Alma didn't stay still, she went hard to work after Chal left. There were surprises planned and no time to waste! Her first duty was to get the stone she needed. Finding the extra stone then working what she had in had taken her days but once her powers recharged from the effort, the rest was smooth sailing. For once, her building and blocks happened outside the house rather then be a death trap for her poor momma.

As the day came for her and Chal to take their trip, Alma was outside covered in rock dust. The house she was building was far more important and had her full focused attention. House was probably a strong word for it, as the structure only stood about a foot off the ground, but it was in the shape of a fully functioning house, rooms and all. What her stone powers couldn't create, a little wood and tools finished. After he saw it there was an idea of turning it into a house for Kitcat. The idea was forming much like the house would eventually.

The other was on making her own house. She loved her mother to pieces but growing as she was, there was a real plan to make a home for herself. Where she didn't know but it would be neat to truly make her own place. That was part of the reason she put so much effort into the little house, to impress Chal and show him what she could do.

A meow from her little kitten drew her attention from her work, smiling she said, "It looks awesome doesn't it? I wonder when Chal will be.." Oh, she probably should look better for him. Looking down at the dust and the dirt from her efforts, the young adult darted back into her house leaving a little trail of dirt behind. The door closed leaving the familiar outside sitting on the roof of the stone house Alma made.

Chal was thoughtful for most of his walk to Alma's home, mostly pondering which number of date this actually was. Did he count the first date that they were dared to go on, or the second date where he tried to make up for what he had believed to be a botched dare date. Was this even a date? It had seemed that they had come to some sort of agreement that this was a date. The poor male wasn't even sure he knew what a date was anymore. Hanging out with a girl he kind of, sort of, really liked... He hoped it was a date.

It was different this time. After the dare date, he hadn't thought about Alma the way he did now. How did he think about her now? Well he didn't stop thinking about her for one thing, and with all the stuff going on at home with missing family members, he was busy daydreaming. His head was in the clouds, imagining himself and Alma to be the stars of one of his mother's fairytale books.

At some point on the walk, he had to pull his head out of the clouds, he didn't know the way to Alma's house so well that he could walk there as mindlessly as he was trying to. Chal needed to pay attention or else he was going to get lost and completely miss it.

When he did arrive at Alma's home, he stood a little ways away, staring at it with a stumped expression on his face. Something looked different, he squinted, staring at the cat perched on top of the tiny little house. Was he at the right house, but there was something about that cat that seemed familiar. Chal grinned, deciding he had definitely met this kitten before. "Katkit, that's your name, huh" he said, reaching a hand out to pet the animal he had mixed up the name of. At least he knew he was at the right place now.

Kitkat looked up from his perch on the house he'd claimed and meowed at Chal. Giving the look of judgment only a cat can pull off, the cake thief sized the man up. Considering him to the appropriate amount of time, Kitkat decided to allow Chal to pet him. Leaning up enough he connected the top of his head to the hand reaching towards him.

Alma busied herself inside the house trying to look presentable. Normally she didn't care much about how she looked, but Chal was coming. That thought made her heart flutter and her fuss with her hair. The short crop had always been her saving grace with everything she got into but now it just wasn't doing anything cute. She couldn't tie it back nicely and it wasn't twisting into anything remarkable. With a huff she gave up, just tucking the front locks behind her ears.

Taking a deep breath she turned and headed back to the door. Unsure exactly when Chal was going to be there, the nymph wanted to make sure she was there to greet him. Instead he greeted her, or rather Kitkat whom seemed to get along pretty well with her date.

For once in her life, she paused, standing there just watching the two of them with a smile. Then she lunged forward her arms out to hug the possibly unsuspecting male, "Chal! Its great to see you!" Dispite her efforts, there was still rock dust on her neck and just bairly hidden by her hair around her ears. She had tried to look like she didn't work in a quarry but missed the mark a bit. At the moment, it was farthest from her mind.

For a moment, Chal wasn't sure what the cat was going to do. It almost felt like he could breathe a sigh of relief after the cat pushed into his hand. Instead, he smiled softly and patted the cat on the head. Then, it felt like all the air had been forced out of his lungs, but in a good way if possible because he knew there was only one pae who would give him an energetic hug like that. Alma.

He chuckled, "It's great to see you too Alma." He hadn't actually even seen her yet when he said that, since she had caught him off guard. Chal hugged her back tightly before they separated. She was as adorable as always, even with the smudges of dust on her. The dust had almost gone unnoticed, but for Chal they had just added to her cuteness.

"I was just making friends with your cat", he said nodding to the cat, which he had unfortunately neglected for a whole minute due to Alma being someone he was more interested in. Their brief friendship was likely over due to his mistake. The male took a deep breath, "How have you been... This past week?" He said. It felt like it had been longer, probably because of the way he had been pining for my time with her, it made time pass much slower.

