╔══════════☣═══════════╗ Yoru Burakkudaria Headmaster of Beacon ╚══════════☣═══════════╝
════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ As the sun peaked over the treeline of the Emerald Forest a lone man walked forward towards the now decommissioned launch pads with a small tool box in hand. Yoru Burakkudaria had always been good with machines and thought about reviving a couple of these things for a fun way to enter the forest. Setting the tool box down he got to work clearing the overgrown grass from the Beacon insignia on the launch pads. Next he would pry the launch pad up into an upright position and begin oiling the gears and springs, before placing the pad back down and testing the launch pad. He smiled as it flung upward and then reset itself. "There we go now for the true test." Yoru would quickly scribble a note and placed it with a small rock on top to prevent it from blowing away. The note would read to just stand on the Beacon insignia. Stepping onto the launch pad he was amazed at the speed it launched him and distance it sent him. ════════════════════════════════════xx━╃☪╄━xx════════════════════════════════════ ⊰ Semblance: Active/ Not Active ⊱
It was day in the Emerald Forest. The sun's yellow rays streaked through the leaves, the beams criss-crossing along the forest floor. A small foot trods through quietly, treading lightly on the leaves and blades of grass, careful to not make a sound. Bright brown eyes dart around the area, scanning for any sign of an enemy.
Hirsch Lightfoot's small frame was illuminated by the sunbeams as he tread softly through the area. Hirsch's body was on high alert. His eyes dart around the forest floor. His ears, which were large and furry and deer-like, were twitching, listening for any sounds of movement. His left hand was resting on a holster on his hip. The young Faunus was on his way to Vale, so that he could train at Beacon Academy. His brother has been gone for several months since he got accepted. He had no choice but to continue with the enrollment, so that he could train. After all, he was going to become a Huntsman.

Eva made her way to the place they had been told to meet with her gun, Fulmine, across her back and a book in her hands. She glanced around the small clearing, taking in the note and odd metal plate with the school's insignia on the surface. Cautiously she approached the note, reading it and glancing back at the strange contraption that they were told to stand on warily. She supposed that if it were part of the school's test required to become a student she would have to trust that the teachers wouldn't do anything too embarrassing or dangerous to them.
Taking a deep breath, she smoothly stepped onto the metal plate and was thrown toward the forest with a loud scream. Clutching her book to her chest and holding tight to the strap of her weapon, Eva hurtled through the air still screaming as she tried to decide how to stop herself. Honestly, she hadn't ever been in a drop like this, one without a parachute anyway.
Closing her eyes, she braced herself for a rough landing in the top of one of the trees. Really, that would be her best chance so long as she didn't break any bones in her crash. Eva hoped that whoever thought this was a good idea got a good smack to the head to make them see sense, her scream finally running out as the trees' foliage loomed before her as her body began to descend as gravity began to act against her forward acceleration.

Wearily walking through the forest, Lili held her hands close to her chest as she wandered through this dense forest. Her only instructions was to meet everyone else on the platform in order to begin on making their way to the academy. Her soft bunny ears hung low, while her body trembled in fear of the random animal noises she heard. This was her first time being away from, and to top it off, without her twin brother. She felt tears swelling up from the fear she tried to swallow, however, after hearing a distant scream, Lili screamed back.
Startled, the young Faunus held her eyes shut, darted through the forest, while screaming at the top of her lungs from the intense fear that over came her. Next thing she knows, a rather odd sound came from beneath her. Abruptly stopping in her tracks, Lili looked down to see that; she happened about the launch platform, and set it off. Before she could even comprehend what would come next, she was flung outwardly into the air, and farther into the forest.
Her screams continued, while desperately trying to hold her skirt down. Once she decided to open her eyes, she saw how the ground was quickly approaching, and began to kick wildly, as if to reject the idea of landing. Luckily, Lili landed in the thick branches of a tree, somehow becoming entwined with the vines, and ended up being hung upside down. Lili continued to hold her skirt in place, while tears rolled down her cheek.
She was over joyed that it was over, but still overwhelmed with what just happened in a matter of short time, and began to doubt herself. "Oh! What am I gonna do now!?" She whined and started to look around. Hopefully someone will come to her rescue....and hopefully doesn't hate Faunus....

Hirsch soon finds himself in the clearing, where the launching pads were set in place. He looks over the platforms and notices that two had been activated. He put his hands on his hips while he put two and two together.
"Looks like a couple of the others are in." he said aloud. He shrugs and hops onto one. "Oh, well, might as well join in on the fun." He pulls his goggles over his eyes to prepare for flying. The little deer Faunus braces himself, a smile spreading on his face. He listens to the gears as they whir, then click.
Soon, he is flying through the air. "Whooooo!!!!" He tucks his arms and legs close to his body, streamlining his flight. Soon, he is nearing the rest of the forest.
With a smile, he unholsters one of his pistols. He flips it upside-down. He clicks a button, which unfolds it into it's tanto form, the blade stretching the length of his arm. He does the same with the other and it unfolds the same.
Eyeing the branches, he times himself, then curls himself up into a ball. He starts to fall, then uncurls just as he nears a branch. He catches himself, on several branches, using the blades to cut away any branches that would come his way and stop his descent to tangle him up in his branches.
He finds a sturdy branch and stops his slicing. He lands solidly on top of the branch. He looks around, taking in the view. He clicks another button, and the tanto fold back into his guns. He holsters his weapons. "Well, the view sure is nice around here. Now, to find my teammates."
The faunus jumps down and lands on his feet. He begins jogging, keeping his eyes and ears alert for people. Or Grimm.

