Rallying those with proper transportation, Kyou called forth any and all of the party goers - whether they had seen the catastrophe inside firsthand or not - to join him on the mad hunt for Fel Essences.
Since there is only one detection device for fel essences, and the fel essences had been scattered all over the city of Gaia, Kyou had to whip up some quick magic in order to help with the search.
Each team will get a petri dish filled with water, with a silver sewing needle in it. The silver needle will help guide the team to the nearest fel essence that they will need to recapture. However, unlike the device that Kyou has that has a huge tracking distance, the silver needle in the petri dish can only track fel essence in a half mile radius, and it will cease to function by midnight.
Each team will also get a bag filled with a handful of empty glass vials and jars that is meant to keep fel essences within. Because Kyou has a feeling that the scattered fel essences might not be in their original vessels anymore. Inside each vial and jar is a small piece of paper with inscriptions on it. It is meant to draw in fel essences that has no physical form, such as fel essences related to sound or wind. However they will need to be fairly close to the fel essence in order for this to happen. This was also a last minute magic that Kyou came up with, because he will be unable to come with the teams for the hunt due to his... disability. He would only slow everybody down. Should the teams run out of glass vials or jars, they could return to the Lab where Kyou is for more.
Fel essences are radioactive, although they have a fairly low level of it.That is why they should be handled with care. The radioactivity of fel essences are harmless to Raevans though, so if permissible, it is best to have a Raevan handle the fel essence. If that option is not viable, it is best to protect yourself when retrieving the fel essence. Whether with gloves or other form of protection. It is best not to have skin contact with the fel essence, as it might have long term effects.
With that said, when the teams are ready, they should head out and search for the missing fel essences.

[1] This meta event works similarly to the Meaning of Fear meta a few years back. With a few adjustments. [2] Each group will get their own threads to RP in. Your RP opponent or what I prefer to call 'Game Master' will be the shop mule Anachrophobia who will be replying in the form of RP prompts to give you challenges and reply to your reactions. [3] The shop mule will start the thread, but the participants will be the one to start the RP. [4] Please roll a 6-sided dice when you start the RP. This will decide where you start your RP at. It is best advised to assign one person to do this, preferably the person starting the RP. Please refer to list below for the numbered locations. You may decide/describe how said location look like. [5] The groups this time had been predetermined, you don't get to choose who to go with. IC-ly, it is Kyou trying to equalize the amount of people in each group and the balance of strengths. The method of deciding who is in which group, is half randomized and half personally assigned by me. [6] Dice rolling might be prompted from the GM, to determine what may or may not happen, or decide where you go next. [7] You and your team can decide the posting order. The Game Masters don't really care. [8] THIS RULE IS IMPORTANT!!!!!! When it is your turn to reply in the RP, you only have 3 DAYS (aka 72 hours) to reply. If you don't, the Game Master will butt in and remove your character from the meta permanently. The next person in the posting order will have 3 days from the Game Master's reply to reply as well. [9] The rule above only applies to characters. If you signed up two characters for the meta, congratulations!! You got a second chance. If you didn't, goodbye. However, the Game Master chooses who to KO. [10] As this is a time sensitive RP event, please do not be pressured to write long elaborate RP posts. You need to progress through the city and not linger. That also means, please do not expect long replies from the mule either. [11] Only characters that had been signed up for in the Meta sign up thread and had 'checked in' in the ORP event before the bird shenanigans can participate in this Meta event. [12] When the Game Master enters your RP rotation, they are part of the RP rotation! You are not allowed to skip over a GM post or conveniently forgot about them because you're too excited. Game Masters will delete your extra posts if this happens. [13] Your quest to find the fel essences will end when you have found 5 fel essences, or when the one month period had passed. Certainly, even if you've found 5 fel essences and wish to continue, please inquire to do so!

