((Time line wise this is set a few weeks after meeting with Ilyra.
Traveling had always been a sort of pipe dream to Mnyiri. She had always thought of doing it, but the actual process of going seemed so far off. In a night's time she had decided to take a little trip by herself, and after letting Rhonann know of her plans, Mnyiri had taken off on Mvua's back to lands unknown!
Unfortunately for her the fool radaku had taken her to Oba.
"If this is your idea of a joke, it isn't funny." She snarled, looking down at the beast with a stern look. For her it was a punishing glare, but to the outward eye it was an all out pout. He walked along side her, occasionally nudging her away from larger groups of natives, all the while snarling at anyone who so much as gave them a strange look. "If you hadn't brought us here you wouldn't have to be so bristly!"
Maybe he had gotten lost, or maybe Mvua had just gotten caught up in the moment. Either way, here they were, in Oba, with a pouch of coins and nothing more than a spear to her name.
Tivrod was the farthest point west in the horrid territory. It's border was shared with Jauhar, making it look almost like her homeland, but with distinct difference. For one the citizens were far too busy harvesting their trees to possibly live inside of them, and their people were as dark as tree bark. It was a small, miserable little settlement full of gruff earthlings who looked as if they hadn't bathed in years. Some adventure this turned out to be.

She was leaving Jauhar behind...even though there were some hints of the rain forest remaining, the difference between the atmosphere and the people was obvious. No longer was she in a village full of travelers and all races, but rather was now approaching a completely different area. "I didn't realize that this existed in Oba..." Her brother had spoken of this trade path once before, but they had always opted to take a different route when they cut through Jauhar. Had Ahren taken this route home?
She was half tempted to ask, but everyone here seemed a bit stiff compared to the people back in Jauhar.
It turns out that being a Matori by yourself in Oba earned far more sneers than when you were with a group. Nadiya frowned at the thought before reaching down to touch the flute hanging at her side. At least I have this again. Wasn't this supposed to be her exciting time full of adventure? Here she was with her brother's blessing and her flute...yet nothing exciting had yet to occur. She had bartered for a piece of beautiful dark wood that she kept in her satchel...perhaps one day she could turn it into something. It had just been too pretty to ignore.
Lost in her thoughts about the possibilities, Nadiya stumbled into a logger. who shoved her to the ground. "Hey! Watch where you walk slave girl!" The older Oban hissed at her as he carted off with a load of wood, "Stupid Matori....go back home. Just gettin' in the way..."
"He-hey!" Nadiya brushed the dirt from her skirt as she wobbled back up onto her feet. That was rather rude. She made a face at his back and muttered under her breath, "What some sort of grumpy old man syndrome?" It was probably best to not cause a scene here, however. She was not fool and she could feel the eyes on her. Being on her own made the world a completely different place. All she could do was shake her head in disgust as she turned away. Perhaps it would be best if she wandered along the outskirts of the town rather than cutting straight through.
Perhaps if she had paid more attention to the crowds, or at least been tall enough to see more clearly, the girl would have noticed a familiar figure walking just across from her own path...

Oh, Mnyiri heard the exchange, she just didn't bother looking. This had been the third time an Oban had accosted one of the blue skins for simply breathing their air and the racism was giving her a migraine. She bet that if the Matori were as tall as she was then those Obans would shut their traps really quick. As if she needed another reason to hate those awful, murderous, treacherous jerks more!
She had stopped in her walking to run the palms of her hands across her face. Don't kill your radaku. He didn't do this on purpose, he didn't mean to drop you off in purgatory... That didn't mean she didn't want to reach out and box his ears, though! Mnyiri was so wrapped up in her inner monologue that she didn't see the approach of an old acquaintance until the girl was nearly upon her. At first she didn't really recognize her, but something in the Matori's face reminded her of...."NADIYA!" Mnyiri shrieked and rushed over to her.
The alk wasted no time in scooping up the small girl and spinning her around in a hug. "It's been so long! And look at you! You cut your hair; I like it, very cute."

