Night time was the only time when she could hide her flaw. Hidden under the shadows of a tree, away from the rays of light from the moon, a young filly laid. She was uneasy. The thought of strangers coming into the area, seeing her, and being disgusted plagued her thoughts. Shaking her head, she tried to clear her mind from such negative thoughts, but it wasn't an easy feat for her. The thoughts would return, each stranger coming back with varying degrees of disgust. It wasn't fair. A part of her truly desired meeting someone outside her family, but she dreaded the initial reaction. What if they were afraid of her? What if they thought of her a beast?
Diadosi did not expect that of herself either. When she looked to her mother and father, she thought of them to be beautiful. Her perspective changed on a trip to the lake. It was her first time going out for a drink of water and her first time seeing her reflection. The sight will forever plague her thoughts. The socket of her right eye was different, like a foreign material was covering it. It was strange, much like the shadows that made up one of her brother's front legs and yet different from it.
When an opportunity arose to look at her reflection, she would hesitate in fear of her flawed face and eventually cave into the temptation. Every time she caved in, she found herself unhappy with her features. The darkness only seemed to spread further on her face.
A loud sigh left her mouth. She really needed to find something to distract mind.
