Once more as the evening sun loomed on the horizon, Talisia found herself facing against the Xaraan. “Are you trying to pick a fight with me?” The beast charmer crossed her arms while casting an indignant look towards the creature. Before she had almost bonded with it, but the thing had just snapped at her fingers before bolting away.
A tricky, tricky beast indeed.
Holding the ropes that she had made into a harness of sorts, Talisia smirked. “We can either do this the easy way or the hard way, okay?”
It was almost as if the Xaraan was rolling its eyes at her.
Frowning Talisia darted forward and ended up flinging the harness towards the creature. Before she may have stumbled around it, but all of her recent training had truly started paying off. It was a simple step for Talisia to be able to hold her ground against that snapping beak and those quick legs. The hybrid almost wanted to stick her tongue out at the Xaraan, “Not so easy am I now?”
Almost in reply the Xaraan attempted to throw her backwards. Digging her feet into the sands, Talisia kept a firm hold on the rope. It was a strange tug of war between the hybrid and beast as they both pulled backwards in the sands. Eventually after several minutes of a strong struggle the two both stopped pulling. Her hands still wrapped around the rope, Talisia grinned. “Maybe this time then?”
Somehow she doubted it would be so easy…

After sketching the creature in her journal, Talisia sighed. “Are you going to bolt on me again?” Those brilliant blue eyes blinked at her slowly before the Xaraan turned its head away. The girl had brought some food to share with it and eventually after realizing the fruits were for it the creature had stopped thrashing against the rope.
Those few moments of silence and stillness had allowed Talisia to get what she came for. Still, the girl couldn’t help studying the creature. Normally she would be happy to let them go back into the wild after getting the information she needed, but this time she felt torn. He had been such a pain in her side since a few days ago…it was tempting to make him linger longer.
That gaze looked at her once more and the girl sighed, “Fine, fine. “ It wasn’t like she was hopeful or anything. Taking the rope away from the Xaraan, Talisia was surprised to see it take a moment to study her back.
Oh? Was this that fated moment? Had she finally conquered it so completely that the Xaraan would want to tag along with her?
And then there came the snapping beak.
“Oh! You mean spirited creature!” Face flushed Talisia pouted as the Xaraan took off across the sands once more. Seriously, why did she even bother? Turning away, Talisia only had one word to utter under her breath as she trudged home.
“Jerk.”