Should she make a left? Perhaps a right would be best....suddenly Nadiya found that the ground was far away and she felt as if she was going to fly into the sky."Eeep!" Nadiya's shriek of surprise turned into happy laughter as she wrapped her arms around the alkidike, "Mnyiri!" Out of all things...she hadn't expected to see her friend here! It definitely brightened her day to see such a familiar face! As she wiggled back towards the ground a chiming sound lit the air and the girl flushed.
That was right...
Hands clasping the bell that she had turned into a necklace, Nadiya glanced back up at Mnyiri. "Thanks! Looks like I'm not the only one to change my hair." She smirked, "How'd ya get it to such a brilliant color? It's really pretty almost like some of the silks my family sold." It was like opening pandora's box, a torrent of questions built up from her solitude came spiraling out. "Why are you in Oba? I thought I wouldn't see you again...not that I mind, I'm actually really happy! It's just I thought you wouldn't be leaving Jauhar anytime soon and oh my gods you're here...how long? And what for?" Suddenly the bleak area seemed much more exciting and vibrant.

It mattered so very little to Mnyiri that more than a few workers were openly scoffing their reunion. She could hear them, and yet she couldn't, as the alk was purposefully blocking them out. Letting her friend back down, she bounced on the balls of her feet, much too excited to be kept still for long.
Then she noticed the necklace Nadiya was fondling, and wanted to scoop the smaller girl back up into another hug.
"It helps that my hair was already white to begin with. Sooooo much easier than trying to get it pink than if it were black." Ironically it had even been another alkidike that sold Mnyiri the dye to begin with. A few of the seller's dreads were a bright blue, and Mnyiri had never heard someone go on and on about the dying process like that one had. At first it had been fascinating, but after a few hours it was a slow, dull torture...
"Oh, I'm not here by choice." She replied sarcastically. Mnyiri reached out her hand, grabbed Mvua by the scruff of his neck and pulled him forward. The larger radaku snarled at her, though he made no move to bite. "He got too excited, and took us here instead of Tale. I've never actually been traveling myself, so I didn't know the difference until the high and mighty jerks tried to attack me with sticks." As if sensing some of the ill will from behind her, Mnyiri craned her neck to spy a few Oban's watching her. She stuck out her tongue before turning back to Nadiya. "I don't plan on staying long, but I am really glad to see you! How have you been? Are you living here now? ...Please say you aren't, because if you are, I'm taking you out of here."

Nadiya smiled, "Very nice. I guess dying my hair would take a lot of dyes then." Though it might be nice if she could get a green streak here and there....talk about her family having a funny reaction then! The thought amused her before the realization that they may never have the chance to see it made her gaze lower. That was right, she wasn't supposed to go home.
Trying to shake off the obvious moment of sorrow, Nadiya laughed as Mvua was brought forward. "I suppose you might want to make sure he follows a map next time." She teased lightly, not bothered by his snarl. Despite being angry Mnyiri's familiar was rather cute to Nadiya. He probably would snarl at her for thinking it, but the girl did love creatures. If perhaps not for her love of songs then maybe she would have tried to be a tamer. Now that would have been something!
Frowning Nadiya glanced around, "Someone tried to attack you?" Her gaze narrowed as if she were ready to fight. She could give someone a good earful! Tiny or not she had some powerful kicks as well...Blinking the girl focused back on Mnyiri, "I've been alright." Living was fine, right? Plus, it wasn't like she was sad because she had always wanted to travel before. It just would take some getting used to was all, "And no, I would never think of living here though it would be tempting to say it just so you could rescue me." Nadiya grinned playfully, "When I was raised in such a beautiful place this place pales in comparison. I'm traveling through mostly, just wandering here and there while working on my music. How about you? How's life? Any exciting adventures yet for me to make a song of?"

Mvua didn't seem the slightest bit pleased with this turn in conversation. He was a smart radaku, wicked as a two headed keldari, and just as pissed. Still, Mnyiri stroked her fingers through his beaded mane and whispered soothing words. It didn't calm the savage beast though it did come a long way in keeping him subdued.
"Yeah. They kept saying they didn't want any trouble from the 'extremists'," Mnyiri snorted, "I mean, come on, do I LOOK like I'm part of their group?" The earthlings in this back water settlement really needed to branch out more if they couldn't even figure out who fit into the extremist category and who didn't. The hybrid thing was a huge tip off, so maybe they were just blind.
"Oh yes, I could come in here riding my shining radaku and swoop you away form the bad Obans. Is that a good enough story for your songs?" She laughed, picturing it all so easily in her head and finding it beyond ridiculous. "Well, I found my sister, so that's a good thing. I'm still helping my friend to figure out some things about herself, but beyond that...not much."
Goddess, when had her life gotten so boring?