Kitkat for his part deigned to give Chal a little purr, it was a gift of high order. The sudden and expected entrance of his servant number one caused him to jump back. He purposely jumped off the house in a graceful manner, he did not fall!

Alma for her part laughed when he hugged her back happily existing in the moment. Holding on tightly, she only let go when he had. Standing back a little her eyes went to the caketheif now seated properly on the roof of the little house staring at her. Brightly she sad, "Isn't Kitkat adorable? He is a sweetie." With great fondness she reached down and rubbed the cat's ear, he was deciding to forgive her at that moment.

There was a pause, it had been a week? It felt shorter due to being busy yet oddly it had seemed longer as well. Odd week. With her normal level of great enthusiasm, Alma gestured to the house with both hands and proudly told him, "I have been great, busy building a house! I couldn't wait to show you!" That was the truth if there was ever a truth to be told. Due to her ability, the house was seamless the lines melding together as if it was all one stone only breaks were for windows and doors. Finer detailing had clear tool marks on it.

Chal nodded his head in agreement with Alma, "Oh Kitcat!" he responded, recalling the cat's actual name. "Yes, he is cute." Chal looked down at the cat that bore a mysterious resemblance to another cutie he knew.

Chal looked at the tiny house, the thing that had been different and had thrown him off as he had approached Alma's larger house. "So I finally get to see your skills at work." His eyes met her's for a moment, "You've been really busy" He bent at the knees, getting down to a more level position with the miniature house and scooting his way around it. "Wow, I've never seen anything like this..." The scale of it was incredible, and the fact that she was able to do such fine details on such a small scale, her talent was not unnoticed by the male. Beyond that, it looked like no other home that Chal had ever seen and reminded him more of Venus' temple than of his cave home, and that was the palace of a goddess. "You're amazing, Alma. And Kitcat seemed pleased with it too."

Pleased by his praise, she blushed a little and told him, "One day I want to build my own home big enough for all my friends and family, at least to visit. Maybe even build homes for other pae to keep them safe and comfortable." Maybe he'd like one to? Near hers.

Kitkat's mew make her look over as she added, "He does, likes to sun on the roof. I am thinking of taking the rooms out so he can sleep inside but not settled on it yet." To be fair, he might not use the inside, sunning on the roof seemed to be his interest.

Still, she added, "I am glad you like it." It did mean a lot that he praised her work.

"I remember that," he nodded his head. He couldn't forget her ambitious dream of building homes for her friends and family. "I'm sure that will be a lot of work, that's really sweet of you." He lightly tapped on the wall of the sturdy little home. Chal wondered if there was even the slightest possibility of there being room for him in her future home.

Chal straightened up, "Is this what you want your home to look like?" He asked her. He wished he could so something incredible like this for Alma, a grand gesture like building her dream home, but it was something he knew nothing about, maybe there was something different he could do though.

"So where are these al...pacas... You wanted to see?" He didn't sound very certain that he had gotten the name of the creature right, the male squinted thoughtfully.

Watching him look at her home just made her bubble with pride. "I think so, the final design is still a work in progress. Not sure where it will end up so there are still factors to play with." If she lived in the jungle near her mother a grand stone dwelling wouldn't look right but would give her natural things to work with. If she lived in the open plans area, it would have to look different just to fit it kind of seamlessly. There were so many things to consider and where the future was taking her wasn't clear yet. "I'd love your input when it happens, though!"

Bringing up alpaca diverted the trains of thought into a the land of adorable. Bouncing a little place she cheered, "Alpaca! This way!" Reaching for his hand, she tried to capture one of them while at the same time pushing forward eager to get moving. It would take them a little while to get there but it wasn't forever far away.

It had been a while since she had talked to the nice man but surly everything was there hand not going anywhere.

He nodded his head in understanding. Chal had never given much thought to where he would like to make a life for himself, perhaps because he felt he needed to find a life first. It did seem like it was something important to consider. "Of course!" He piped up, "You can ask me anything, anytime." Chal wasn't sure how much he'd actually be able to contribute, especially since it was clear to him that she already had such good taste, but he would love to try and help her anyways.

Just like that she had grabbed his hand and he felt a small tug as she moved forward. He was about used to her sudden movements by now, and had actually been surprised that one hadn't happen already, apart from the hug. "Glad you know where you're going." He relished in the fact that they were holding hands as he followed her towards this alpaca thing she had been so excited about. Chal was more excited about getting to see something new with Alma.

Holding on to Chal's hand, Alma eagerly led the way. It was somewhere she had never been but remembered enough of what the man had said to be confident. It was leave the jungle and follow the road. The way out of the jungle was pretty easy, the road had to be just beyond.