((Edit: Hah! The library. Where else emotion_awesome )) One of the fundamental things that could be said about Lab 305 was this. Matters tended to get out of hand very quickly. One moment they were laughing and having polite conversations with each other beneath the picturesque cherry blossoms and the next they were being bombarded by a flock of frenzied birds and had several fel essences stolen. Xiu had listened grimly while the Doctor explained the situation. Nevermind that each of the fel essences stolen might potentially be another raevan, it turned out that some of them could be harmful if released. For example, the Eye of Fear was one fel essence that Xiu would not even wish upon his worst enemy. If he had one. Hypothetically speaking of course. Thankfully though, there was no mention of that fel essence going missing. Xiu was quite sure someone would have said something if it had. Supplied with Dr. Kyou’s makeshift items and a map of Barton Town, Xiu regarded his team mates thoughtfully. Prior to this catastrophe, he had not had the pleasure of meeting them. Even though one of them was a guardian to a friendly looking frei. “Hello, it is unfortunate that we meet under such circumstances. My name is Xiu,” said the Sigel with a polite nod to his team mates. “We have been assigned Barton Town. Anyone has a car we could use?”

Everything happened so quickly, Louis was still feeling pretty disorientated. First, he was invited to a party, then he got attacked by birds, and now after being patched up, he was roped into helping the Lab find things called Fel Essences? Louis was not the smartest person around, so he needed a lot more time to digest everything. After getting his bearing, he took a look at the team that was assigned to him. Standing in front of him was two of the people that were missing their lower half, a Raevan if he recalled correctly, and another human like him. One of the Raevan, who had a little more body than the other spoke. “Hello, it is unfortunate that we meet under such circumstances. My name is Xiu,”Xiu, that was the name of the Raevan. "Hi Xiu," Louis returned the greetings. "I'm Louis and the furball around my neck is Peri". Peri was wrapped around Louis's neck, her head hidden out of sight. She was still pissed off at the birds to say the least. Those nasty demons. "I have my truck," Louis spoke up. "If y'all don't mind the smell of fish..." Amity had wanted to go. Ronan hadn't. Eventually, Ronan had caved, not wanting to leave Amity on her own, but his nerves were still rather high strung. He hoped that since they were staying in more urban areas they would be okay but with the lab... there was no telling how things would go.
Ronan gave a polite nod at the greetings from the other two. "I'm Ronan."
"Amity."
The frei stayed fairly close to Ronan's side, the selkie giving a sigh of relief at the mention of the truck. There were times that he really disliked not being able to drive, but luckily it wasn't a issue this time.
"I'll be fine with the truck. Ready to leave when you guys are."

The Sigel gave a glance at the catlike creature around Louis’s neck. It was certainly…interesting and Dr. Kyou probably had something to do with it. That Doctor had churned out some pretty bizarre creatures in the past. Laz had showed him a cat-octopus hybrid once. Compared to that, Peri almost seemed normal. By Lab standards at least. “The truck would do. Barton is an old town and is covered by a network of streets and alleys. It works in our favour as we would be able to weave between buildings without needing to get out of the vehicle. With the exception of larger buildings and parks where the half a mile radius does not overlap of course. For that we will acquire such maps as we can there and see if we are able to do a systemic search…,” Although, it certainly feels like searching for a needle in a haystack… … We need to improve the odds Closing his eyes for a moment, Xiu tried to picture Barton Town’s layout. It helped that the Sigel grew up in Barton. There were six prominent locations there. Scribbling down these areas onto pieces of papers and folding them up, Xiu then randomly picked one. Assuming that there was a stolen fel essence hidden in Barton, then the probability of it being in one of the six locations is about 16.7%. Well, approximately. There were more unknowns here than manipulating the probability of a fifty-four card deck. It still had some bugs that he’d need to work out. For now though… “Library road. Let’s go,” Turning to Ronan and Amity, Xiu offered them the petri dish containing the bewitched silver needle. “Would you like to keep an eye on the compass then? Give a shout if it reacts to something,” ((I guess we could just skip ahead to the library area? XD ))

After giving his greetings to Ronan and Amity, Louis herded everyone onto the truck. Sure, it wasn't the best thing to do, he wished he had more time to get to know the people he was travelling with but this whole mission sounded like a really important task. When they were all in, Peri got off his shoulder and tucked herself into her special seat on the top of the dashboard. The truck's engine soon sprang into life and they were off. - It didn't take long before they had arrived at the Library. Louis had a fair understanding of the streets of Barton, he had been here a few times before but if it wasn't for Xiu's navigation, they would've taken much longer. Louis wasn't exactly book smart. Parking the car right by the library, he looked at Ronon and Amity. "How's it lookin'?"

