Mintaka's wounds weren't serious, now that she had been taken home and cared for. The first week of being back had her body readjusting to food...water. To more light.

She had huddled under covers, and only talked to Mags, where she would hold him and ask to be held. When he left to do his duties, she would wander the large mansion, albeit slowly thanks to the wound that Castor left. They weren't not deblitating injuries, mostly for show, but they hurt and were to slow to heal.

Perhaps it was because she wished them to heal even faster. And in this despair, she felt the hate welling deep inside her. Captured and tortured and abused. Those things...she had faced before. She wanted to believe that order had been better then negaverse but none of negaverses agents had ever threatened her...or scared her as much as Castor had.

As the whole ordeal had.

After all, it was a negaverse agent she was in love with, that had saved her from his own faction. She had told Mags that she wouldn't power up again, but she didn't feel safe in her own home without him here and so, when she donned Mintaka, she pressed into the cold comforting feeling of Mirrorspace.

She never understood why she enjoyed it so much here, but that it called to her in a way. It comforted her. It was like, it almost understood. She made her way towards Ares throne, and was surprised when she saw another figure there.

"Hello Remarque." The origami senshi tilted her head as she came closer to the male senshi. She hadn't seen him...well...since the meeting. Did he know about her capture? Was he the one who was aligned with Castor? No...no that was Leto. She would never trust the princess again.

"Mintaka," Remarque greeted, both surprised and glad to see her. He had known bits and pieces of the kidnapping, and he had wanted to see Mintaka sooner.

But things did not always go the way he wanted.

At the very least, he was relieved to see that she was alive—and she looked well. At least, considering what he knew the White Moon had been doing. She looked, at the very least, in one piece.

He had no intention of sharing all of his information with her; Castor might have approached him about it, but he was not so keen to reveal such a thing. Especially not when he still wanted to pay the Prince back tenfold for what he'd confessed.

No matter how Castor tried to justify it, Remarque had no intention of forgiving him.

But, Mintaka was alive. He had not heard anything of her status in some time, and he expected the worst, but this was a most pleasant surprise.

There was unmistakable concern in his eyes.

"You look…" There wasn't really much sugar coating it. "Tired. Are you all right?"

"That's a very polite way of saying I look decent." She tried to smile back, oh boy did she try, but instead it came as a wavering weak turn of the lips.

"Not so much all right." She looked around and then crossed her arms. Solitude was something that usually came in mirrorspace. The only people, she thought, that could stop here for long periods were eternals or higher. Unless invited by them. And as far as Mintaka knew, she was one of very few of them.

"I was captured by order." She rubbed her eyes, "And tortured by one of their princes. Along with the general care that comes from being a captive." Her dark red eyes flared with anger. "Do you know Castor?" She looked up at him, "Castor says he is aligned somehow with us. Is it with you?" She wanted to make sure, where he stood. Remarque had always been cunning, playing the fields of both order and nega's. That's how she had wanted to be, but she had shifted to negaverse a bit more, and now, after this capture....She saw no need to do anything with Order.

Remarque's lip twitched when she mentioned Castor, and a look of anger flashed through his eyes. He had not seemed happy to hear her have to tell him what they'd done to her, and his hands clenched into fists at his side. "I have heard of him," he answered smoothly, but there was disdain in his voice.

Lying was nothing new to Remarque.

He just didn't seem to enjoy it so much anymore.

But he was reading Mintaka as carefully as he could, trying to judge just what he wanted to say to her. He couldn’t very well say he was aligned with the man who tortured her, but the 'alliance' was nothing but words, for now. Remarque wasn't even sure he could consider it anything worth mentioning. Castor had told him they had Mintaka, but not who, or where. And he had aided in her torture.

Not really points on the friendship scale.

"We've spoken," he finally said, though shrugged it off as though it had been an unimportant meeting. "He was very full of himself, and very attached to old ideals. He still thinks the Dark Mirror Court is run by Ares. Or Nehelenia, or some woman I've never heard of." He waved his hand dismissively. "We fought. I broke his wing. I've seen him once since then, I think. But I was not particularly fond of him then, either."

Not lies. Just not the whole truth.

But he did not want to talk about Castor. He wanted to talk about the other ones. The ones he could still pursue. "Who were they? What did they want from you?" he asked, brows knit. "We've done nothing to them that would warrant kidnapping—torture. That's not how we've played, and I'd thought they were better than that. Clearly, I was mistaken to think their good would stop them from stooping so low. —Do you want to sit down?"

He waved his hand, suddenly; a chair appeared next to her.

And, most importantly: "…What can I do for you?"

Mintaka seemed comforted by the idea that Castor had suffered at some point by their prince, but it made her wonder why the prince had told her that he was aligned with them. If it wasn't Remarque, then it was Leto and Mintaka hadn't really seen the princess...besides the one meeting.

And Leto had let them all know her particular feelings about the negaverse. Warranted, Mintaka thought, but not smart.

