Obayana was only two days into his mission with his brother Sol to travel to the mysterious rainforest he'd been told about. A rainforest where a special flower grew that he planned on retrieving for his pride.
They still had a another couple of days to go before they got there, but the two of them were traveling at a steady pace and would get there in a good time. For the time being though, he and Sol had split up for the early part of the day to better their chances of finding food.
They hadn't had the best luck with finding things to eat since leaving home, so he was hoping things would go his way for once. Of course, with his luck things rarely went his way.

Aldo was grumpier than usual today. Sure, he had managed to find some prey and had managed to catch one himself. Problem was, it was a bit too big for him to eat in one sitting and while he could eat more later, but that meant that he had to guard it right now until he was hungry again. It would have been easier to empty his stomach if he could move around, but as there was no good place to hide the prey, though he was still slightly hidden, it meant he couldn't wander too far.
Of course, this was nothing to get upset over, but Aldo hadn't had the best time lately, getting into more fights, getting pushed away by wandering pride parties, etc. He hadn't even met what he could call a friend as of yet even though that was typical in the rogue lands. He hmphed a bit as he laid next to his kill.

The dark orange cheetah carefully made his way through the area in his search, but only managed to grab a small rodent. Barely enough to hit the bottom of his stomach never mind feed two cheetahs. With a huff, Obayana spend up his pace a bit and began thinking about rejoining his brother. He preferred not to be left to his own devices, knowing his luck he would end up running into something that wanted to eat him.
With that, Obayana rounded a corner without thinking about being careful and ended up face to face with a leopard who looked as though he were guarding a fresh kill.
"Why hello there," he said smoothly, turning on his acting skills and hoping that he wouldn't be attacked for his abrupt apprearance.

Aldo was just lifting his head up and trying to turn his ears to the sound he just heard when a cheetah was suddenly in his face. He got up while growling. He did not like surprises. The cheetah then gave him a greeting which calmed him down a bit. At least the cheetah wasn't going to attack him. That was surprising but not unwelcome. Aldo grumbled a bit before sitting back next to his kill.
"Is there something I can help you with?" He asked. He wasn't in the mood to play games.

Obayana quickly thought of a way that he could get himself out of this situation and potentially turn things to his favor. He absolutely could not get into a fight with this leopard, he knew that he would lose. Especially with his brother nowhere in sight, he would have no back up.
Others had ridiculed him for it in the past, but Obayana truly believed that he was cursed with bad luck. He had failed continuously in his sparring lessons growing up and had always ended up relying on his wit and intelligence rather than his physical strength.
"So sorry to intrude, I just couldn't help but follow my nose toward that delicious smell, little did I realize that someone was already here," the cheetah said quickly with a light-hearted but confident voice.
"You wouldn't be in a sharing mood today would you?"

Aldo was glaring at the cheetah a bit. He really hadn't wanted to be disturbed but here he was. Being bothered. He sighed internally and swished his tail about a bit. He wanted to get the cheetah out of here as quickly as possible, but that didn't mean giving up his kill just to get rid of him. He also looked kind of scrawny so the cheetah probably wouldn't be able to drag it with him meaning he would either have to stay and watch or move. Neither of which he wanted to do at the moment.
He snorted. "Yeah right. You really think a carcass would be so easily abandoned? No, I'm not exactly in a sharing mood right now." But then Aldo thought about it a bit. It would take a while for him to eat all of it, and while the cheetah probably couldn't drag off the whole thing, he could drag off part of it. "Fine. You can have a small part of it, but I want to keep the majority seeing as it is my kill."

Yes!, Obayana thought to himself.
He knew that he was treading on thin ice with this leopard, but he had to try something, and the odds were looking good. After studying the other for a moment, the cheetah came to the conclusion that if he played his cards right, he might be able to get away unscathed and with a piece of meat at that. It was well worth the risk.
"Only a small part!," he said, assuring the leopard that he did not intend to try and steal the entire carcass. Not that he would even get very far with the large kill.
"How about one of the legs? I don't need much, just something to get through the day."

Aldo still continued his glaring at the cheetah. 'He better not be planning anything.' The leopard thought as he considered the cheetah's words. Of course he couldn't let the cheetah choose the piece himself, he might take the best part or most of the meaty parts.
This interaction was finally starting to grate on his nerves. He still couldn't be sure if the cheetah was trying to trick him or not. Perhaps he had a friend waiting nearby so that they could take his kill?
He continued to keep his eye on the other. "Fine. You can have A leg, however, I'll take it off for you." He said, moving towards the carcass and one of the hind legs.

"You are too kind," Obayana smiled slyly, he may not be the strongest, but he thought himself to be decent with his words. He would have never gotten anything but scratches and wounds had he tried to fight for a piece of the leopard's kill.
"Thank you so much! I will relieve you of my presence now. Name's Obayana by the way, maybe we'll cross paths again someday," he thanked the leopard before cautiously approaching to grab the hind leg. Once he had a hold of it, he glanced at the leopard once more before trotting off.
His brother would be so surprised when he caught up with him and told him about his encounter.

Aldo grunted a bit in response, but was glad he could help someone a bit. And it did seem like the cheetah was grateful for what he had done. Maybe he shouldn't be so grumpy all the time.
Aldo nodded in response. "You're welcome." He wasn't a leopard of many words and this encounter had made him uncomfortable in the sense that he was a bit happier at the end of it and he did not know why. Could there really be more encounters like this out there?
He watched the cheetah go off with the leg and sat down again, a smile showing slightly on his face now.Big Hobbit Ending here! Thanks for the rp!
