Arron was happy that his family was together again and the steadyness of having all his parents and sibling in one place at the same time put an extra spring in his step. He was arguably the luckiest prentice ever to have lost half his family then find them again so soon after. Others he knew were not so lucky. He whistled to himself hoping the noise would lure a curious beastie or two out so he could take notes in his sisters book. She had lent it to him for the day with the admonition that he "write neatly and draw pictures of what he saw" or he wouldn't get to have the journal again. He liked to read her notes at nighttime before bed, and he was excited that he could return the favor.

Today was not a day for trading or lugging or bustling. Today was just a day for exploring. Lana had planned to leave Wynna at home to mroe easily navigate the forest, but not long after leaving she was reminded that nondwa were not as trainable as, say, a raptrix or a radaku. The great lunar creature fluttered after her every few feet, sometimes staying behind to taste some buds or rest her wings.
As of the moment, Lana had stopped in a very small clearing that sat beside a little brook. She sat on a rock and dipped her feet in, a stark white vision against the colorful foliage. She hummed ever so softly to herself as her mind wandered. Wynna remained still a ways back in the wood, feeling more comfortable there than in this patch of openness.

Arron was fighting through thick foliage as quietly as possible when he burst out to see a shifter at the edge of a gurgling stream. Well it looked like he wasn't the only one out for adventure. "Hello there," He called quietly hoping not to startle her too much with his abrupt entrance. "You haven't happened to see any critters around here have you?" He peered around but besides her there seemed to be nothing around. On the plus side it was hard to talk to critters and she might have some interesting information on where he could go to look.

Lana reflexively offered a smile. There were critters all through these woods, but you had to be quiet to get a good look at anything but a spitorog. Who was this boy, then? Was he an adventurer? A beast trainer? Just... curious?
Rather than answer him, she stood up just beside the stream and whistled into the trees, her arm out. There was a bit of rustling, and then Wynna fluttered forth and landed heavily on her master's arm. The nondwa flexed her wings slowly and looked the new person over, then moved closer to Lana's shoulder.
"How's that?" she asked with a smile. "She glows a bit. It's a little hard to see in the day." She waved her free hand over Wynna's glowing crescents and didn't even see a reflection. Hm.

Arron felt his lips part slightly as the most beautiful nondwa flew into sight to land on the most beautiful shifter lady. "Well isn't she the most gorgeous thing, wherever did you find her? How did you tame her?" And was she able to give lessons. "Surely she must be the envy of the forest, never have I seen a nondwa so beautiful as that one. May I come closer to see?" He couldn't see the glow from here but he was most curious to get closer but he didn't want to startle her at all. Then he noticed something else, shouldn't her skin be dark as his was now? Huh, must be a quirk, neat.

Lana grinned at the shocked expression of the young man before her.
"Believe it or not, I found her nearly in Sauti when she was just a pupa. I just took her home. We've been together for years now, haven't we?" Lana said, as if asking the question of Wynna. The nondwa flapped her wings slowly, ready to take off if this new person was a danger but not quite giving in to skittish fear.
"Certainly. Just come slowly."Lana reached up and began to pet Wynna's thick body to keep her calm.

grasshopper pie Why am i seeing a butterfree in my head? Arron took a deep breath and kept his demeanor calm and unthreatening as he slowly walked forward, and reached out a hand. "Do you think that your bond is deeper because you had her from a pupa? Also would you mind if I sketched her, otherwise my sister..well my um the other kid I live with, will never believe me...she might not with the sketch but this is just amazing." He carefully brushed the fluffy being, "I didn't realize you were so soft Ms Wynna, surely the most beautiful nondwa ever, arn't you." The two made quite the pair, but he was too shy to admit that Lana was beautiful too..he shook his head and continued to pet the nondwa least he get distracted.