While she hadn't met any extremists personally, Nadiya could never imagine Mnyiri being anything like the group of dangerous women. They had sounded so blood thirsty in the stories and Mnyiri was far from that. She was energetic, sure, but hyper in an innocent kind of way more than anything. "Maybe they think the pink is the faded blood of your enemies." Teased Nadiya with a small smile.
Nadiya laughed, "Oh please do!" Her gaze gleamed with a teasing light as she glanced up towards the alkidike, "I've always wondered what it would be like to be rescued. Should I go throw myself into some trouble for you?" She could already imagine it...normally she was more loathe to see herself as a prince lately, but perhaps being rescued wouldn't be such a bad idea. Though the image it presented cast a faint blush on the Matori's cheeks. Or maybe not. Her heart raced enough imagining stories, but living them was a different thing all together...
"Well, that's not too bad." Nadiya tilted her head thoughtfully, "I'm glad you found your sister. If you got your answers there then perhaps that just means your new journey can begin soon. I mean it's not always bad to have a break here and there. Else we'd all be worn out~" She smiled warmly, "If you aren't in a hurry to leave then perhaps we can find something here if you need."
Turning on her heel the girl studied the area, "Outside this stiff place perhaps? No one here seems exciting..." They weren't to the deserts yet and a river that ran from Jauhar to the edges of this forest was nearby...it wasn't like her ocean, but because it went slightly downhill there were some rapids...
"If you want I have an idea for something fun."

Reflexively she reached up to touch her dyed strands, and tucked a few dreads behind her ear with a little smile. "As fun as that sounds, please, don't." Mnyiri laughed, and shook her head. "Something seriously bad could happen to you, and I really don't want that." Even if her tone was very light, Mnyiri meant it with her entire heart. Games often turned to war in the right light, and she didn't want things to get rough for her little friend.
"I think I've already found what I was looking for." Her eyes focused on the form of the little matorian in front of her, a little light smiling tugging at her mouth. "Buuuut I'm down for whatever you have in mind." She ruffled Mvua's mane, eliciting another well meaning growl from him before patting his back. "Want a lift? He'll be nice, I pro...mise....OH COME ON, MVUA."
The radaku had sidled up next to Nadiya, and nuzzled her hip with his shoulder before craning his head to look at her with bright, golden eyes. Mnyiri was happy to see him being so friendly, but really? He'd just been growling at her not a few moments earlier!

I hope I didn't offend. Nadiya wanted to protest as Mnyiri moved her hair. It was so pretty! She really disliked the Obans around here. Couldn't they just let strangers be? Must not have enough things to do. She commented silently before smiling at Mnyiri's laugh, "Alright then. I'll behave for your sake." The last thing she wanted was for a brawl to break out as well. Not that she was doubtful of Mnyiri's abilities but Nadiya didn't want the Alk to get hurt because of her.
"You did?" Nadiya's gaze brightened as the comment innocently went over her head. "Good!" She flushed lightly, "I just hope you don't consider me a child for it. It's something we used to do back home and the rivers here aren't the ocean, but they're close enough." Studying Mvua, Nadiya braced herself to approach him before blinking in surprise. Oh.
Smiling, the girl reached out with a tentative hand to play with his beard as she had seen Mnyiri do. "Maybe he decided I'm not too bad after all?" She glanced towards her friend happily. "Can I ride him? Her gaze gleamed with excitement, "I don't know how to ride well though, but if you're with me then I feel like I can do it."
"We just need to head towards the south where the borders meet. I remember the river was really deep there."

"Nadiya, have you met me? Everything I do is childish." She motioned to herself with a little sardonic grin. Mnyiri was a loud, very bright alkidike who didn't let anything stand in her way. She was also more than aware of how her incessant chattering annoyed the older sisters, so to judge someone else for being 'childish' would have been calling the kettle black.
If anything she WAS extremely curious as to what Nadiya had planned. She watched as Mvua canted his head to get the maximum effect of Nadiya's petting, and nodded. "Sure, go ahead. He'll go slow so you can get used to it, and if I run with you two then I can help guide you." There was just no way they could both ride him. Mnyiri alone was pushing it, and the radaku was likely going to be pleased to have such a smaller rider.
Mvua lowered himself, and Mnyiri patted his back. "You can grip his mane if you want, just don't tug too hard. Keep your thighs close to his body, and if you want him to turn just lean your body in the direction you want to go. He's smart, so if you need to tell him a direction or say stop he'll listen."