Walking out of the brush, Lance glazed over the wonderful view from where he stood. Walking up to the ledge, he notice that several of the catapults have been activated, leaving only a few left. Placing his hands in his pockets, he walked over to one of the few, and launched himself in the air. His expression was blank, but as he was thrown out into the wilderness, the cold air began to affect him. "Crap.." He muttered to himself.
Looking below, the tree's began to become a lot closer than her anticipated, and pulled out his weapon. He shifted it to the form of a whip, and was able to tangle his weapon, from branch to branch. Swinging his way down to the solid ground with succession. The moment he lands, he returned his whip back into a sword, and sheathed it. Looking around, all he heard were the distant animals, possibly Grims as well. Though, a peculiar scream caught his attention.
"Mind as well..." He spoke nonchalantly. With a shrug of his shoulders, and his hands back in his pockets, he began making his way to the woman how would be screaming. Luckily, it didn't take long to see a descending white haired? woman. He positioned himself correctly, to catch her if need be.

Eva forced herself to open her eyes as she sensed someone approaching, surprised to see a dark haired man positioned beneath her as she crashed through the branches of the trees. With a short cry she tried to use her aura to reduce the impact she would make as she crashed into him but she'd never been much good at controlling it in that way. As her body impacted his her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, her heart beating wildly as she clung to him.
"Sorry," she murmured as she finally calmed down enough not to hold him so tightly. "I've never dealt with that kind of decent before," she admitted, her face flushed from embarrassment and relief now that her rather ungraceful flight was over. Focusing on his face, she gave him a shy smile. "Thank you for catching me. I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked, her expression shifting toward concern before her usual shyness caught up with her.
She managed to get her arms to release her savior after a few moments and she shyly managed to offer him her name. "Evangeline," she said softly, turning quiet in her discomfort with this new person. He had helped her and she wanted to be friendly, but she couldn't quite make herself open up to him when she didn't know him yet.

With her approaching fast, he readied his feet, and positioned accordingly. By his calculations, the catch wouldn't be the problem, but perhaps the impact? He readied himself for her arrival, though once she was in his arms, he let out a small grunt, as he was a bit caught off guard when she clung to him so tightly as she did. In this moment, it felt as though time had slowed down, where as Lance just refined his composure, and continued to hold her bridal style.
The young man was looking to the sky to see exactly where she propelled from, and wondered if others would soon follow pursuit. Snapping out of his own thoughts, he looked back to the woman when asked if he was hurt in the process. "Hmn? Oh....No, I'm alright." He responded calmly. However, the body heat she was producing from her obvious flustering, caused his mind to wander for a moment. It felt....nice.
When she loosened her grip, he readjusted his hold on her still, and began to walk, and yes, while still carrying her. He looked on ahead and made sure to keep all ears on his surroundings in case of a surprise attack from the brush. When Eva mentioned her name to him, He nodded in acknowledge meant and gave her a quick glance. "Lance. A pleasure to meet you." He responded, again, calmly. At the orphanage he was raised to be gentlemanly towards women in distress. Then again, he also used women for their natural body heat. Though his mind was set on entering Academy Beacon, he was also thinking how he'll survive.
Though, in the situation that they are in now, he could obviously tell she was beginning to distance herself from the earlier embarrassment. Making a slight awkward expression, Lance looked ahead, and struggled with how to address this scenario. "What......Brings you here?....To want to join the academy?" He slightly struggled with words since he's naturally not much of a talker, but he figured this might bring her some form of comfort.

Eva blushed as Lance carried her through the forest, uncertain whether she should ask him to put her down or let him continue since he didn't seem to mind. It wasn't like he was hurting her any and she was sure that if something attacked them she could get down quickly enough for him to be free to fight. After a moment she decided that if he wanted to set her down he would say as much so she relaxed against his chest, settling so that her arm was draped over his shoulders lightly.
She relaxed some as Lance asked her why she was here, feeling that he was a kindred spirit since he seemed just as uncomfortable about this situation as well. "Yes. I want to study at Beacon," she said, considering how to best put them both at ease. "Are you here to attend the academy as well?" she asked, feeling a bit awkward but wanting to at least try to be as out-going as she could with someone new. After all, this would likely be a fellow classmate at school. Plus he seemed to be having at least as much trouble trying to find something 'sociable' to say, which she appreciated.

