Andy nodded, placed Hexxis on the table and backed up slowly, fear in her eyes as she could barely process what had happened. This girl, Kage's friend, she was a child, and she was dead. Not breathing. No heartbeat. There was movement in the other room, some talking she could here as she moved closer to the doorway the purple-haired meta had exited.
'Andy is here.' 'Are you kidding?!' 'No, she brought a girl with her.' 'I thought she was dead.' 'Did she say what happened?' 'No.' 'Who's the girl?' 'I don't know.' 'Not Melody.' 'I've never seen her before.' 'Well... get in there!' 'Wait, is it really Andy? Andy is here?!'
Andy shifted nervously as she waited, she turned to move back to Hexxis but stopped as multiple people entered the room. The purple haired Meta moved straight to the table and began to heal wounds. He was followed into the room by a smaller black-haired meta with glasses and a medical mask, a black haired girl who looked like a doll, and then the final person was a pink-haired man with blue eyes that walked right up to her and embraced her into a hug. She panicked and shoved him back scared. "..wh-what are you... doing?" she asked reflecively, drawing back.
Zaku frowned, "Andy, what's wrong? Oh god, we thought they'd killed you."
"Oh my god.... I'm in a renegade base, aren't I...." her eyes widened as the realization his her that these were renegade members and Blaise had sent her to one of their hideouts. Her eyes darted between people, she couldn't recognize anyone, as she panicked and back up further.
"She's resistant to healing, and Michael, deactivate the inhibitors. ********, remove them. Why the does she have three?! Sick bastards."
"Done." Michael walked over to the table, ready to start removing the collar.
"Zaku. Andy. I need you both to help me heal her. There's no heartbeat, but if we can heal her body and try to jumpstart her heart, there might be a chance we are not too late."
Looking down at Hexxis, he paused. "Hey, uhh... Zaku, you might want to see this..."
Zaku leaned over to look at the girl and then eyes widened in horror. "No no no, why did you bring her here?! You have to take her back right now!" he instructed. "You put her right back where you found her."
Andy glared hard at him, "She's just a little girl!! At least help her!!! I'll take her back myself then, just please... help her."
Zaku sighed, calming down from his initial panic. "Not necessary. It's fine. Here's what's going to happen..." he moved to Hexxis and began to heal her as well with Lucian. "We will do our best. And regardless of the results, you all have about 30 minutes to get to the next hideout. It's likely the inhibitors had tracking, and it won't be long before SIU is swarming this place to get her back. I will stay here with her when they come."
"Are you insane?! No, we heal her, and leave her here with a nice note that says, here, you can have her back now, Later. Hope you guys don't kill us all during the parley, no hard feelings." he glared at Zaku, "Cordelia would never let you stay here with her."
"They think she's dead."
"Well... she is."
"Michael!"
"Welcome to the real world, Andy. People die. They die because of your actions. How much you want to bet she's the one that hurt her in the first place. What did your regret set in too much? Did your morality finally kick you hard enough to wake the ******** up?"
Andy looked devasted as the sting of the words hit directly to her heart. "Wh-what?"
A girl with firey haired suddenly emerged into the room, "MICHAEL! LANGUAGE!!" she scolded angrily. "Don't mind my brother, Andy. I'm glad you are okay... I thought I saw you when we invaded SIU, but I thought maybe I was just imagining things." she shifted her eyes to Hexxis and sighed. "She's a really strong fighter, so be careful, you guys. If she wakes up, we all might have trouble on our hands. It might be best to restrain her."
"With pleasure."
Andy walked over to the table and watched, trying to heal as well the best she could.
"Melody!!!" a horned boy ran in and came to the table suddenly, then hesitated and frowned. "...who's that?..."
"Luekos! You shouldn't be in here!!"
"Let him... And I think I heard them call her Hexxis."
Leukos stared at her, a sorrowed look on his face as he reached up and stroked her hair softly.
After some time, it was getting too close to the time they'd to leave by. Everyone else had left except Lucian, Luekos, Zaku, and Andy. "We are out of time, we have try to start her heart. It's now or never!!"
Andy nodded and placed her hands on the girls chest and charged her hands suddenly, acting like a defibrillator. The girl's body jolted as she tried twice. Three times. A fourth. It looked hopeless as nothing seemed to work. He wound were healed enough to not be lethal anymore, but still she would breath and her heart would not start again.
"Hey.... I know you're in there... Help us... Wake up now." he continued to stroke her hair.
Another hit of electricity and nothing. Andy was overwhelmed with tears, scared that it was just too late now.
"...come on, wake up.. I know you can save her... Wake up."
Another hit.
"There's a pulse!
"..oh my gods.."
"We have to leave now... before she fully wake up."
"Okay, everybody out, we have to go."
"What about Blaise and Kylar?"
"Who?"
"Don't worry about them, Blaise already knows what to do." he looked to Lucian. "Raise a flag, and then we get out. Now."
"We can't just leave her here!"
Lucian reactivated the inhibitors but left them on the table next to her. He sighed, looking at Zaku and Andy then left the room with Luekos.
As soon as Lucian left the room, he looked to her. "We have no say in this matter. She is not a subject of their. She is one of them. She works with SIU, so we can't take her as a hostage. She's not an orphan,.. she is theirs." he explained then grabbed Andy's hand and led her out of the hideout to leave. "It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. At least you helped save her life, right? That's all someone could ask for. Who knows, maybe your kindness will be repaid later on. We will have to see where fate leads us."
----------------- An Hour Later ---------------------------
A small groan as her eyes opened slowly. This was different. Didn't look like any facility, though what would she know, each one seemed far different than the last. She tried to sit up but pain would not allow her, and furthermore, her body refused to move from beneath the ropes that tied her to the table. "...what's the meaning of this...." she asked as she looked over to someone who had been stroking her hair until the moment she woke up.
Luekos smiled, "I'm Luekos.... How's Hexxis doing?"
She raised her eyebrow inquisitively. "....she's... alive." she answered simply, confused how this boy knew that she wasn't Hexxis. She then sighed and moved her gaze to the ceiling above her. "...barely... It will take time for her to recover.. So I guess I'm in charge for now." she seemed rather calm now. Even she didn't understand why she seemed so at ease around this boy. "I am Ashral Muramasa."
He nodded and placed his hand in hers softly. "Do you know how to get home, I'll take you there."
She twinged with confusion as he put his hand in hers but didn't fight it. She closed her eyes, "Not really, but I don't think we are very far. It's the large compound for the research facility. Do you know where that is?"
He began to untie her, "I think.. I can figure it out. Come on, let's walk together." he reached out to help her down from the table.
Ashral nodded and moved from the table, wincing lightly as her wounds still weren't completely healed. She was covered in blood as she sighed. "She needed new clothes anyway." she stumbled lightly and fell to the floor, too weak to stand. "..h-hey... do you... think we can just sit here... for a bit... I kinda used a lot of my power... to bring her back..."
"Yeah, that's okay..." he reached up and retrieved her inhibitors from the table and sat next to her, looking the restraints over. "Do you think maybe they will come for you?"
She sighed and leaned on him, resting her head on his shoulder. "Who knows... I figure Tri might... but they think she's dead, so maybe not..." She closed her eyes, relaxing. "..I'm going to... sleep for a bit.."
Luekos nodded and smiled, interlacing his hand into her again. "That's fine.. I'll be here when you wake up.."
