no. He never believed that marriage was for him, but for those people who wanted to try to be monogomys. Luckily for him, Laine was okay with him wanting to sleep with another person, have feelings for another person. She wound up liking the same person, so that probably helped things, but still. She was very open minded and that definitely was one of the most loved things about her. She accepted his flaws, addictions... She'd helped him overcome so much already.
For her, he let himself come to the 'dark side'. Now he was a Negaverse Lieutenant. He did it to protect her. To aid her like she aided him. He hated that she came home with bruises. When the New Year's s**t went down, Kor felt helpless that he didn't go help. He could have helped her with whatever drove her to her epic depression that caused a bit of tension between the pair. She was over it (mostly) now, but he had a feeling it'd come back in waves for a long, long time.
Kor was definitely going to have to up his game. He wasn't going to let her do these things by herself anymore. That he promised.
