Somewhere, stars winked in the night sky like jewels on velvet, but in the heart of Destiny City there were no stars to be seen, save for the singular point of too-sweet energy on Cinnabar's radar.
It made her sick to her stomach, the taste of it on her mind. She'd always disliked sweets and the purity in it was gag-inducing.
"I need the both of you to join me at the corner of Lexington and North Marshall, top of the Anders building. Keep it quiet. I have a training exercise for you." She said into the crystal she held up between her fingers.
Maybe I should get this thing made into a necklace... Schorl would know how, I think. Easier than fishing it out of my pocket.
Especially when it felt so close to the starseeds she kept there... it had been embarrassing the one time she'd accidentally pulled it out and bit down on it, expecting it to shatter and it didn't. That thought was a reminder and her stomach growled threateningly, clenching in need. Cinnabar winced and reached to fish one of the crystal shapes out of her pocket to pop between her lips. It shattered with a satisfying crunch and with it came a rush of energy and euphoria she got from nothing else these days.
The half-youma general rocked back on her heels then to savor the feeling while she waited for her pair of captains to join her, keeping a careful internal eye on the glowing signature she felt a few blocks away.

Chrysocolla was there, because when her General called her and she wasn't actually doing much of anything (aside from sitting and staring at the sky, cringing away from auras, just...sitting), if she did anything but immediately respond to the summons she'd be disappointed in herself. (If she was going to be training, though -- she couldn't waste any energy on teleports!! She'd picked herself up, dusted herself off, and started to run.) "Ah -- yes, General?" She smiled meekly, rounding the corner. "I came here as fast as I could...the both of us? If it's not a problem -- I mean, they'll be here soon anyways...who else did you call?"

Teleporting took a lot of energy, but he was quickly learning his limits, and if a General summoned him, then of course he was going to follow the order in an instant.
It took only a breath to teleport from where he was waiting in the park for his next victim to drain to where General Cinnabar waited for him and another on the roof of the building as instructed. The other must not have chosen to teleport as she appeared, out of breath, a little while later. Jet turned to assess her. She looked somewhat familiar but he couldn't quite place his finger on why. She was shorter than he was, but looked close to his age. And above all, she was a corrupted Senshi.
Jet held back a sneer and turned to face Cinnabar as he awaited orders. He has nothing against the negaverse corrupted Senshi, but his own prejudices towards Senshi in general was always difficult to push away.
Unlike the Senshi, he did not choose to speak out of turn, and held himself upright, his eyes hard with eagerness to prove himself.

Her captains came at her call with every evidence of willingness, even eagerness, and Cinnabar felt a deep satisfaction in that. She'd never had command of others before, but it was a heady feeling knowing she could command these two and they would obey, perhaps even with pleasure. It was something to get used to, but not to abuse. She had promised herself she wouldn't be like other Generals, who took their authority for granted... She wanted to keep that eagerness, encourage it. Soldiers who wanted to serve were far better than ones who did so only out of fear or obligation.
Jet arrived first and Cin's black red eyes flicked to him with approval, the teal-haired Chrysocolla arriving not long after in a more mundane manner. A smile spread across her face as the General stepped back from the edge and approached, taking up a position between and apart from them so they stood like three points to a triangle.
"You're both prompt... that's good." She lifted her chin as she pulled a hand from her pocket and gestured from one to the other. "Captain Jet. Corrupt Super Chrysocolla. I called the both of you because, at this point in time, you are the only two officers under me and I thought it was about time you met and we did some team work together. You've both been doing well, individually, but working with other officers is one of the hardest and most needful skills for Negaverse agents. Too many of us struggle with it and too many try to solo things that would have been better done in pairs or as a team."
The tall woman half turned, her tail flicking behind her knees, and waved her hand in the direction of the lone order signature she could feel moving away from them.
"I've tracked down one of our defectors, a senshi girl who purified a few months ago. I think it would be a good exercise for the three of us to take her down and deliver her to the General Queen." She glanced over at the corrupt, a half smile on her face. "Once you've caught your breath, of course. But not too long or we might lose her."
Cinnabar lifted her hands and pointed one in each direction, miming a path that traveled out, then curved inwards to meet.
"I'm going to send either of you to the sides to parallel her course... I want you to try to get ahead of her, and then close in and either block her in, or get her to turn back." She grinned as she brought her hands together, as though capturing the wayward senshi in between. "I'll come up from behind, either to catch her as she doubles back, or to drive her into you. Questions so far?"

