Out of breath from running away from her last encounter with the wildlife of Oba, V'demhe had to take a breather. Not just because she had run quite a distance but also because she seemed to have stumbled upon another Janarim. This one, thankfully, was drowsy since it appeared that she had just woken it up. As she took in a deep breath to ease the sharp pain in her side her hands went to her weapons and she drew them on her exhale. The close proximity of these beasts made her wonder if a merchant had bred to many and had just released the unwanted ones back into the wild to survive on their own.
Either way, Dem decided that running again wasn't an option. There was a cramping in her side something fierce and she didn't like it. The warrior gave a roll of her shoulders then leaped into action; not giving the Janarim time to fully wake up or understand what was going on.
V'demhe was careful not to inflict any fatal wound on the beast since she never intended to kill it, but she definitely made sure that it wouldn't be messing with her when she walked away. A slash here and a thrust there and her blades had a nice red tint to them. From the looks of things, she had won the fight. The beast was down so she stepped back and eyed it a bit. Dem found it strange that the fight had been so brief but didn't dare tempt fate.

Or maybe she did. As she stood there with her blades in hand the beast seemed to be calmed, gentle almost and it made her wonder if perhaps he had been someone's pet at one time and had been discarded. If that were so then she could surely bring him home? Or was it a her? The amazon blinked and tilted her head as she tried to view the gender of the Janarim. "Where would one even look for tha--- Oh. It's a boy!" Dem cleared her throat and turned her head to look away.
That had been a bit awkward. Still, it wasn't as though it mattered. Boy or girl. It was still a viable beast and would make a good protector. If it was trained right. Not that she knew how to train anything. "Are there tamers in Matori?" V'demhe asked aloud to herself. Surely there had to be. Right?
When she nodded her head and came to the conclusion that she could pay someone to teach the beast how to behave around her daughters she turned, ready to subdue the creature into submission for the trek across Oba and into the tropical landscape of Matori. Only.. There was no beast. A mirage? No, the blood on her blades was very real. So, while she took her time to deliberate it had just gotten up and said no thank you to becoming a pet and walked off?
With a groan Dem leaned her head back and glared at the sky. Some deity, somewhere, was messing with her and she didn't like it.
