Remembering the Past
Prompt 3
Can be used toward Solo or RP req
It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.
Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.
How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?
[Characters not part or even alive during the war can still respond to this prompt. Maybe they have a different way of understanding the war compared to those who were part of it, so feel free to explore those feelings and thoughts in your response]

Today was a good day; Rayolun lay reclined on a rock slightly off shore and sunbathed as he watched his wife and daughters play in the shallows. He’d come a long way from where he’d first started! From alone in the jungles to meeting the love of his life… to losing her 7 years ago only to find her after 2 years. And now he had twin daughters running around! They were small and loud and he loved every minute of their mischief. Not that he’d let them know that! Then they wouldn’t take him seriously when he lectured them. There were times he simply wanted to go back to the peace of the jungle, the quiet of a solitary hunter’s life… but then he’d see their smiles and the feeling would pass.
As he listened to the waves crash into the shore, the water flow beside his rock, the laughter of his children, he let his mind wander. What would life be like without his family? If he’d never met Lasarra? It would certainly be quieter! He wouldn’t have suffered the loss of losing his wife… but then he wouldn’t have gained the joy he did have now. Would he even have married? If he hadn’t met Lasarra… He’d still have gone to the tournament. Still have met his adopted brother since Gerraraden had happened before Lasarra.. but his life would have been vastly different!
He did not like what had happened to Lasarra and and wished he could change time so it never occurred… but it had made them both stronger in some ways. And overprotective, he smiled at that. Perhaps the biggest change would be his intense distrust of the Obans. After what they had done to his wife he couldn’t truly find it in him to be completely trusting of them. Individuals sure… he could stand one or two but for the most part? No. He really didn’t want anything to do with them. He tried to keep his distrust from tainting his daughters.. But he knew Riona was a bright girl and picked up on more than she let on. Her actions and half said sentences let on that she had picked up on something involving the war and why her mother didn’t really talk about it.
I’ll have to take her aside and talk to her… she’s old enough to understand some of it. He thought lazily as he rolled off his rock into the ocean to cool off from the sun’s heat. Despite everything bad that had happened Rayolun was happy with his life; without the struggles he wouldn’t have the family he did today. And he wouldn’t give up Lasarra or his girls for anything!