Chrysocolla knew this Captain's face -- even if he didn't remember hers. To be fair, he'd left a much better impression than Pyrophanite (who she hadn't seen in a while, honestly; she probably didn't have a rank up on him now, but he was a jerk so who cared anyways) - she knew Captain Jet's face. It was doubtful he knew hers, though; she'd still been going by Warhol at Osumilite's meeting, and she'd still been so painfully shy. Less so, now. "It's nice to meet you again, Captain," she smiled, giving a polite little bob of the head. Chrysocolla would play it nice. Not only because that felt most natural, but because she wanted to impress Cinnabar, she wanted to be good. "Ah - I'm fine, General, I promise...! Um - do you know what she looks like? And just wondering, but...what do we do if other enemies show up?"

Jet glanced curiously at the woman called Chrysocolla, still trying to place where he knew her from. He knew he saw her face before, but the name just wasn’t matching up. Still, ne nodded in return and turned to listen to their orders.
The plan was simple enough. Corner the defector and bring her to the General Queen. He and the Corrupted Senshi would circle around and the General would come up from behind.
“Understood,” he said, drawing his two knives from subspace, his expression hardening with determination. He was still just a Captain, but he would use every opportunity he could to show that he was capable of more.
Jet could understand the other’s concern, but he didn’t think that information was vital.
“It doesn’t matter what she looks like. We’ll follow her aura. If it’s the wrong one, we’ll just capture that one instead,” he suggested, making to head towards the edge of the building. “If other enemies show up,” he said over his shoulder, although his gaze was not as harsh as it could have been. They were on the same team, after all. “We’ll take them out.”
With that, he jerked his head for her to follow. “I’ll take the left. What’s your magic?” he asked, hoping she could still hear him as he leapt across to the next building to follow the faint aura.

Cinnabar smiled as her captain pulled his knives out, focusing in on the task she had set him. He took her orders without questions and even took the initiative to answer Chrysocolla for her. As young as he seemed sometimes, Jet had potential to be a good soldier. All he needed, in her mind, was experience under his belt.
The corrupted, in contrast, was still uncertain of herself and her abilities. She had plenty of questions, which wasn't bad in itself. She needed the experience as much as Jet did, to build a foundation she could stand firmly on. Hopefully, tonight would give them all something beneficial, not the least of all Cinnabar herself, who remembered the days when she thought fighting alone was the only way to succeed. Learning to work with others... this was as much as lesson for her as for them.
"Blonde, green eyes." She called as Jet took off. "Her dress is leafy green. Others show up, regroup back with me."
Facing off against the enemy could be another good lesson for them all. Fighting along side comrades was another useful skill.
The General paused at the lip of the building and counted slowly to ten, giving the pair time to range out ahead of her and circle back. They needed time to get into position before she spooked the girl into running, or the trap would fail and they'd have to come up with something on the fly. They might have to anyway, but baby steps. Once the count reached ten, she jumped for the next building, setting off at an easy pace so she didn't over take the pair ahead of her too soon.(anyone is free to control the npc senshi, whatever works for your post at the time)

"My magic screws up people's emotions," Chrysocolla explained briefly to Jet, leaping to the opposite building to parallel the Captain's path. "I'll use it on her -- you'll get what I mean then." She quieted down, after that; no use being too loud and ruining everything and disappointing Cinnabar, was there? (Blonde hair, green eyes, leafy green dress. If this idiot girl thought she could go out only a month after leaving, like everyone would forget about her - she'd been wrong. No smarts! No smarts at all.) Heel to toe, spring off the rooftops, gently gently -- she'd gotten good at this, at the rhythm of kicking off and landing gently like it was nothing at all. It was repetitive. It was good. Every so often she looked over at Jet, to make sure she was going the right way, to make sure everything was correct - she'd wait for him to call out the mark, but Chrysocolla was scanning the streets and roofs all the same. She just didn't want to make a mistake, that was all.

Blonde, leafy green, green eyes. He kept that in mind as he leapt from one building to the next, trying to isolate the aura that was ahead of them.
"Their emotions?" he responded in surprise and then frowned thoughtfully to himself as he concentrated on making his way down from the rooftops to the alleys below. "Can you choose what emotion? Can you make her over confident?" he asked, adjusting his hold on the knife hilt as he landed on his feet on the ground.
The Senshi was close, he could feel it. He made a motion with his hand for the corrupted Senshi to get into position on the other side of him, while he approached from his side. What this traitor Senshi was doing out and about now, he didn't know. But they were already using her confidence to their advantage. Might as well make it even more over the top.