But neither was she, with her extremely new found hatred of the white moon court and everything it stood for. With Chariklo purified out, Mintaka wondered if corruption by Auro's hand would've been better then this struggle?

She ran a hand down her arm. Trying to pull herself from her internal misery. "We're a family, not a monarchy." She looked at him for confirmation, "It was a whole slew of order. Senshi...and knights. I didn't...I wasn't able to get names besides Castor." She tilted her head away, ashamed. "They wanted to punish. Because we're chaos, because everyone the took was chaos. Punish and demand information." She thought of Aoki, "One of the knights, he was practical. He just wanted to know more about our court." The chair appeared and she took it gratefully.

"I am no longer surprised what order does anymore." She nibbled at her lip, "I loathe to accept it, but to them...we are nothing but chaos. And now...and now with the purifications....now they know we can be them, so its join or die." She laughed miserably.

"Tell me where to go...What am I doing again?" She looked at him, "What battle are we fighting for anymore Remarque?"

Remarque's lip twitched, no matter how he tried to hide his anger. He was mad—mad for her, and mad that people would be so foolish. Mad that a small group could do so much harm.

He was mad that her faith was uprooted, and that now she had to fear them. He was mad that he couldn’t tell who was good and who wasn't anymore.

"We are fighting for ourselves, and for the people we care about. We are fighting because neither Metallia nor the Senshi, or Knight, know what is best for this world, and they are all meddling. We are fighting because we cannot let this world pass us by—we cannot let them make decisions for us."

He had to force his jaw to relax; he'd been clenching it. He had to remind himself that most of the Senshi, the Knights…

They weren't like this.

Most of them listened to reason. Most understood that things were not black or white.

Most would not be able to stomach what others had put Mintaka through.

"…But I understand if that is not a fight you want to be involved in," he added, softer. "If you need time to yourself, you should take it. You've been through a lot."

Even though he had been relieved when she sat down, he was still on edge. Worried that she was fragile, like glass, and that if he said the wrong thing he might break her. "…A lot, that you should not have had to suffer. You have done nothing wrong, and they were fools to think otherwise. You did not deserve punishment, and even if you had, this was not their decision to make. They should be punished. Judged, by their own. But I would be more than happy to hunt them, myself. I will not let them live thinking they can harm our Court like this."

Remarque had not killed. He would not kill.

But he knew how to beat a man hard enough to make him fear for his life.

"I thought an alliance with the negaverse would shield me from some idiots of the order, in fact, I have never done anything that our court isn't willing to do already." She shook her head, "I've never killed, nor have I taken from innocents. Order will not see it that way." Even in her help with Auro and Umber, the dark mirror eternal had never seen the two take lives.

Perhaps they held back when she was around, or perhaps thats just the way they were, but for a court that survived on the energy of others, asking the white moon who knew nothing of the struggle to understand, was a concept she would never fully grasp.

His words made her tired but happy in a weird sort of sense. The fact that he felt so strongly for the court, was the whole reason she had joined. The family she yearned for and the group they were should've been enough. But she wanted to help and contribute and...

She tucked herself as small as she could in the chair and brought her legs up to her chin. It was true, that the more she suffered, the more she felt like glass. Thin, easy to break. It only took one more stone and she would shatter.

So much, she thought, for being strong.

"I'm tired." she admitted, "Tired of fighting and war. I wasn't made for this." She shook her head, "and trying to pretend to be something I am not..."

Remarque's lips remained pursed; he didn't like seeing her like this, and he disliked more that someone who thought they were doing the right thing would up doing this.

He wanted to reach out and put a reassuring hand on her shoulder but didn't want to intrude on her personal space. Instead, he just waved his hand and brought another chair to stand across from her. He slouched into it, sighing.

"I don't know what you think you're pretending to be, but don't let them get to you, Mintaka. They cheated, and played dirty, when we thought they were better than that. It's not your fault. They took advantage of the Court. It's no great secret that—numberwise? We're the weakest in this war. We're an easy target. I've spent years trying to make connections so things like this don't happen. I've spent years throwing my weight around to prove that we're not weak. But someone decided to push buttons that shouldn’t be pushed. I suspect your opinion of Order will be permanently clouded, and I know it's no great assurance if I tell you they're not all like that. Because it doesn't matter if most of them are good—if even one of them isn't, it means you don't know who can be trusted. But."

He paused, perhaps to catch his breath, or perhaps for effect.

"You have never been anything but true to yourself. You didn't deserve what happened, and if I find out who was involved, I will make them pay."

For her, for vengeance, and to prove that their Court was not prey.

"Let me worry about fighting, and war. You need to take care of yourself. Mintaka—if you need a break, take one. Don't push yourself any harder than you can. No one is going to hold it against you. Take a vacation—get away from Destiny City for a while. But don't give up. That's not you. You're better than that—and you're better than them."

And all they had done was prove it; the Dark Mirror Court hadn't resorted to torture, not like that. If Remarque had his way, they never would.

They'd prove that they were better than the White Moon, in whatever way they could.
