The adults were chatting, keeping a watchful eye on the children as they played outside with each other. The it was pretty nice out, nothing out of the ordinary that the Bakeneko could think of. Just another average day.

And Margret couldn't help but feel bored. She was sitting out of the way, but still in sight of the others. She had been following around some of the other kids as they went around playing, but she didn't feel like they wanted her to join so she moved on from group to group until she eneded up where she was. She sighed, wishing she had brought a book or something to keep her busy.

Margret's ears perked, turning towards the other child before she did. It took her a moment before she spoke as she looked the other up and down. They had fluffy big ears, akin to her own, and a furry tail, though it wasn't split in two at the end. They also had delecate looking wings. She figured that this child was what she had heard was a hybrid. She had seen some Naga and Bakeneko hybrids back home and some other hybrids around school, but hadn't really gotten the chance to have talk to them much.

"You wanna play with me?" She smiled, very eager for conversation. She patted the spot next to her. "We can talk and play and stuff like that. I've been waiting for someone to offer!" She was honestly thinking about heading back in if no one showed any interest. "We can do anything really, I just don't wanna be bored." The Bakeneko's pink tipped tail swayed a little as she spoke and her smile grew wide with excitement.

The litte Bakeneko's face flushed almost unnoticably as she stammered to state her name. "I'm sorry! My name is Margret! It's nice to meet you Alexander. She smiled even though she was embarrassed. "Oh and I'm sorry if I was staring!" She had a bad habit of doing that. She still wanted to know all about these different races. "Back home there are only Bakenekos and Nagas and I've seen some hybrids but not many. I think there are many but mama says they have to stay inside a lot for some reason..." Her voice softened and she looked down at the ground, still embarrased for staring.

"So you're a hybrid of a Grimm and a...?" She wasn't quite sure and didn't want to jump to conclusions. "A firefighter? you'll keep everyone safe." That was really cool to her. "I want people to be safe too! I want to make charms and maybe be an enchanter! That will keep people safer for a long time." She nodded confidently.

Margret didn't know much about the hybrids back home in the constantly swirling sands, but she knew that they were there. She did see a lot more out and about at the academy though, but she ust assumed that was because there were just so many people around. There had to be tons more hybrids.

"So you can't fly, right? You're wings look soft and thin." She mulled over this for a moment. They didn't look like they could hold much weight. It wouldn't be safe to try to fly. "I met someone who couldn't fly. She said it was because her wings were too small and wouldn't get bigger. But she liked swimming so it's kinda the same." She rambled on a bit before taking a breath and listening more to Alexander.

Her ears perked up when the child had shown some interest in what she wanted to do. "It's really cool! I've been reading up on it!" Her golden eyes sparkled as she went on. "If you make charms, you can give someone some simple magic, like cleaning a stain off of something but you only can use that once. If you enchant then it lasts way longer and can work on bigger stuff like houses! You can protect a house from fires!" She smiled sheepishly and stood up. "I'm really excited now! Wanna play something?"

Margret played with the ends of her hair thoughtfully. "I don't want to put you out of the job..." She paced a bit in front of Alexander, still mulling this over. "Well, if there are still firefighters now, I wouldn't threaten your job. Everyone will just be extra safe! If an enchantment wears off and there is a fire, that's where you come in!" She nodded, with a smile. "And you're right, forest fires are a thing." She skipped closer to Alexander. "Enchantments can help firefighters too! We can be partners!"

At that moment she got an idea. "I know! Let's play firefighter! I'll enchant your equipment and we can fight fires together!"

Margret watched as Alexander climb up the jungle gym and ran to the base of it."Oh!" She thought Alexander might be the firefighter first. She thought for a moment before pretending to have a firehouse and spray the base of the jungle gym. It's not like this was a real fire or anything! She didn't need to really worry about anyone getting hurt. But he could fall....

She shook those silly thoughts from her head and yelled up at the child "Don't worry sir!" She giggled, pretending to put out the flames with water. "Once this fire's out, I'll come and rescue you!"

They continued playing, switching from firefighter and person in distress until the caretakers called all the kids back, telling them that it was time to take a break and get snacks.