Feeling the tense ease up by the small body motion she made, it gave note to Lance that she was starting to relax more, in which case, he felt a bit relieved. Still on occasion, he would readjust himself to make sure she was comfortable. By no means was she heavy, in fact, unlike most women he's lifted (for other reasons) she was rather light. He was, in a small term, enjoying the heat she bore from her body. It kept him awake, and alert, heck, if he hadn't heard her screams, he'd be sleeping against some tree by now.
From her reply, he could only question as to why she would want to study at Beacon? But, it's none of his business, and decided not to ask. But, when Eva had asked him if he was doing the same, he glanced in her direction for a moment. "Something like that." Truth was, he could care less about the academy. He only wanted information about his origin, and knew that Beacon was a great place to hack into their systems to go global in finding information. Maybe even the quickest way to get answers. Yet the thought of the academy itself raised another thought. "It begs to question the teachers intentions by launching us in a dangerous territory.......The fact that they would dismiss us to easily." He pondered out loud.
Lance remembered her blushing earlier, but couldn't tell if she was still embarrassed, or had caught a cold. Not understanding the meaning of personal space. Stopping in his steps, he fixed his strong gaze on hers, and leaned in close enough for his forehead to touch hers. He held his breath, to be able to get an accurate temperature. She was a bit warm, but not sickly so. "I noticed your face was red....you didn't catch a cold, did you?" Lance removed his face from hers as he asked this, and decided to continue walking.

Lance's reply confused Eva but she assumed he must have a good reason for being in the forest. So far as she knew the only ones who were meant to be here had applied to the academy. Still, if he wanted to hide his reason for being here she couldn't exactly press him for more if he didn't want to talk.
Softly she chuckled at his thought about why the teachers had quite literally thrown them into the wild. "Maybe they want to make sure we can actually defend ourselves properly," she suggested, thinking about it now that he'd asked. It was a bit strange, particularly since so far as she could tell they were alone here other than the others who had applied to the school. Perhaps they wanted to see how they would act when put out on the field. After all, they couldn't very well teach them how to act in a fight if they didn't know how they fought.
She couldn't help blushing a bit more as Lance leaned in toward her face. "I-I'm alright," she said softly, "Really. I'm not sick." Eva shook her head and glanced around, feeling a bit uncomfortable focusing on Lance at the moment. He didn't seem to be concerned that they were so close but she felt as if it were a little invasive having the guy pretty much in her face.

He watched her expression, and gave off a small smirk. Lance looked away, and continued walking along the path. She was probably right, it did make some sense to test their skills right off the bat, but they could have done the same at the academy during training. Why just send them off, launched in the air, and expect them to land, and make it out alive? What happens if someone didn't make it out? That they couldn't stop the impact, and died? or a Grim higher than their rank came, and slaughtered them? These are all possibilities, but so are the likely chances of a tornado.....It still bothered him nonetheless.
He wondered what the teachers true motives were. Only a mad man would launch unprepared students in the air, and wish the best of luck to them. Lanced stopped in his tracks, and began to examine their surroundings. Something felt...off. "What is it that we are suppose to do? Do we look for the others? Or just finding at least someone is enough?" He thought to ask. It was a bit curious to not just be launched into the wilderness, but no really declaration as to their main objective. All he really cared about was getting to the Academy, and be done with this event.

❋ Chrysanthemum "Chrissy" Sorrel ❋
╔
Chrissy softly hummed to herself, her skirt swaying as she walked along the path to the launch pads barefoot. Her ankle bracelets ringing as she moved, she made her way to one of the pads. With a soft giggle she stepped onto a pad and was launched out into the forest. She let out an exhilarated squeal, laughing as the metal pad flung her out over the trees.
As she began to descend, she converted Choros to daggers and dug them into the tree to slow down, spinning around one of the trees. When she reached the ground she spun a few times, her skirts flaring as she laughed. "Yoru!" she called, knowing the headmaster was somewhere within the forest. She had her tablet which she was using to track some of the children, wanting to keep track of where they were and how they were so they wouldn't be in too much danger out here.
Absently she spun a few more times, Choros recombining into the staff form as she whirled. With a laugh she shook her head, her hair falling down her back and fluttering around her shoulders. "Yoru!" called again, finally stopping in her spins and putting a hand on her hip. She just hoped he wouldn't sneak up on her. Last time she nearly set his hair on fire for scaring her and this time she wouldn't miss if she had anything to say about it.
Eva glanced up at Lance again as he asked what the point really was since it couldn't just be to test them or else they'd have a more clear objective. "Maybe you're right," she said, thinking it over, "The only instructions I saw said to step onto the launchers. I suppose there must be something we should be doing. What do you suppose the test really is?" She frowned slightly, shaking her head slightly. Sighing softly, she rested her head against his shoulder as she thought over what they knew about their situation.
"Do you suppose they wanted us to find something here? Maybe it's a lesson more than a test, something they want to see if we can learn," she guessed, still thinking it over to herself. It didn't really make much sense to test their current skills perhaps, but maybe it was meant to test what they could learn. Perhaps they wanted to see if they could learn to work together with a new team that they didn't know. "Perhaps they want to test our ability to work with new people," she said a little hesitantly, "After all, we'll need to be able to work with others in our career as huntsmen and huntresses. Without being able to work together on the fly we'll never be able to work as a force with those we don't know well."
