Name: America Jones

Nickname: Meri to family

Age: 18

Birthday: July 4th

Sign: Cancer

Gemstone:  Ruby

Blood Type: O

Fav. Food: cake, concession stand food, carnival food, beach food, if you get it at an event from a stand or booth she's probably a fan

Hated Food: peas, anything she perceives as "snooty"

School:  Graduated high school in northern Florida, class of 2015. Currently coming into DC to help her uncle Higgs at his currently too-successful scrapyard.

Hobbies:

Running - America is a very physical person, very much at home in her own body. She's drawn toward most sports, but running is a very personal, daily activity for her. It's both her morning exercise and the closest thing she'd admit to therapy.

Local Exploration - Secret places, abandoned or hidden or simply very out of the way, are a special sort of treasure to America. Ever since she was young, she'd often seek out these types of places, sometimes staying in them for a day or two. Old buildings, tree houses, little huts in the swamp, she loves a good secret and new places to hide for awhile.

Travel - As soon as she could drive, America would often leave for weekends and breaks, and while there are a number of motivating factors in leaving home, a good chunk is definitely a sort of wanderlust. She likes new places and new people, new secrets and experiences, all without any real lasting commitment and responsibility. Several years back she bought a trashed little camper off Higgs and spent the better part of high school getting it rebuilt and earning money for year long road trip across the states after graduation. It's been living a dream so far, but money is starting to get tight, and a stopover to help Higgs and build back her gas money has proven necessary.

Virtues:

Confident - America's confidence is a sturdy thing that's weathered a number of storms, but remains strong and obvious, from her steady gaze, to her near perfect posture and the way she doesn't hesitate to give an opinion. It allows her to move through new places and experiences with an enviable ease. While there are those who might see it as egotistical, her confidence means America is more likely to build someone up rather than tear them down. If life's a competition, then she's winning it for herself, so why not help others out while she's at it? America's confidence is not unshakable or without insecurities, but they don't rule her daily life.

Trustworthy - Lies are for people with more shame than she's willing to cater to, and proving undependable is just a wobbly sort of lie. She'll keep a secret if she's told it's a secret, and she'll tell the truth when asked right out. (But lies of omission are something different altogether.) If she thinks someone needs to know a thing, she'll tell them, and unless she views them as an enemy, America will never try to lead another person into trouble. If you're relying on her, she'll do her damnedest to come through.

Gets the job done - When America commits to a project, she's as hardworking, committed, and efficient as most could ask for. She's both thorough and pragmatic when trying to find both problems and their solutions and organizes things well. When there's a job to do, America is always willing to check her ego at the door and work with others, often learning from them as well.

Flaws:

Self centered - America Jone's is her own #1 priority. America has never had to care for anybody else, outside of her aunt's last few months, and it's definitely not something she's seeking out. Combined with her confidence and disinterest in books, this can make her come across as a fairly shallow person. In the day to day world, her own well-being and wants are her primary concern.

The most immediate example would be coming to Destiny City. While it'll help her Uncle, she wouldn't be willing to put a hold on her road trip if she wasn't running low on money. She's the type of friend who, if you tell her "I owe you one", she knows that. She's keeping track. She's writing it in her journal and will eventually call that favor in with a dozen others you've forgotten. America Jones will be a good friend, but she won't ever be considered a charity.

Low reading comprehension - She's not nearly illiterate, but America does struggle with connecting the information written out on a page to what it's meant to convey. It's not bad enough to keep her back in school, but the struggle and lack of connection has created a definite disinterest in most books as well as the necessity for workarounds (having someone read things aloud, or watching related videos worked well for her in school.) Outside of a few outliers, the idea of reading a whole book for fun is definitely beyond her, and it's easy for her to seem ditzy, uneducated, and downright backwoods at times.

Destructive - America has a history of people leaving her, of things and places being taken away. And while this has instilled a desire for places and people to become permanent fixtures, it's also created the urge to end, destroy, or cut off these things herself in order to exert some semblance of control over the situation. Sometimes she'll even seek out certain situations for the express purpose of ending it.

One long running example of this would be her relationship with a certain type of older man, the sort to use, abuse, and take advantage. After a formative bad experience with one, she is often to drawn to similar men, with the purpose of creating a bad situation in which she's the one ultimately in control.

On a more physical and to the point level: In a verbal fight, she's probably going to be the one who smashes a plate against the wall. Outside of running, the personal therapy she's less likely to admit to is breaking things. Often on some piece of abandoned property, but just as easily by bringing herself to a physical breaking point by one means or another.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: A swampy hazel, more golden brown than green. She tends to go heavy on the eye make up, though not quite to a goth extreme.
Color
Styling: Brigitte Bardot's makeup case pmuch

Hair: Carroty redhead, thick and hanging down to her waist. Has loose natural curl, with long layered bangs that usually sort of swoosh to one side.
Styling: she gets a lot of variety out of her hair. Up in a ponytail, braid, or crown. Down and loose, even straightened, or styled in a Farrah flip.

Face: Fair skinned and lightly freckled (though areas that get hit by the sun tend to freckled up further). Has a fondness for red and pink lipsticks, and is often seen smiling, winking, and making kissy faces.

Clothes: Fairly simple and often both comfortable and boobsy. She never met a pair of tiny jean cutoffs she didn't like, and she has tank tops by the dozen. She has a love of breezy sundresses, denim, and American flag print. -Closet-

Other: Has a classic heart tattoo on her upper left (our right) arm, the ribbon across it reading "You're Welcome" in script.

Hey Liz!

First, I want to apologize for the long wait on getting a crit!

America looks great, but I do have one question about her Eternal attack - can the force cause damage tot he people it hits? If so, what kind? (You're welcome to make it up to the player with a certain maximum - bruising would be fine, I think?)

Quote me and I will be back!
