It was that time of month again when Mi-Hi attended pottery class over at her local pottery, with class this month focusing on using clay to make animals.

The first part of the class had been spent looking at some of the various hand building methods that could be used when modelling clay and Mi-Hi had listened with fierce concentration as the instructor had gone over techniques such as slab building, coiling and pinching - well at least she had tried to.

She had made a few notes and when the time came for them to practise she had flung herself into it with cheerful enthusiasm and whilst her pieces weren't the most polished - she had felt pretty pleased with the end result of the bat and bunny that she had made for her mother and father respectively.

Her pieces were currently at the pottery drying and Mi-Hi was already looking forward to the next class as she made the walk back home from the pottery because the instructor had said that they would be able to glaze them.

Next class seemed so very far off though - well at least for the moment it did - although there was always the school pottery club to look forward to until then.

Mi-Hi walked past a few shops, her pace slowing a little as her green eyes glanced at the Easter decorations and more specifically to all the chocolate out on display for the upcoming holiday.

Mi-Hi's attention had been taken up by the variety of chocolate eggs on display, with designs ranging from the simple colourful foil-wrapped varieties to the much more complex.

Her attention was more drawn to the cuter ones however such as the egg shell halves filled with smaller chocolate eggs that looked like little nests complete with a white and milk chocolate bunny and there was also a white and milk chocolate egg half filled with smaller eggs with flowers and smiley faces.

If she was able to pick a chocolate egg for herself then she would totally have picked the smiley faces one Mi-Hi decided to herself, totally unaware of the fact that she was no longer alone at the shop window.

Or at least she was right up until the point where she thought she felt something bat at her leg, green eyes shifting away from her perusal of the chocolate eggs in favour of looking downwards.

Even so it took a few moments before she spotted the cat - well kitten really. It was small and black with yellow eyes and - as her eyes shifted to take in the super fluffy white collar thing tied with a surprisingly dainty looking bow - Mi-Hi decided on the spot that the kitten was adorable.

"Hello there" Mi-Hi's smile was bright as she crouched down before slowly extending her fingers of her right hand gently towards the kitten.

Mi-Hi had no idea of the thoughts running through the small black kitten's head as she paused for a few moments with her hand outstretched.

The little black cutie hadn't looked like it would mind however and so it hadn't taken long for Mi-Hi to give into temptation and reach out the last of the way so that she pet the small kitten.

She had gotten the impression of warm, sleek fur and then her fingers had stilled as she heard a nearby voice speak.

It had sounded slightly hesitant but most definitely feminine and Mi-Hi had found herself automatically glancing around with puzzled green eyes in an attempt to try and find the source.

But there was no one else around - just her and the little black kitten, but that couldn't be it could it?

She glanced around again, wondering if perhaps she had missed something - but no there really was just her and the little black kitten and so in the end she had crouched back down whilst feeling very silly and had looked at the kitten as she asked hesitantly "Did you just talk?"

Perhaps she should have expected it given that - apart from the two of them - there really wasn't anyone else around, however Mi-Hi couldn't help the look of startled surprise that flitted over her face as the kitten confirmed that it - well make that she -was the source of the voice.

After all prior to today Mi-Hi hadn't known that animals could talk - well at least not outside of fairy tales although the cute kitten in front of her that was most definitely talking was kind of proof that at least some of them could...

And whilst Mi-Hi wasn't too sure what the kitten meant by when she'd called her special, she had to admit to being curious.

"It's no bother at all" she said because it really wasn't. "So there's no need to be sorry."

And then added because the little kitten looked so down and she wanted to try and cheer her up "What does this someone else look like? Perhaps I can help you find them."

Jett had been eavesdropping.

Not Remarque—that would have been too easy. The cat, at least, would have recognized the energy signature immediately. He had gotten off of work only short while ago and figured he could have a few minutes of getting out on the street before heading home.

Except, tonight, he hadn't even had to go looking for something to do—he just found it.

Or, rather, it found him.

He was standing, back against the wall of the alleyway, eavesdropping. Originally he was just waiting for them to move along so he could power up without worrying about anyone seeing the transition between Jett and Remarque, but they weren't going anywhere anytime fast.