Neither of them had really gone to Barton before so both Ronan and Amity let the others lead the way, quietly riding in the back of the truck. Once they arrived at the library Amity took out the needle - they'd been passing it between the two of them during the trip. "I... think it's reacting?" Her brow furrowed as she looked at the spelled item. It seemed to be moving, but she couldn't tell which direction yet, and if she was wrong it could also just be her jostling it.

Xiu took leave of the passenger seat beside Louis to join Amity and Ronan in the back of the truck. Observing the quivering needle in the Frei’s hand, the Sigel’s brows furrowed slightly. “It is definitely reacting to something. But the signal isn’t very strong,” “Louis, could you perhaps drive the truck around the perimeter of the library? Perhaps we would get a stronger reaction the closer we are to the fel essence. It can’t be far. Well, it can’t be more than half a mile…,” said Xiu wryly. "I will sit with Amity and Ronan to keep an eye on the compass,"

On command, Louis started his truck once again and began to slowly cruise around the Library. Judging from the reaction of those at the back, they don't seem to be near the missing Essence. While driving, Louis began to think about what had happened. Birds of all kind just came out of no where and began to steal, things would've been so much easier if it was only one type of bird; They all had a specific place they would nest. As they came around the back of the library, a thought crossed his mind. Birds tend to nest in high areas and they would bring things they find back to their nest. Could the Essence be on the roof instead? "Hey guys," Louis shouted to the back "Do y'all think it might be on the roof?"

Amity's ears perked up at the mention of the roof, the frei stretching out the side of the truck to get a good look at the building. She hummed in thought. "I'll fly up there to take a look!" And before Ronan could grab her Amity had squirreled out of the vehicle, winging up above the building with the compass cradled in her hand, watching closely to see if it'd react. Ronan was left face-palming for a few moments, eventually dragging his hand down his face and giving an apologetic look to the others. "Sorry..." Looking at the roof wasn't a bad idea, but Amity's method of charging forward without any consultation left a little to be desired.

Although a smart idea to consider the roof, the Essence was not to be found there. When Amity flew up to check the area the compass needle spun around to point the opposite way, as if suggesting 'down'. The group would have to go inside the building, however judging by the few people exiting with books or bags in tow, it didn't seem as if anything was going awry inside either. Curious.

Xiu was impressed. Louis’s suggestion made sense. There was no rule saying that the fel essence was limited to the planar restrictions of an average human. When Amity took to the skies, Xiu followed suit on the pretext of keeping the young frei safe. Just in case things got out of hand. But despite Louis’s sound idea, the needle of the compass indicated otherwise. In fact, it seemed to indicate that their search should be done within the library building itself. Floating back down to the group, Xiu nodded towards the entrance of the large library. “Guess we’d have to go in there. Shall we bisect the library medially and see if the needle is pointing to the right or left half of the building? Then we can narrow our search accordingly?” Leading the way to the library’s entrance, Xiu relaxed slightly at the familiar smell of old books and furniture. He’d spent many a happy hour in this place.

When they came down with the news, Louis was kind of disappointed. He had hoped it would be around the perimeter of the library but of course, things never did go the way he wanted. Finding a spot by the side, he quickly parked his car. "Sorry Peri," he said as he lifted her and put her into her special backpack. "I'll need to be real quiet a'ight?" After getting Peri settled, he got out of the truck and joined the rest. "Yeah, that sounds good." Louis agreed. The library frightens Louis a little; He has a need to be loud and known but the library just snubs that out and it intimidated him. When they went in, Louis could feel himself tensing up. "How will we know if we find it?" he whispered
