LIMBARA (pl. Limbaras) - Seemingly made for the defensive, the limbara are slow and steady creatures with near impenetrable hides and tough bone structures protruding from their skulls. They don't seem to attack very often, but rather will just let their attacker wear itself down until it loses interest. In a pinch it will use its sharp bite to have the final say in a battle. After her encounter with Lennart V'demhe had a lot to think about. Not only was there an issue with what her sisters were doing but she was concerned for the girl she'd run into. The poor thing looked haggard. Before she could make it all the way back to shore, however, she ran into one of Yael's beasts. The alk had already seen the one that slithers, but this one.. Well he was big.
While not paying attention she had stumbled upon the creature and apparently had disturbed it's nap. Dem barely had time to back step and reach for her blades when the large armored beast came rushing at her. For something so big it moved surprisingly fast! V'demhe rolled out of the way just in time to avoid being run over but she got clipped by that armor plating. It knocked her over and she grunted. There would be a bruise on her shoulder later.
Upon getting back up onto her feet, Dem had her blades out and ready to go. With knowing how hard that shell of it's was she knew that her blades wouldn't do anything to it. However, there was the exposed skin! The large creature took its time turning around but when it did it came surging toward her once more.
Rather than stand there and wait for the attack she ran at the Limbara with a loud yell. Dem was hoping her scream would frighten it just a little bit so she could have the advantage. And she was right! The loud noise she'd made caused the beast to stumble a little which gave her an opening to slash at the vulnerable front legs. Nothing too deep, since she didn't want to actually kill the thing, but it was definitely send the message that she was not to be trifled with. Her move managed to stop the beast from being aggressive any farther.

While she had the beast down the idea that this large, and very dangerous, beast would make a perfect familiar for one of her daughters crossed her mind. Of course she figured it would fit with Galene more so than little Masika.
Dem had never actually tamed a beast before so she wasn't at all sure how it was done. Both Maha and Tanou had chosen her. Still, she approached the Limbara, cautiously, and looked for a way to keep it under control. Even for as tall as she was this beast was large and posed a new set of issues. What could she control it with? And since she'd hurt it's front legs how was she going to help it walk? Not to mention getting it across the ocean to the main lands.
As she was thinking about all these and more the Limbara shuffled. Seeming to realize that it was in some type of danger it gruffawed at her and swung it's head around to snap at her. V'demhe leaped back and away from the toothy mouth then glared at it. With no way to keep it calm or even really to transport the thing she'd have to let this one go. No huge familiar for her daughters today.