So he stopped waiting for them to leave.

He powered up, smoothing out his outfit and stepping out of the alleyway by the side of the shop so he could stand just behind the two.

Glancing down at the kitten, he seemed a bit surprised by how little she was.

But it didn't really how small or new she was if she was picking out senshi.

"Which one is that? I can give her a ring, if you like," he said, though he had no intention of bothering another Dark Mirror Senshi when he was right here. "…Or we can head somewhere a little more private, the three of us, and I'll make it easy for both of you."

He raised his hand, trying to seem a bit friendlier than some weird guy who just stepped out of the alleyway after eavesdropping. He didn't mean to startle them, so added, "Your voices were carrying, I couldn’t help but overhear. I was sort of waiting for you two to move so I could leave without alarming you, but," he shrugged. "I assume this stroke of luck could work out for all of us, no?"

Eventually, Lace did actually notice something in the air. Chaos, at the strongest rank she knew (with only meeting Laurelite, this felt just right under it) the kitten ears perked up and small startled gasp came out.

"Th...We can..." The kitten laid a paw on Mi's leg as if grounding herself to get the words out, though Remarque saved her the trouble. As the eternal stepped forward, Lace moved closer to the man before looking up at him.

"M..Mintaka...She is the one I know, but..but that's okay! Can...Can you help us instead?" The largest amber eyes looked up at Remarque with such trust.

Lace jumped at Mi'hi's comment and then as if she felt she had abandoned the new girl, came to place her paw back on the girl's leg. "This one...He..He can help." Lace waited, "Do...Do you want to go? It's not...not scary. I will protec..protect you."

Mi-Hi's attention turned back towards the kitten at the feel of her paw on her leg and she gave her smile because the little black kitten really was adorable and brave and way too cute.

"Thank you" she told her, even though she suspected that if anyone was doing any protecting then it would probably be her - because the black cat was just so little. "And yes I'll go" she added cheerfully because the kitten seemed to trust the blond and she really did want to know the rest of what she had to say.

"And thank you as well" she continued as she turned back to the blond man and reached out to take his offered hand. "I'm Mi-Hi - Mi-Hi Harrington and wow I've never met a Prince before" because it would have been hard to miss overhearing what he had said to Miss Kitten even though she didn't really understand what he meant by a Court or a senshi.

"Does that mean I should curtsey or bow or something?" Although if it came to that then perhaps she could get away with a bow because Mi-Hi didn't know how to curtsey.

The enthusiasm was reassuring, and Remarque found a smile forming on his face. He was not normally a fan of cats, but he couldn’t even find it in himself to dislike this one. "There are no formalities, Mi-Hi. It is a pleasure to meet you." His gaze drifted to the kitten and he said to her, "You don't need to apologize, Kitten. You weren't rude. Come, I'll take you both to Mirrorspace if you like. It'll be a nice trip."

There were a dozen or so mirrors in the nearby block, but Remarque figured it was just going to look creepy that he had to make physical contact with them and walk them down a dark alleyway. So, better to suck it up and get it over with.

He reached to scoop up the cat, careful to hold her gently. He took Mi-Hi's hand gently and explained as he began to walk down the alleyway and towards the mirror, "The Dark Mirror Court can pass through mirrors. It's a highly worthwhile gift that you'll come to enjoy once you come into your power. Saves a lot of money on gas."

The mirror here was uncovered, and very dirty at the bottom; the frame was cracked and it didn't look as though it would last much longer. Remarque made a mental note to replace it later, but for now it looked like it would do the job.

"The sensation is a bit weird, but it won't take you long to get used to it. Holding your breath helps, if it's your first time."

He gave them a second to adjust and then moved towards the mirror; he stepped through it first. The moment his shoe hit it, it didn't crack—it just rippled, like water. And, like water, when they stepped through it, it was cold.

On the other side, Mirrorspace was a stark white—bright enough that it stung the eyes, just a bit, if you weren't expecting it. The room itself was large and covered in mirrors. There were no doors, sans one—a tall, imposing set of doors. Remarque looked towards them, releasing Mi-Hi's hand. He held onto the cat, perhaps just to give her an extra moment to adjust.
