Nasir had only gotten them a block and a half before Wil was near fully awake. He had been napping in the park, and the car, so eventually he slid down off of his friend's back and they weaved their way back to the house the pair rented. It was much too big for the both of them, an off campus place with 4 bedrooms for which they were continually seeking roommates, but generally ended up stuck with a revolving door of friends who broke up with their significant others. Most assumed Wil took advantage of Nasir's kindness and tendency to herd and mother him, to make him attend class and make him stay awake long enough to pass. It wasn't necessarily untrue but their friendship was hardly one-sided.. it was just that most didn't see it. Nasir spent most of his time cooking when not in class so Wil reheated things for them to eat when they got in and then spread out on the living room sofa with not a care in the world. Some sort of chill house music was playing low through the TV and he hadn't yet, in any capacity, discussed why he'd been in Detective Mercer's car. The police officer was known to hate Wil (he had no idea WHY) so it was a bit suspicious. Wil's dinner were leftover wings from Darlene's and all he'd talked about since getting home was how good the sauce smelled.

Nasir was not, by nature, a worrier. What is, is. It was simple enough and much like his friend, the darker-haired young man was extremely relaxed and chill as an individual. Except when it came to Wil. Especially when he was in the vehicle with Detective Mercer. It made him worry, made him try and figure out just what had caused that.
He had bit at his bottom lip for a fair amount of the piggy-back ride home until Wil had really woken up and gotten down. Then there was talk about dinner and the wing sauce and it was hard to worry when Wil was smiling like that. So he left Wil to getting dinner warmed up while he went and cleaned up from work. Shower and change in to clothes that did not smell like food and throw a load of laundry into wash.
His hair was still slightly damp when he finally came into the living room, not missing a beat as he picked up Wil's feet to sit on the couch himself. "So?" he asked, and then because it was the less obvious thing. "How are the wings?" Nasir may have made a super spicy sauce that was not for the faint of heart and entirely for Wil because his sense of taste? Totally dulled.

"Pretty good," Wil was chewing, half sitting up, but did lift his feet for Nasir to sit. He got that whiff of 'fresh shower' that made him wonder if he should get one... He sniffed a second at the air before going back to the wings. "Garlic chili ones the other day were better I think." He blinked honestly, before grinning, "But they are hot as hell."

Nasir was never bothered by Wil's scent. If anything he always ended up trying to pick apart what exactly he had smoked. It was almost a kind of game, really.
"Only for you, I think." He shook his head, fingers running through his damp hair and pushing it out of his eyes. "Borr said that they should come with a warning label for anyone else."

Wil finished his wing and licked each finger before wiping his hands on a napkin. There were still a few in the bowl on the coffee table but was waiting, taking a break to change the channel to re-runs of Parks and Rec and to pull off his hoodie because the house was usually kept warm. "Borr's got a baby mouth sometimes.." Wil shrugged, "He hated that kimchi you made that one time." A small bag was pulled from under his couch cushion and he leaned forward to begin rolling a joint.

"Mm, but he liked that cajun gumbo I made the other time," Nasir chuckled. The wings would be left alone for now as he always had to wait a while after work for hunger to really kick in. Something about working around food made him not want to eat immediately once he was home. Usually about the point that Wil had stripped off his shirt (because trying to keep that on him when it was warm inside was pointless) was when he would eat whatever the did not. He watched the other a moment, his eyes only briefly glancing to the television before back to Wil. "... so why did Detective Mercer give you a ride today?" Nasir couldn't help that it worried him especially with how much the detective did not like Wil. One of the obvious reasons happening as the blonde rolled a joint.

"Hm?" Wil looked away from what he was doing, back towards Nasir on the couch. "Oh umm he was asking me some questions. That's all." The joint was rolled pretty quickly before he was falling back into the sofa again and sinking into a corner of it, feet once more thrown across Nasir's lap. The joint clenched in his lips was lit and puffed and then his arm propped behind his head. "Then I sorta bribed him." He laughed and smiled, even though it sounded odd because Detective Mercer was so straight laced.

