Remembering the Past
Prompt 3

Can be used toward Solo or RP req

It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.

Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.

How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?

Since she was left to her thoughts on her way back to Sauti it just so happened that her mind went toward the latest battle that had taken place in Tendaji. Ming'we had been there so she knew first hand what it had been like. She had participated. And enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly it also made her upset that she had done so. When had she become a person that delighted in harming others?

“When I was left for dead.” She needed to say the words, to hear them with her own ears again. Ming'we sometimes forgot what had spurred her hatred. It was all consuming; blinding. But she knew it was because of that had happened. Pure blood Alkidike's had taken out their rage on her. A.. A hybrid. Ming spat at the thought. Hybrid indeed. She'd denounced her Alk heritage. There was no way she wanted to be related to any of those spiteful women. Them and their superiority complex.

What made them so great? That they could touch their deity? Aisha was just a tree! Ming'we frowned at that thought. She knew better. There was no other tree that could produce life the way Aisha did. So it made her magical, definitely, but.. there was denial inside her. She didn't want to accept something that was so revered by the Amazons. If she did then that meant that she was open to their ways and she couldn't allow that.

Her hand came up to rub at her ribs. A few of those had been broken when she had been attacked by a group of “sisters.” Ming was supposed to have been loved and accepted by those women. Part of their community and they'd tried to snuff out her life. She had almost died! Anger boiled inside her at the memory.

It had been a Sauti native that had found her in that ravine. If not for them then she surely would have died. Slowly. Painfully. Not a pleasant way to go if one indeed had to leave this place.

Tears of anger and pain welled up in her eyes and she got even angrier at herself for having them. It was over! Done with! Why did she care anymore!? Because they were supposed to have been family. Her... Her alkidike mother had moved her and her twin brother closer to them so that they could have support in their time of loss. But Ming'we had lost so much more than just her earthling mother. She'd lost her sense of belonging. Never before had she hated herself for being a hybrid. Now it was basically all she hated.

Her skin, her markings, her antennae. All of those combined sold her out to the rest of the world as someone with mixed blood. Someone who didn't belong. Ming hated it. Balling her hands into fists she shoved away the pity she had for herself and replaced it with the seething anger that seemed to push her forward in life. After all, it was that hate that had kept her going.

During the battle she had made sure that she had struck down as many Alkidike's as she could. Friendly or otherwise. Tendaji didn't need them. They were a pest. A menace. Heck, Ming had even turned against the one Alk she had had a crush on. V'demhe had known the bite of her crossbow long before the battle had taken place in Sauti. She didn't want to admit that she had felt a surge of panic when she saw the crossbow bolt go into Dem's chest. Ming'we had wanted to feel justified when that had happened. V'demhe was an Alkidike and had deserved it! Even if the woman had saved her from being beaten by an angry mob before.

Now she frowned. Ming'we was recalling memories that she wanted to leave in the past. Why was she thinking of V'demhe now? Ming had lost that fight. Once Dem had realized that she was serious the Alkidike had fought back with a serious demeanor. Though when Ming'we had come to she was in a healer's home. Even though she'd taken out her hate, her anger, her pain on V'demhe she had been taken to a healer to make sure she was alright.

The tears that had welled up now spilled over and trailed down her cheeks. The dust from her travels mixed with it and made streaks that went over her markings. Ming'we lowered her head and watched the ground pass by as she continued to walk.
