Her day was tiring already but lo-and-behold she spotted another Janarim. V’demhe paused as she watched the beast and tried to decide whether or not she wanted to bother with this one. After all, she had beaten a few of it’s kin in battle but had yet to be able to tame one. And really that was the result she was looking for. Dem wanted to be able to take one of the scaled beasts home with her to her children.

The one before her was gorgeous looking. What could it hurt to try and tame this one? Worst that could happen is that she failed one more time. While the thought made her feel less than a warrior there was nothing she could really do about it unless she won. So, swords out, the Alkidike approached the beast. Only this time she didn’t go slow. Dem went right into fighting, giving the creature no time to notice and react. She stuck to blows to the head and front shoulders. What she wanted to do was make it too sore to continue to fight with her.

Of course she did have to jump back a time or two to avoid being bitten by those large teeth. V’demhe came too close to those pearly, white chompers one time and her eyes grew wide. Her response, however, was to simply smack the beast on the nose and reprimand it. “No! Biting is bad!” Her words came out in a growl of sorts. Her words, as gruff as they were, seemed to confuse the Janarim just long enough that Dem was able to land a blow to the side of it’s head and stun it.

With the beast knocked to the side just long enough Dem rolled her shoulders and readied herself to hopefully tame it. All she wanted was to bring one Janarim home with her. Determination on her face she made her way forward and tried to think of a way to keep the creature in check. Other methods she’d tried had resulted in a fail so maybe she needed to be more hands on? With a thoughtful look she shrugged. It couldn’t hurt.

Stepping up close she grabbed the Janarim by the horns and swung one leg up and over so that she could sit upon it’s back and show some sort of dominance over it. Not that it was a good idea, since the beast beneath her was likely wild to the core. “Now then, you hold still while I figure this out.” V’demhe expected the beast to understand that he was now tamed.

When the stun cleared from the Janarim’s mind it woke up in full force. Like a bull released from it’s pin the creature started to buck and rear in attempts to dislodge the rider on it’s back. Dem had to hold on tightly in order to stay on. “Whoa! Stop that!” No sooner the words left her lips and she was tumbling to the ground. The Janarim had shifted to the side right as it bucked and dislodged her. “Ooaf!” Thankfully V’demhe had landed on her butt so there was minimal injury but she was glaring at the wild beast something fierce. “How do those damned tamers do it!?” Even as she asked she decided she didn’t want to know. Besides, the bull-headed beast had taken off from her and was running free.
