Name: Oliver Caldecott
Nicknames: Ollie
Breed: Domestic shorthair (or if a named breed absolutely must be chosen, maybe a
Cyprus Cat?)
Attached to: n/a
Alignment: Order
Blood Type: A-
Fav. Food: tuna. and cat treats. They're no less tasty just because he's smarter now!
Hated Food: anything green and plant-like
Hobbies: ExploringEven before Ollie awoke as a Mauvian, he loved to slip out of his house to wander around the neighborhood and travel around. His owners didn't realize how far he went until he lost his collar many blocks away and a neighbor called to return it. Being a intelligent Mauvian means it's easier for him to get out and he can better understand what he's seeing, so he's taken to traveling farther and clambering around increasingly more interesting places. There's so many things to see in this city!
ParkourBeing a cat, Ollie is naturally athletic, which lets him get into and on top of all sorts of places. But his small size and lack of opposable thumbs limit him. Then he saw a commercial where a bunch of guys were using parkour to get up and over things that humans normally wouldn't manage without tools or assistance. He looked into that further and found he could adapt many of the same principles to his own movement. He practices often, and now has a habit of turning up places that people normally wouldn't expect a cat to be.
Spy moviesWhen Ollie's owners noticed how often he managed to slip out without them noticing, they started to joke that he must secretly be a spy off on important missions. He got curious about what they meant and started looking up spy movies. He quickly found them fascinating and loves watching them with their intrigue, fancy gadgets, and daring escapes. He would use the James Bond introduction line constantly if he didn't think his name was too long to sound cool. "Caldecott. Oliver Caldecott." Just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Virtues: AdventurousThere's so much to see and do out there, and Ollie wants to try it all! His love of exploring combined with thrilling spy tales gave him the urge to go out and have some adventures of his own. He likes to wander around looking for fun things to do and trying out whatever he can. Anything that's new is a case for excitement, though he's not so eager that he'll jump into things blindly. He
does remember the old saying "curiosity killed the cat," after all! Eagerness is all well and good, and often will guide his actions, but a bit of caution now and then might keep his hide together.
Affectionate Ollie can be quite the cuddle bug, and firmly refutes the stereotype that cats are all aloof loners. Even better than a patch of sun is a warm lap, and he is happy to curl up with someone he likes and nuzzle against them. If he realizes someone is sick or unhappy, he'll do his purring, cuddling kitty best to cheer them up. Granted, his general shyness means that this level of affection is awarded mainly to people he already knows, but one of the quickest ways to get on his good list is to (patiently) offer him head scratches and pleasant words.
DevotedOnce he decides he likes someone, he'll stick to them like glue and do anything for them. To start with that just means his owners (a pair of teenaged sisters) and to Order in general. Considering his general shyness, it may take a bit of time for him to regard anyone else with the same level of dedication. Right now his priorities are his "mommies" first, the forces of Order second.
Flaws: Shy While he's exited and eager about most new things, meeting new people is not one of them. When approached by someone he doesn't know, he's more likely to run and hide than greet them. It takes him time to warm up to someone, and probably a good bit of careful persuasion on the person's part to assure Ollie they mean him no harm. He's a bit less cautious about new senshi, including people he feels are ready to be awakened, but still isn't good at speaking with them straight off.
DistractibleIf Ollie were a human, he'd be diagnosed with ADHD in a heartbeat. Not only does he love moving around, but it's hard to keep him focused on one thing. There's so much out there to see that he wants to see it all at once, and anything that catches his attention can easily divert him from whatever else he'd been doing. He tries to keep on task when he's doing something important, but isn't always successful.
Runs on his own scheduleOllie doesn't often worry about time. Even when he learned how to read a clock, he didn't usually bother, since it never seems to matter much to him. Whenever he gets somewhere is exactly when he's meant to be there. Unless the time concerned is dinnertime, in which case that never comes soon enough. Whatever he's doing often takes scheduling priority over whatever anyone else wants.
To those that interact with him, this means that if you tell him to be somewhere at a certain time, even if he promises he'll be there, he usually isn't. Most often he's late, and doesn't seem to get why people might get frustrated at him. But occasionally he's early, and then gets impatient that everyone else isn't ready when he is. As far as he's concerned, deadlines are just suggestions, not absolute necessities, and if sometimes he doesn't get to working on something until it's past due and nobody needs it anymore...well, whatever. On to other things, then! If someone needs him to help with something, the best way to make sure he'll be where and when he needs to be is to physically escort him there, and to go pick him up well ahead of time to make sure they can pull him away from whatever else he might be doing.
Challenge: To purr-tect and serve!
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION : CAT FORM
Based on my real, deceased pet cat. (
reference pictures here)
Face/Ears: see reference pics. note the small tufts of black fur on the tips of the ears and the notch in one ear
Body: Adult, slightly large in size, but not overweight, about 12 pounds. star is a light golden yellow
Fur: fur is a grey/brown tabby with white muzzle, feet and belly. (I'm not too picky about the exact stripes and markings, as long as they're recognizably based on the photos.)
Eyes: hazel; light green with a ring of light brown around the pupil
Accessories: bright pink collar with a silver bell (see reference)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION : HUMAN FORM
Eyes: same color as cat form. shape is wide and round
Hair: dark brown with medium brown highlights, short, with a tousled look to it
Face: Oval with average features
Clothes: He was named after Oliver Twist, so maybe take inspiration from clothes of that time period? So the kinds of things a street kids would wear in Victorian times; jacket, vest, short pants, etc., and I like the hat in
this picture. But unlike Oliver Twist, Ollie's clothes should not look patched, faded and ragged, but should be clean, new, and maybe add a hint of steampunk to be more fanciful. Colors should be neutral earth tones, like browns, grey, some muted blue or green. He should also be wearing his collar from cat form, or maybe a scarf in the same color, which is by far the brightest part of his outfit. Appears to be in his mid-teens.
