Background: ((wip - just notes atm))

Grimm father, and Fallen Litch mother. Received private instruction prior to enrolling at the academy when his parents were still together. They later split up, and now directly compete with each other in business. Ralph was shipped off to the academy as a result. Both try to earn his favour to one-up each other and send him whatever his heart desires to appease him. Ralph remains unimpressed, though he makes good use of his gifts.

Faced some bullying at the academy for being a brown-noser, cry-baby, and nerd. Never had to put up with it for long thanks to caretakers. Not that he couldn’t handle himself. Spent a lot of time by himself, tinkering, creating, and reading comic books. Generally lacked magical talent, but had a knack for enchanting. Could imbue objects with a life of their own.

After witnessing a failed robbery, Ralph realised he could do so much better and thus realised his destiny. No, not to put an end to all crime, and save the world from itself. Seriously, who does that? No, he would become the greatest villain the Below had even seen. World domination held a certain appeal.

From thereon Ralph dedicated himself to evil ways. He began to construct golems to do his bidding and create mischief at the academy. He has an interest in historical antagonists, and researches powerful artefacts that may one day help him in his goal.

Personality Overview: If there's one thing you need to know about Ralph, it's that he's a nerd with an ego. Oh. And he wants to take over the world. Kind of important. Someone's got to, so why not him?

Ralph is ambitious to say the least. One has to be to plan world domination. While Ralph may be determined to bend the Above and Below to his every whim however, he lacks a lot of the qualities necessary to do so. Take for instance focus. Ruthlessness. Or even a spine. To be honest, he’s a bit of an idiot. But he’s an evil idiot. Very important distinction there.

Of course Ralph has romanticised the idea of evil. After all, normal people do not readily acknowledge their actions, much less their identities as evil. That being said, Ralph is not particularly power hungry despite his long-term ambitions. Nor is he sadistic. Mostly he just seeks attention. A world where everything revolves around him is his kind of world. Obviously. Ralph would never admit such a thing though.

Generally Ralph has a short attention span. He is easily excited, and approaches new ideas with enthusiasm. He has trouble focusing on any one thing for too long, and tends to scrap plans as quickly as he comes up with them. As a result he often acts without thinking, or considering a situation in full. The few times he does however are almost always inconsequential.

While Ralph is still young, he is immature even as far as juniors go. He’s petty, crude, and socially inept. When he’s not making an idiot of himself he’s… well, he’s making an even bigger idiot of himself. He does have his moments however. From time to time he displays surprising insight for someone who acts like an ignoramus, from merely being socially conscious to legitimately empathetic. Even if such insights typically do not sway his actions, he has been known to on occasion side on the lighter side of morality. There is such a thing as “too evil”.

Strengths
Cunning: Ralph may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but who cares about that? Ralph is all about colouring outside the lines. Get it? Box? Lines? That's smarts talking right there. With a lack of morals, you don't need to be smart to outwit your opponent. You just need to be willing to stoop to new lows. He often underhanded methods to get what he wants or to wiggle out of trouble.

Enthusiastic: Ralph has a seemingly bottomless reserve of optimism. He tackles tasks with unabashed zeal and never goes about anything half-heartedly. When you get the Ralph, you get all the Ralph. Even in the face of failure he maintains a pretty good attitude about it. He recovers quickly from disappointment to move on to the next best thing. That or he just plain forgets about it.

Persistent: Ralph does not know the meaning of defeat. Okay, he does, but defeat is merely temporary. He’s thinking long-term, baby. No matter how many times Ralph gets beaten down, he always comes back swinging. He is dedicated to his mission and nothing can dissuade him from that. Nothing except for maybe self-preservation.

Weaknesses
Wimpy: Ralph’s fortitude is pathetic, both physically and mentally. To put it bluntly, he is a weakling and a coward. At the first sign of trouble, Ralph is likely already making his exit. He is afraid of numerous things, such as enclosed spaces, needles, spiders, ducks, toasters, and balloons just to list off a few. The strangest things can set him off, some with good cause and the others… not so much.

Impractical: Let’s face it: “Lord and Ruler of All Nightmare Kind” is not the most realistic career choice. Many of Ralph’s life decisions and plans follow the same vein. He tends to be flashy and over-the-top without actually accomplishing anything. After all, what’s the point in being evil if there’s no one around to acknowledge it?

Oblivious: Despite being devious and underhanded himself, Ralph is surprisingly trusting. He takes people’s word at face value and never questions it. This mentality extends even beyond others’ words. He tends not to look past the surface. As a result he is easy to fool… repeatedly.

Likes: In many ways, Ralph fits the bill for a stereotypical villain… or more accurately an “edgy” teenager. He loves metal and industrial punk music, and everything else within that vein, including the aesthetic. He is a self-proclaimed anarchist and wants nothing more than to strip society of all its rules and regulations (and then replace them with his own of course). He often tags buildings with graffiti.

Despite the dark, brooding exterior he works hard to project though, he has a few… chinks in his armour. For instance Ralph is a fan of baking. Not just casual baking either. He is the type who will bake two dozen cupcakes with their own custom fondant topping. It’s a nice way to break between evil plots—not to mention it allows for artistic expression! Ralph also loves baby animals, especially kittens. How could anyone resist such a cute, fuzzy-wuzzy, widdle face? Ahem.

Perhaps most importantly, Ralph likes to stay updated on new technology. Not only is it exciting, but if he’s to stay in business he has to keep on top of the competition. Monsters are another favourite.

Dislikes: Ralph takes issue with a lot of things: the status quo, schedules, homework, class, school in general, cleaning his room, pop stars, spinach and cashews, bell-bottoms, musicals, his many fears… The list goes on and on, with some being common and others unusual. For instance, he’s practically allergic to bright light and highly saturated colours. Some more notably dislikes however include quiet and sleep.

Ralph hates when things settle down into a lull, especially if that lull happens to be an auditory kind. He likes to listen to music at an obnoxious volume and you can be sure that if no one else is making noise, Ralph will. Silence is uncomfortable for him, and he will babble on and on just to fill it.

As for sleep, he merely considers it a waste of time. Not to mention, who needs scary nightmares creeping up on them like that? No thanks, he’ll pass. He often stays up to the point of exhaustion, where upon he will suddenly and without warning doze off.