"You sort of bribed him?" Nasir looked at Wil incredulously, not quite believing that he could even do something like that. Detective Mercer was so straight and narrow that he had sharpe edges. His face wrinkled up with concern, Wil's feet adjusted in his lap while he shifted to get more comfortable himself. There was no real desire to smoke himself, only on the rare occasion, and it didn't bother him in the slightest. "What was he wanting to know?"

Wil rolled on his side then, feet moving again and tucking his toes under Nasir's legs. He was a notorious squirmer until he got settled. "I just sort of mentioned I was going to meet you. And you made scones. Oh and I told him I'd look good and arrested in the back seat-" He didn't keep the second part of that agreement of course. Dirty pool old man."He was asking about those missing kids." Wil watched Nasir with barely open blue eyes, " You know the high schoolers. The ones they say went to the beach."

Nasir was far too used to the wiggle and squirm that was Wil. He simply moved and twisted himself, finding that comfortable spot again and one of his arms laying across Wil's legs. "Wil!" The darker haired young man looked appalled at the idea that Wil would do that. "You shouldn't antagonize him." He let out a sigh, though he did turn faintly red (thankfully hidden) at the mention of his scones. It was no secret that Jeremiah Mercer was something of a picky eater. His expectations high and Nasir was one of the few that he apparently approved of when it came to cooking. He was reaching for one of Wil's feet, scratching a finger along the bottom of his heel. "You're so devious sometimes, you know?" With a sigh, he turned his attention to the television before glancing out of the corner of his eye back towards the other. "Ah, the witch on the beach? Smokes and a fortune?"

Wil's foot wormed and squirmed under the nail but the fought the urge to kick against Nasir for testing his limits. "Yeah-" His foot was retracted and stuffed slightly into the couch cushion. "My friend Joe's girlfriend's... something or other--" Wil puffed his joint again, "Somebody said they were going to see the witch. He didn't seem happy about it. Or believe me.. or .. you know tolerate me at all." Wil grinned, "He's a funny guy."

Nasir just snickered at Wil pulling his foot back and when the other stuffed it into the cushion he was tugging it back with the other. Fingers were wiggled in a 'I'll behave, your feet are safe' way.
With Nasir, you knew he meant it.
"Oh!" He finally leaned forward for one of the wings. "Never met any witch down there myself. There's a girl sometimes, I give her pastries." She was actually was someone he had talked to on occasion, someone who had helped reinforce his decision to stay in Ashdown. Not that he saw her often as he used to with being so busy.
The darker haired young man was very, very neat about the way he twisted the bones so that he could just have one large piece of meat to eat. "Still gave you a ride, though," he said after licking the sauce off of his fingers and tossing the bones. Nasir frowned briefly. "With the missing kids and those rumors getting more popular it's kind of understandable. Maybe there's someone that's taking the kids who are into that kind of thing."

"Maaaay~beeee that's heeee~eerrrr~" Wil said in a spooky voice, extracting his foot once the coast was clear. "But ummm someone said she was like old school. Mole and all." Wil stretched and yawned and hit his joint again before sitting it down in the ash tray. "He definitely wasn't driving me for my own safety..." The idea made him snigger a bit, "Probably hopes I get abducted. He's funny."

Nasir just gave Wil a look. With his family he had been raised on all sorts of stories, things he knew but did not really give any thought to. "... that just sounds like one of the highschoolers putting on an outfit and scaring people." Then someone maintaining the idea through the years.
That was probably it.
"I doubt he hopes you get abducted." The wings were finished off, the bones tossed into the bowl and his fingers licked at. "Probably hopes he can someday arrest you though."

"Nnn nnn.." Wil leaned to steal a small piece of perfectly plucked chicken from Nasir's hand and chewed, "She's real. Don't you believe in that stuff?" Wil propped his arm under his head and watched Nasir with a glazed smile, "Don't you think this town is weird?"
