It was a quick beast, but Talisia was finally catching up to it. Not that she could race evenly with the creature, but in little spurts the girl could actually navigate the sands enough to try to cut it off. Unlike the previous pair she had encountered this Xaraan was the same one she had originally met. His cream feathers glittered against the sand and his blue gaze was taunting as he dashed around her. He was a beautiful creature, if he wasn’t so darn aggravating! Talisia laughed at the thought.
Oh well, at least she had a running buddy.
It really was good exercise to run across the evening sands at full force. Talisia could feel her body brimming with strength. Since coming to Oba her softer body had become leaner and she could feel the muscles that tightened in her limbs. Would even her twin recognize her at this point? The thought made her chuckle before cross paths with the Xaraan.
“Hey!” Talisia chastised the creature as its beak went towards her face, “Isn’t that a bit rude for someone just running with you?” Or at least trying to keep pace? It seemed that the beast wasn’t much of one for play tonight, however, and Talisia found herself reaching for her whip. “Alright then, have it your way.”
The Xaraan reached for her again, but Talisia had her whip in hand now. Her wrist snapped forward and the whip streaked through the air towards the beast. She was rather glad that she wasn’t a swords person since cutting the flesh would make her feel guilt. At least this way she could just warn off the Xaraan. Please don’t push me. She truly would hate to have to fight such a beautiful creature. Talisia was far more healer than fighter, even now. But it was rather funny to watch how the Xaraan flailed under her whip as she wrapped it around its beak.
Hah, what about that?

-----------Taming----------
After a few more bouts with the Xaraan, Talisia found heself panting. “Well that was exciting.” The two of them had managed to run across what felt like seven leagues of desert. But Talisia had managed to keep her whip tightly wrapped around the Xaraan. That way he couldn’t do any funny business as they raced. Though she had scrapes and bruises from several bumps along the way Talisia was smiling. “Can we just get along now?”
The Xaraan peered at her through a brilliant blue gaze. It was almost as if it was contemplating it. Full of hope Talisia walked it towards a pool of water before relaxing her hold around it’s body. As her whip retracted the Xaraan kept an eye on her before bending down for some fresh water. Was this the moment then? Hesitating for only a brief moment, Talisia reached a tentative hand out.
Was this the moment? Could she become friends with this beauty? It was a cruel tease. The Xaraan took a moment before snapping its beak towards her fingers. Gasping, Talisia took a step backward and clutched her hand towards her chest. “You didn’t!” She protested, but the Xaraan was already dashing away across the sands.
Perhaps another day then…
Talisia was pretty determined after all.
