Having time away from the school for the day, Awanata decided that today was a good day to make her way to the closest beach to the academy. It took a bit of planning, but now she was here and enjoying herself. Today there was a small breeze that moved through her hair, the waves crashing against the sand. The sky clashed perfectly with the water's horizon, causing her to stare at it in slight awe. The ocean was a beautiful thing, a calm yet strong force that made the beach its own unique thing. Being here at the beach, Awanata was beginning to feel relaxed. After all, it was her sanctuary in this new world to her. She had come to the Below to learn, to grow in her experiences, but school was proving to be tough for her with all these new people and things to do. The Below was different from the Above, and she was still getting used to it. When she was here at the ocean, she could finally relax and begin to enjoy her new life down here.

Galan had never seen the ocean. Back in Above, he'd always been in his little Goblin burrough, and hadn't had the opportunity (or permission) to travel beyond it. Now that he had more autonomy in Below, he decided he'd make the trip. After all, painting the sea was one of an artist's greatest challenges, and it was one Galan felt ready to start tackling.
After planning out his trip, and packing up a picnic lunch, he and Malion decided to go on a day's adventure.
The ocean was awe-inspiring, this endless expanse of vibrant blues and greens crashing into the shore. Malion and he had clamoured over the rocks and peered into the tidal pools. Soon enough, though, Malion had declared he was going to tackle those waves, and had stripped down to his swim trunks and bravely taken the plunge.
Galan was in no way interested in putting himself at the mercy of those churning waters, and so he found a serene spot and set up his travelling easel to begin his studies. He'd done a few meagre colour studies, trying and failing to capture the endless swirling motion when a new subject walked into his frame.
She... Yes, she too was a Goblin. Galan hadn't seen another yet, since he'd come down, and he wasn't sure if he should introduce himself or leave her to her solitude. As he was watching her from his rocky perch, he couldn't help himself. The way the light flickered off her hair, the way she seemed--somehow--a part of the beach... He simply had to draw her.

She continued to just enjoy everything around her, the wind blowing through her hair is it moved it out of place some. She just simply moved it back behind her ear, watching the waves coming toward the sand and retreating back into the deep waters. There was something about the beach that just brought her much excitement, but at the same time peace. Perhaps she could back working by the ocean a career after she graduated? That sure sounded like fun to her. So far Awanata was unaware she was being watched, just being one with her surroundings and taking in the awe inspiring beautiful of it all. If she did realize they were there, she would probably get all red faced and embarrassed. Cerl Temius Sorry for the late reply. I've had it open this whole time trying to write this up. No joke.

Figures always were Galan's strong suit, and after the frustration of failing to capture the water, his relief flowed through his sketches of more familiar territory. In fact, it seemed to make his studies of the girl go that much better, because in short moments, he had a very pleasing rendition of her: profiled against the water, hair flowing on the breeze. He began to shade the contours, catching the way the light seemed to cling to her.
Reaching for his conté to add some splashes of colour to the study, he accidentally knocked his case over and with a clatter the wooden box his the rocks. Scrambling to scoop up the tubes of paint and box of conté chalk, and brushes before they could roll down into the sand, he became a sudden flurry of motion and flapping sleeves in clear sight of the shore.
VerityHattress No worries! I thought maybe I scared you off with such a big post sweatdrop

Hearing something behind her, she turned around to see a fellow goblin struggling to pick up all their art supplies before it fell below the rocks. When did they get there? No matter, all she knew was that they needed help before they lost their stuff for good. So without a second thought, she ran over and began to help them, grabbing everything she could before they fell under the rocks. She even began to reach through the rocks for stuff that had fallen through, getting all of it before they fell further into them. With arms full of stuff, she began to set the stuff back into their box they had fallen out of ", Hopefully I managed to get everything you couldn't grab right away. Oh, and I'm sorry if I am putting them back into the box wrong. I'm sure you have a certain way you like them," she didn't even notice the fact that the picture the other goblin had been doing was of her.

Galan had head bent as he scrambled to collect everything, so it was only by sound that he recognized the sounds of someone's swift approach. When he glanced up and saw his model had leapt to the rescue, he went positively mint with embarrassment.
"Ahhh.. Not at all... I... Thank you..." He struggled through his words, trying to find the most appropriate ones and seeming to fail. He sat at last, the case across this knees, trying to order all of his supplies. As he ran through a swift mental checklist to make sure he had gathered everything, his mind started to calm and settle once more and he squinted up against the light behind her. "Sorry to disturb your solitude..." Galan offered at last, with a soft smile.

Awanta just gave a shrug ", I don't really mind. You needed help and I would rather help you if I could than just ignore you and feel bad about not doing so," She looked back at the ocean to admire it some for just a moment, noticing the drawing and turning bright red at realizing what the goblin had been doing as she stood and watched the sea. Wow, this goblin was really good, but that skill wasn't enough to cause her to stop turning red. This stranger had found her interesting enough to draw? She wasn't sure if she was supposed to feel flattered or not! ", Umm... were you trying to draw me? It is amazingly beautiful."