Endless confidence lead to her quick pace, at times exuberance kept her feet of the ground. There wasn't a rush, the Alpaca weren't going to just vanish before they go there. At least, the man never said they could do that. No, it wasn't haste just good old excitement.

Chal couldn't help but grin at Alma's infectious excitement as they rushed off to see the alpacas. The male was going to have to work on his endurance if he was ever going to keep up with Alma. He didn't let his ware show, he was all smiles, and really it was hard to even feel tired when you were so happy. He was just probably going to feel it later.

As they left the jungle and hit the main road, Chal had to wonder what this place was like that they were heading to. It seemed to him that they would be there in no time though. Chal would steal glances at Alma every once in a while, and couldn't help but think about how much she glowed with her spirit.

Alma was full steam ahead bounding excitedly forward. Her mind was filled with different ideas of what an alpaca could look like. Just being out of the jungle into something real was exciting. Most her life was that one wonderful place besides all the places her grandmother used to take her far back in a memory made dream.

No this was real and exciting, Chal's hand was comfort enough that it was true.

They met the road then a fence line appeared in the distance. "Where almost there!" Her words came out a little winded but all the same giddy. Looking to Chal she beamed at him brightly bouncing in place before cheering, "This is so much fun!" She was having a ball and they hadn't even gotten to the alpaca. Just the journey itself, knowing they were going somewhere together was fun.

Giving his hand a little squeeze, just the slight added pressure a moment because she loved just the feeling of his hand in hers. She pushed on again, one foot in front of the other not going near as fast nor letting go of his hand as she moved.

In the bushes as they left, a small angry pink cat watched.

A Ranch known for its hospitality, Aloiki was no exception. Kara had spotted the new figures leaving the jungle from her patrol. The first thing she did was tell Aloiki, and worry it might have followed them. Aloiki told his sister to tell Corazon and he'd go meet the approaching figures.

Taking the harness of one of their oldest and friendliest alpaca, the spirte walked the way to the fence line and waved to the figures. Looked like a bouncing red-head and an equally happy silver haired figure. Appeared to be holding hands, darn it. Ah well, his smile didn't falter and he wouldn't' stop waving until one of them waved back. Maybe they were here to visit and stay? The ranch could use more pae.

Alma's hand had become so familiar to Chal during their brisk walk, that he had nearly forgotten that they were holding hands. When she squeezed his hand, it reminded him and he glanced down at their locked hands, it made him feel so warm inside. "This is pretty amazing." He agreed. Some might think that their little journey had been uneventful so far, but not for Chal, just spending time with Alma was always amazing. It was hard to believe that he would never have had this much fun if he hadn't been dared to ask her on a date.

As the winged stranger approached them, escorting an unfamiliar animal with him, Chal returned the wave with his free hand. He then looked at Alma, reading her expression to see if she recognized the pae, perhaps the one who had told her about alpacas. He didn't see any sort of recognition on her face. "Hello!" He called out to the stranger as they drew closer to each other.

Alma had no idea who the male was, but happily waved back with Chal. She added more jumping in place, naturally. "Its so cute!" What ever was with the long haired male was adorable. Was that an alpaca? Looked a lot like how the man described it. The creature looked so fluffy!

It was the same story, all eyes on the alpaca, not that he could blame them. Growing up with the creatures he had a deep connection to them from as long as he could remember. As they were close enough for him to hear them, he called out, "Greetings and welcome to the Ranch! I am Aloiki and this is Zoe." Motioning to the alpaca to his side, he nudged her shoulder to get her to do the trick. She was the only one to take to tricks of any sort. Now was no exception as the alpaca, Zoe, lowered her head in the motion of a bow that Aloiki copied with a huge smile.

That was adorable, Alma giggled the instant they bowed in line as a greeting. She was sure they were in the right place now. Ranch was familiar even if the male wasn't. Zoe was just so cute! Taking the time she took in the whole of the ranch. There was a large house, the only one for pae it seemed, then a barn followed by a few more structures that looked like they were also used to keep animals. Two different builders by her assessment rapid glances told her a lot of the the design styles and needs. For this to be as big as the man had described, there needed to be more houses for more families and the animals.

"A nice man told me about the Ranch and its famous alpaca." She explained what had brought them there as she tried to stand still long enough to talk with the spirit. The desire to reach out and pet the alpaca was strong in this one.

Aloiki listened intently as polite and remarked with a huge smile, "That must have been my father," He was referring to Stia but it was a different truth all together. "Zoe here is one of the original herd of Alpaca. We are known for them and our hospitality. If my mother isn't hard at work on something for you I'd be surprised." Chuckling warmly he was happy to see another with appreciation for the animal at his side. "Word of advice, you can try to tell her no, but it won't work." Zofie took hospitality seriously always welcoming but never taking no for an answer. He idolized her and tried to emulate her warmth.