Cinnabar trotted along at a comfortable pace, taking her time and letting her two subordinates figure out their own roles here. Not too fast... if that senshi caught wind of her signature it would make things a good bit harder.
The senshi herself was in the alley between two buildings, pounding a youma to dust with her fists. Her sphere was obviously something plant based, and just as obvious, she had an extreme dislike for the monsters that served the Negaverse. It was hard to say if it was a recent thing or just something she had always felt. Youma weren't fond of corrupt senshi either, so it was entirely possible.
Cinnabar had a picture of her in her head now, each detail memorized from weeks to tracking her down. She'd watched her come and go in her patrols, fighting other agents and youma and in general being a nuisance. She'd watched until she knew her schedule and her contacts and her fighting style, and now... now she would bring down punishment on this wayward senshi for her betrayal.
A grin split Cin's face and she hummed happily. Jet and Chrysocolla would get a good chance today to met out justice.

At this distance, the girl really was pretty -- it was a shame, then, that she hadn't known her place the first time. Chrysocolla paused and waited for the youma to dissolve into an explosion of dust: when it did, when the girl was wiping the dust off her arms, she gave Jet a look and lighted down into the alleyway on one side, hair pushed over her shoulder. (The senshi was feeling their auras, now; looking around like she wasn't sure if she wanted to kill or start running. Good. Chrysocolla liked the fear in her eyes. It wasn't like this would be a nonviolent capture, anyways...why not have a decent enough time with it?) When the Captain moved, when Jet moved, she'd move, but -- taking the initiative on something that she'd been trusted with -- it was just a little too scary. A little too much.

The Senshi was busy offing a youma, which served as a perfect little distraction as they drew closer. He cloud almost sense the hesitance in his temporary partner, but he wasn't really bothered by it. He could understand the hesitation when it came to one's ability, but at least it didn't seem to be there when it came to actually hunting this Senshi down.
When it seemed as though the Senshi finally made up her mind to flee, Jet teleported in front of her to block her path. "Hello," he greeted, a dark gleam in his usually youthful eyes.
The corrupted Senshi should be close behind him, and Cinnabar not far after that. The Senshi spun around with a horrified look on her face for a moment, and then her desire to fight kicked in, giving up on her attempt to run. Jet moved to attack, his weapons raised when she called her magic.
He didn't hear what the name was, but he suddenly felt the bite of thorns digging into his leg from a magical vine of sorts that appeared from the ground. Jet let out a yelp of pain, even more so when the cuts he'd received started to burn, and he attempted to yank his leg away. He managed to untangle himself, but not before ruining the leg of his pants, p***k points of blood soaking into the fabric.

The two captains descended and it was the signal Cinnabar needed to dart to the side and teleport to the next roof over, putting herself at the other end of the alley.
She could hear the sound of scuffling just over the hum of traffic and city life before a voice shouted something that didn't sound like a cry for help. Cin's boots hit the ground hard as she dropped from the roof and darted into the alley proper. Jet's yelp of pain tugged at instincts and she very nearly charged head-long into the fray to save him... but the reminder that this was a lesson for her subordinates cooled her fire and she slowed her approach.
In the wild, young predators were often taught this way... a parent caught something and let it loose for them, watching from the sidelines while they worked out how to kill it. Jet and Chrys had made it to promotion; they had learned how to handle themselves well enough they had been recognized for it. This was one senshi, super ranked, against two captains. They should, theoretically, be able to handle her themselves. Rushing in would only steal the glory, and the benefit of the lesson, from them... but she was here, should things go sideways.
Cin's eyes narrowed at the group as she got within sight, just before their prey noticed her. The senshi was being aggressive, calling an attack like that...
"Chrys, magic, now!" She called. The moment was perfect... aggression, reversed, would make this an easy capture.

"G-got it," Chrysocolla breathlessly called back, murmuring her phrase under her breath and squeezing the forming energy between her hands - Jet had the senshi distracted, that was good - and when the other girl was still distracted, she lunged forward, one hand grabbing her opponent by the upper arm and the other hand shoving the magic into the senshi's body. It barely took any time to take effect -- she started to cower, trying to tear away from Chrysocolla's hand, shaking like she would shatter - and that was good. (Well. It did make Chrysocolla a little disgusted, in the back of her mind, that she was hurting someone like this. But she didn't worry about things like that. Cinnabar had told her what to do, and she would do it, and she didn't really care about what happened along the way??? Life was funny like that.)