Nadiya grinned in return, "Well, you never know. This might be too silly for even you." The girl stuck out her tongue for a brief moment before flushing. Having hyper, younger siblings got her into such habits and she never had taken the moment to wonder if they were strange or not. Oh well. The thought of being near water again made her steps lighter. Despite wanting adventure the girl couldn't help being a little water bug at heart.
"Alright, but you have to promise to stay nearby. If I do fall I need you to catch me." Nadiya looked to Mnyiri before slowly taking a deep breath. Alright, I've got this...shouldn't be too hard, right? Mvua was being super sweet as well so she felt even more confident as he lowered himself. "Here goes nothing~" She was bracing herself to tumble, but somehow the Matori managed to get on his back. Unlike the bigger beasts of Oba and Matori she felt as if she could fit snugly on Mvua's back. "Just grip tightly..." Quoting Mnyiri, Nadiya leaned forward and clung to the radaku for dear life.
"Alright lets go forward then!" She made an attempt to point forward with an arm before instantly gripping back onto Mvua's mane. "Let's go slow for now so we can stay close, okay?" She gazed pleadingly at Mnyiri before motioning for Mvua to move.
One, two, three, four... She began to count in her head as she prepared for the short journey towards the waterside. At least then she would be in her own familiar territory!

"You won't even realize you've fallen before I catch you." Mnyiri stretched her legs, popping the joints as best she could while trying to stay limber. It wouldn't do for something to tear on a simple run! She kept an eye on the pair, however, making sure that Mvua behaved. He seemed to grunt a little when Nadiya mounted him, and she worried for a moment that he would buck her off. Thankfully he just seemed to be getting adjusted.
"You're the boss," Mnyiri smirked. She waited for Mvua to shifted himself to a running position before the radaku took off. He was a fast little bugger, especially after becoming used to a heavier rider. Now that his load was lighter it seemed that even his 'slow' pace had a bit of pep to it.
The alkidike took off after him, her boots pounding onto the hard packed sandy road. She kept her spear aloft so as not to catch it on the ground, but for the most part she had no trouble keeping up. After his initial burst Mvua slacked off some, making it easier for Mnyiri to catch up. She gave a whooping laugh, her bells unable to make any sounds other than a cacophony of chimes due to the speed.

Painted Moose Fallen as in for you? ;D A'ight then. Smoooooth. (*shot*)
"I'll hold you to that!" Chimed Nadiya with a laugh. That was almost lyrical in a way...could she make a song of that? The girl had to ponder before the lurching movement made her grab onto Mvua. Oh please be gentle with me. But as they started moving more and more the girl began to relax. It was almost as if she was flying! Was this what it was like to be a spirit? Nadiya let out a laugh as the wind brushed through her short hair, lifting the strands back as they ran.
With their laughter combining into a melody that danced around them, Nadiya watched as the landscape began to shift. The trees here were thicker, but at the same time they were beginning to spread out. Soon enough she could hear the sound of roaring waters and the girl smirked, "Almost there!" She squeezed Mvua's neck gently with her arms, "Alright big guy...can we stop now?"
The waters swirled before them. Where Nadiya and Mnyiri were the waters moved, but seemed calmer. Further down however a few hints of white foam and smoothed down rocks began to appear. Nadiya just hoped that this would be the same as the streams with the waterfalls that appeared around her ocean home. They would just need something to lay on first...

Sabra Knight You give me way too much credit lol. I never noticed that. xD The brisk run was no where near detrimental to her health, though when Mnyiri slowed to a stop her breathing was labored. She'd forgotten what it was like to just run, and not rely on Mvua for transportation. With a loud, heavy exhale she put her hands on her knees, spear forgotten on the ground for a moment, just so that she could breath.
Mvua's halt was much more graceful. He slowed to an easy trot, circling once or twice before his legs had calmed enough for the radaku to stop. The radaku didn't seemed to pleased to be that close to the water, though he let Nadiya off with only a warning snarl.
Mnyiri left her spear with him, and moved closer to the waters edge, reaching up to brush dreadlocks out of her face with a sweeping gesture. She whistled as she took in the grand sight. The waters here were fierce, and exuded a natural sort of power. It was sort of intoxicating to look at.
"So, what's the plan?"
