At Large
Prompt 1

Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it. You may encounter any beast on Yael if you are located there, but you must declare which one you are facing when you make the roll.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxPrentice must roll 60-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 3 must roll 40-100 to successfully subdue the beast
xxxxxStage 4 must roll 30-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

|| Success or fail, completion of this event rewards you with 15 EXP!

|| If you roll a 95-100, you get to keep the familiar! Congrats!

|| Those who win a familiar should be followed up by a PM to our Beast Battle Mule: Beast Tamer Freya with this form:

Species || Tintural, Keldari, or Limbara
Gender ||
Name ||
Owner || [username of owner, not character name]
URL ||

|| Title your PMs with "Tamed"

Why did this always happen to her? She'd been minding her own business wandering around Sauti, seeing all the sights and all in all having a grand time. Things were going pretty well for her up until she saw the destroyed caged and panicking merchants. She'd heard of beast trappers and such losing control of their animals before, but this.....this was something entirely different. Whatever had been in that cage was large and something she really didn't want to have to deal with. Of course, being the generous soul that she was she was bound to deal with it at some point. For a small fee at least. The trappers really should have known better when trying to deal with whatever great beast they had captured. Now it was off destroying things most likely, perhaps even rampaging through a village. Sighing to herlse, Xariy walked closer to the overturned cage and the panicking merchants, curious to see just what they were going to do about it. The moment she came into view the merchants turned to her, their hopeful eyes watching her every move.

"Hey there miss, you uh wouldn't have happened to see a big scaly beast run by have you? Or would ya maybe like to help a poor starving merchant and his family out?" the small wind man asked, taking a careful step towards her. Xariy grinned, tempted to jump at the man and spook him a bit. He was skittish enough already though, and doing that would most likely cause him to panic and decide to get help from someone else.

"I can't say that I have, but if you're looking for someone to track it down I'm your lady. For a small fee I can promise you I will subdue the mighty beast for you. How does that sound?" There was a lot of whispering between the group of merchants then as well as several more glances in her direction. She was about to honestly just leave them be when she heard something strange in the distance.

It sounded much like a stampede would, but more isolated. With the looks on the faces of the wind merchants, she could only assume what was coming. Apparently the beast wanted revenge. How wonderful. The beast was much larger than she had thought it would be. With a huge scaly body and lots and lots of teeth, it was like a giant reptilian battering ram. It came bounding toward her then, whether because she was the first person it saw or something else she wasn't too sure. All she knew is it was coming fast and was definitely out for blood. It took all of her effort to dodge out of the way in time, almost tripping to her doom in the process. It seemed fairly enraged to the point of not thinking clearly, if it even could think clearly. She could use that to her advantage. While it was large, the tree she spotted was even bigger. Hopefully if it ran full speed at it it would be enough to knock the beast out. It was her only shot anyway. She couldn't take it on in a battle full force. It was too powerful and she was not a brute force sort of person. Waiting for it to circle back around, it lowered itself down ready to charge at her. Making sure she was positioned in front of the tree, she waited as it came barreling towards her once more. If ever there was a moment her life flashed before her eyes, this was it. Staring down the beast as it charged her, she realized that this plan was pretty stupid all things considered. At the last second with the beast almost upon her, she leapt out of the way, flinching as she heard it collide with the tree. The tree was completely knocked over, and the beast lay there next to it, breathing but knocked out. It was sure to get a killer headache when it woke up.

"You managed to knock the beast out, miss! We owe you a big favor for this!" the merchant exclaimed, shoving a small amount of gold into her hand. It was something at least. She just really hoped she never had to deal with one of those beast ever again.
