It was bound to happen eventually.
With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.
And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.
With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.
|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it. You may encounter any beast on Yael if you are located there, but you must declare which one you are facing when you make the roll.
This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxStage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 3 must roll 40-100 to successfully subdue the beast

Ondine was finished packing her stuff for her travels, the excitement of it all leaving her rushed and jittery. Of course, she would miss the soft beaches and constant waves, but she was ready to finally travel with her father to see the world and his homeland. Just the thought of a world full of people who shifted like she did left her bouncing on her toes with anticipation. Too bad she still had a few days until her father was set to leave with the entire family.
So, she took to the beaches, working to remember the soft sand. Pondering it over, she wondered if it would be worth while to get a few jars of sand and water, something she could always keep in her new home as a reminder of her old one. As she thought it over, a suddenly movement caught her gaze and she spun. It was two creatures moving about near the sand, their hides covered with vines. At first, she assumed they were Bushi, but upon closer examination she realized they were something else.
What could they be?

Kizal was on a break, stealing away some time while her father and eldest sister focused on discussing possible trade deals and sales. That aspect of the business was not quite Kizal's forte, and the time in her mind was best spent seeing what possible resources she could find along the beaches to assist their crafting that way.
She'd not been particularly surprised to see others along the sands, even if she kept her distance. A few hesitant smiles were sent to those near enough to exchange quick hellos before she moved along, and Kizal paused now and then to collect shells along the water's edge. Straightening after depositing a few new shells into the pouch along her hip, she was startled by... well.
A few new sights at once.
Some small, vine-covered Bushi first made her blink--or at least, what she thought might be Bushi until she drew a bit closer. It was then she noticed the other youth near the strange creatures. Kizal sent them a few curious looks--she'd not seen that skin tone very often around there....--before looking again to the two creatures meandering around. "Are they... yours..?"

Ondine nearly jumped, and covered it up with a bright laugh as she spun around to see the Matori woman close to her side. Shaking her head, which was covered with a new headdress to help keep the heat off of her dark scalp, she brushed the sand off of her hands and moved closer.
"Nah, never seen such things before in my life. Don't think they are native..." Her eyes narrowed as she glanced at them a long moment, before her eyes widened in realization, "You know, I heard some rumors of travelers bringing back beasts from the island...maybe it's one of those..."
Since the creatures were moving so slowly, Ondine figured it wouldn't hurt to move closer herself, and she gestured for the girl to do so as well.
It didn't hurt to be curious, and the things didn't seem to be a threat at all. If she was lucky, maybe she could catch one and take it with her on her trip. She'd sure catch the eyes of those Shifter boys if she did so...
