Aldo couldn't believe his bad luck. First he hadn't been able to catch anything to eat for days, and then when he finally did, he lost it to a lion and had also gotten some pretty deep wounds! He groweld a bit as he continued to lick one of them. They had been mostly healed already, but he kept checking up on them to make sure.

After he was done, he laid down in the shade of the tree he was under, not only annoyed at life, but his situation. He was tired of wandering around, but he wasn't sure if he actually wanted to join any of the groups he had passed before. Why was this so hard?

User Image Things hadn't gotten much better for Arwach Môr after he and his sister had managed to get out of the thorny patch they had tumbled into. Not only had he bruised his pride, but his body had sustained a few cuts and scrapes from the ordeal. They had managed to re-join the Viking group and had made it back to the Stormborn without much fuss, but to Arwach it had been a failed first Viking. He was out with a new Captain now, without his sister, and things still weren't looking up. They hadn't come across any treasure, nothing to take home with them, and it was starting to irritate the blue lion quite a bit.

As he walked he kept an eye out for anything of interest, and it wasn't too long before he spotted a leopard resting under the shade of a tree. He narrowed his eyes a bit and looked around, but the leopard was alone. Hm...perhaps he'd have something he could take home.

He strode confidently up to the smaller feline, looking down his nose as he spoke. "Are you alone?"

Aldo looked up and around the area. He could smell something. That was when he noticed a lion approaching. Aldo got up, just in case the lion had decided to make him the next meal, but as it got closer, Aldo could tell that the lion was not running to attack, but more striding up to him at a self-assured pace. That was interesting, though that didn't mean the lion was only there to be friendly. After being in the rogue lands for so long, you make sure that you don't trust every stranger that comes up to you.

After the lion had approached, he asked Aldo if he was alone. Well, that was quite the loaded question. If he said he was alone, would he be attacked? If he said he wasn't alone, would the lion see through his lie? Well clearly, but what was this lion up to? "Yes..." Aldo replied after a bit, eyes almost glaring at the lion, waiting for the other to make the wrong move.

Arwach swished his tail back and forth as he waited for an answer, his ears turning this way and that to pick up on any sounds of an ambush. In the distance he could hear the soft roars of communication between the other lions in the Viking party, but they were much too distant to see or hear the conversation he was having now.

When the answer came he smirked just a bit. Good.

"Then you'll be wise to tell me if there's anything noteworthy in this area. Prides, herds of animals, perhaps anything valuable?" He wasn't even sure what might constitute value to a leopard, but hey, if the other male thought it was important it would be worth checking out.

"A group of lions and I are sweeping the area to survey it. Any that stand in our way will be dealt with accordingly, so your cooperation is in your best interest."

Aldo raised an eyebrow when the lion gave his order. This lion was quite cocky and seemed a bit conceited, especially as he just ordered Aldo to tell him everything. At least the lion had told him others were coming so he could at least have a chance in running away.

It might be a good idea to tell the lion what he knew and perhaps he could make an escape for it then. Or maybe the lion would let him go. Aldo shrugged his shoulders in response. "All I know is that I've been unable to catch food for a while, and there's at least one other lion in the area who stole my kill. So, not much." Hopefully the lion would be content with the truth and wouldn't think that Aldo was lying. The leopard certainly had the cuts to prove it.

Arwach waited for the answer and when he got it, he had to admit he was a bit disappointed. He could tell the leopard wasn't lying about anything too big, considering he looked a bit thin and he had a few somewhat fresh marks on his hide. Still, that didn't mean there wasn't something around here. He made a mental note to ask the other Reavers if any of them had taken food from a leopard recently. He'd have a bone to pick with them if they did! Not sharing the spoils was against the rules, and they seemed to be a pretty rule-bound pride. If it wasn't someone from the group he was with then they'd have another feline to keep their eyes out for.

"How long have you been in this area?" he asked, tail twitching as he slowly circled the tree to see if there was anything of note on the other side. Nope. Just a few old tusk marks form where an elephant had rubbed against. He came back to the other side but paused beside the leopard rather than in front of him, a brow raised.

Aldo was still cautious of the lion. The lion did look a bit disappointed. Maybe that meant the lion believed him? Perhaps, but best to be on ones guard. He hadn't had to be in too many fights within his lifetime, however he had learned after a while that you were on your own out here and that there was competition for resources. He was surprised though, Aldo didn't know of any traveling prides. Or at least ones that strayed too outside of their borders unless they were moving elsewhere.

Aldo watched the lion circle the tree. Well, the stranger wouldn't find anything behind him at least. He could tell that the lion was disappointed though was wondering why the lion had decided to go beside him. "A few weeks at most. I've been trying to find a good area for food, but so far I haven't found any place like that." Aldo was curious about the lion, he had mentioned that there were others. "Do you often travel with others?"

Arwach gave a soft snort, remembering all too well what it was like to be a rogue. He had been born and raised one and had spent his life up until a few weeks ago being one. There were time when it was wonderful and time that he had hated it, thus when his sister had found him she had convinced him to join the pride she had become a part of years ago.

"Not often," he said, flicking his trail as he walked forward once more, sniffing the breeze. His group was moving on, so he'd have to leave soon. He wanted to see if he could get a bit more information out of this male before he left, though. Turning to face him again, he pressed on. "The pride I am from travels quite often, though. Tell me, was the lion that attacked you decorated in any way? Braided mane or anything like that?"

There were a few tell-tale ways to pick a Stormborn from the crowd. If the lion sounded at all like one of those in his group he'd have to ask them who stole from a leopard and hadn't shared.

Well, it seemed Aldo didn't have to worry about the lion's group with his reply. That was good to know, though he would still have to move out of the area anyway.

The lion seemed to be genuinely concerned about the attack on Aldo, though more in a sense, it seemed, of who the lion was rather than anything having to do with Aldo. Aldo tried to think of what the lion looked like. It had mostly been a blur as it had gotten him from behind. Was it male, female? Definitely female. Though as to what the lion specifically looked like... all he could remember was some black and different colored paws. Nothing else specific came in mind.

Aldo shook his head. "If I remembered I would tell you, but it I unfortunately didn't manage to get a good look, especially since she came from behind me. She just had different colored paws, but that's about half the lionesses you see anyway." Aldo replied, finally moving away from the tree a bit. His hunger was starting to get the best of him again, and with that group of lions coming through, it would be best to start looking elsewhere for food.

A female with different colored paws. There were a few lionesses in the group he was in, but all of them were solid in coloration with a few markings on their faces or backs. No two-tone paws.

"Very well," he said, turning away for a moment to sniff the breeze again, whiskers blowing lightly as it picked up. Time to go. "Well. Good look finding food. I'd clear out of here just in case. It doesn't seem there's much in these parts."

He left with that as his farewell, not bothering to learn the leopard's name or give his own. He was Viking now, after all. If there was nothing of interest to take then there was no reason to stay or get invested. The leopard had cooperated so there was no need to bully or capture him. Just let him go and he'd be on his way.

Aldo nodded in reply to the lion and watched as the lion went off, probably to join the rest of his group. Well, Aldo was going to live another day at least. Interactions like these happened quite a bit in the roguelands, and made him wonder if joining a pride would be better than staying on his own.

Regardless, Aldo headed the lion's parting words and started to head out of the area. This was not the place to stay, whether there were lions or not.

All right ending it, and though it was short, thanks for the rp! I'm going to change the title just so it fits a bit more.