Only for a moment did Wynna's wings pick up the pace as if she was preparing to take off at the approach of a stranger. Lana stroked her head and cooed softly to her, though, and the nondwa calmed again.
"I believe so, but that may just be my own fancy," the hybrid replied, her smile broadening, "Of course! I can't say anyone's ever asked to draw her before." It was almost an exciting thought, although Lana herself wasn't quite sure why. It wasn't like she was being drawn! "Do you mind if I sit again?"
Wynna seemed to calm even further at the stranger's words. She was a highly domesticated sort of nondwa, and sometimes Lana had to wonder if she didn't know what was being said to her.

"Oh yes, yes of course, please sit." Arron organized his supplies and set everything up in preparation. Then he settled into his work, he did an out line first but it looked weird without the background, so he started to draw in the girl too, without even thinking, until he found himself staring more at her then at the nondwa..what was wrong with him..he would have to ask Sezarra later, he started on color next and soon had quite the portrait going. He sighed and flapped his hand, it was crapping from such concentrated work but he couldn't ask the girl and her pet to stay still forever. "And its done, would you like to see?"

Lana gave a small polite bow and moved back to her rock, sitting daintily. She thought it might be awkward to watch or talk to the young man as he drew, so she simple talked to Wynna about nothing in particular to keep her calm and still. At one point she plucked a ground flower and held it up for her to taste.
When the young man finally spoke again, Lana perked and smiled to him, pink eyes sparkling. "Yes, very much," she said, and stood with Wynna still perched on her arm. She came to the boy and stood behind him, leaning over his shoulder.
"Ooh. You're really rather good." And he had drawn her too! But why? Something about... posing, maybe. She blushed slightly, but it was obvious on her pale skin.

Arron's face was getting really really hot with her compliment.. "Oh well you know, when you practice..it sort of comes together? My friend taught me, this is her journal. I don't think she would mind if you flipped through, its going to be all critters though, both of us want to be beast charmers..oh and my name is Arronthain by the way, I was so distracted I forgot to mention that." He rubbed the back of his head embarrassed.

"I suppose the same can be said of anything, but I'm not sure how artistic I am." She laughed. it was a melodious sound. "Oh, really? Could I?"
She took the book almost a bit hungrily and gently nudged Wynna into the new boy's shoulder. He shouldn't mind, should he? Not if he found her so beautiful. She began to flip through the pages, her smile splitting into a grin as she did. He really was good! It was strange, though. She seemed to be the only person in his art! How strange.
"I'm Behaelielana," she said absently, and then turned to the boy, "You can call me Lana, though. Everyone does."

"Lana...I like it." He smiled "Most people call me Arron, probably for the same reason they call you Lana." Arron stretched, muscles sore. But it had been worth it he was happy with the work he had done. "Some of them are my friends..probably the ones that look better." He grinned at Lana. Once the nondwa was convinced onto his shoulder he proceeded to coo at her instead, gently scratching in the spots the nondwa seemed to like as he whispered sweet indearments to her. He was like that with animals..they made more sense then people.

"Oh? It's not that bad. Three syllables rather than six!" Lana chimed. She looked up from the book every time she spoke to Arron, but otherwise she was buried in his sketches. "You've made animal friends, have you? I only have the one, really."
Wynna fluttered her wings and wiggled her feet on his arm, tasting him. Hmm. interesting.
When Lana finished her perusing she offered the book back and smiled to Arron. He was treating her so well! "I can see how you have animal friends."

"I can't imagine six syllables," he grinned, "did your parents do a mash up of your ancestors names?" "Well the people I stay with have a lot of animal friends, I don't have any of my own yet, but I'm looking forward to it, its such a special bond." He booped the nondwa gently. "Its something that is hard to get with another earthling you know. Not that I'm all earthing, Dad has some Alkidike in him, its where I got my short eyebrows." Arron wiggled the brows in question. "Neither of my parents seem terribly inclined towards critters but I feel it right away. So many kinds of so many colors, I don't know how that's not fascinating you know?" He took the book and offered Lana her nondwa back, "I really appreciate you showing her to me. I hope I can find a critter as interesting as her one day."
