 The young freshling tottered down the hallway with a certain grace; her every step was filled with reassurance and she carried herself with a certain smugness, as if she believed she owned these hallways. The bakaneko, needless to say, was sure that she did. While young, she was proud of her looks, which she put needless time into upkeeping. Coupled with the fact that she was one of the newly discovered races, her appearance usually rewarded her with compliments and attention, something she had, for better or for worse, based her personal worth on.
It was still early in the morning, however, and many of the academy students were either eating breakfast or getting ready for class. This meant that the hallway was unfortunately rather empty... Mao took a mental note of the inhabitants; a couple freshling and a group of juniors conversing amongst themselves. She eyes flickered around, trying to gauge others' reactions - to her surprise, they seemed to see right past her. Why aren't they paying attention to me, she thought to herself, growing aggravated. The bakaneko lingered for a little longer, expecting to see someone come up to her and greet her, or tell her she was cute, or something... But they blissfully ignored her. She harrumphed under her breath, clearly irritated, before stamping her feet slightly with each step down the hallway.C-C-CaFFIENE [[ sorry for potentially multi notifications. was fixing a typo Q_Q]]

 Ah school...it was the bane of her existence. How could someone as beautiful as her actually be forced to sit through these classes with such mundane people? It was outrageous. Rasia slung her backpack over her shoulders, of course the backpack was cute and matched her outfit for the day. Was she ready for another day of school...absolutely not, but beauty and brains would be nice to have. It would make her that much more intimidating. The nixie made her way through the halls, doing her best to ignore all the boring little sheep she passed.
Oh? What was this? Finally someone caught her eye. Maybe today wasn't going to be so bad after all. She briefly watched the bakeneko stomp her feet as she walked. Ras giggled to herself, she knew that feeling all too well. She confidently walked up to the girl, one eyebrow raised. "Well, hello there! I couldn't help but notice that you're sooo much different than all these other bland students. Your hair is like, so shiny and pretty---and your markings! Oh. My. Gosh. I'm Rasia, feel free to return the compliments." She stood there, hand on her hip, waiting to be told how pretty she was too.

The bakeneko was getting ready to throw a temper tantrum of some sort but was thankfully interrupted by another student who was able to see her superiority to the other students. Mao's gaze snapped towards the other freshling - a nixie with olive green hair that seemed to fall perfectly in place. Her eyes were a similar color as well and complimented her features. But most notable to Mao, the nixie seemed to radiate confidence through her body language. Mao noted how she held herself too - dignified, respectful. Ahh, perfect. Another like her - someone that understood their importance in the world! Smirking slightly at Rasia, she flicked some of her hair back casually before crossing her arms, making a point to look the freshling up and down as if she was evaluating her.
After spending ample time in reviewing the nixie, she finally spoke up. "Glad that you can pick out perfection. I'm Mao," she replied, her words mixed with a slight purr. While she was generally not the type to dish out compliments, she couldn't help herself this one time; clearly this Rasia had style. "And your hair is fabulous. It looks so smooth - how do you keep it so straight? And your outfit! Clearly you know color coordination better than anyone I've ever met. You must tell me how you do it."

As the bakeneko complimented her she struck some poses, skowing off every side of her outfit and then running her fingers through her bangs. She could live off of compliments.This was probably the single best day of her young life. Finally. Finally there was someone that she could relate to. Someone that she wouldn't be imbarassed to be be seen with. Could this be her very first friend? They could easily run the academy with their beauty alone. The possibilities were endless. To be sure there was no way Mao wouldn't be her friend. The nixie decided, without asking, that they were now the best of friends. Without warning Rasia linked arms with the other freshling. "Let's skip our first class and go to the lunchroom together! I'll tell you allllll about my clothes. Oh! Maybe we can go to that cute new clothing boutique that opened up in the square downtown! " Rasia giggled as she swayed back and forth, gently bumping into her new friend.

Mao certainly wouldn't argue with the nixie's declaration; she was very happy to become friends with someone that would be able to understand her so perfectly. And Rasia was the perfect candidate; she had good sense of style and appreciated looks. The bakeneko couldn't help but daydream a little - she couldn't help but imagine the two of them adorned in fancy clothes and crowns of their heads, surrounded by a plethora of freshling subjects that worshiped them. Finally, someone fit to rule with her! The freshling let out a soft but giddy squeal.
Before she would get the chance to fantasize more, she felt Rasia link arms with her. She emitted a giggle happily. "Oh my gosh, YES. Let's do it, like this instant!" she exclaimed, skipping forward happily towards the lunchroom. "Where have you been like, all this time? How have I not met you sooner??" she asked rhetorically.C-C-CaFFIENE [[ np <33 and yes same, so cute and amusing at the same time hahah ; w ; ]]

As she sauntered down the hallways, her new bff in tow, she couldn't help but think of all the possibilities this was opening up for her. Now she finally had someone to go on shopping sprees with. She had someone who she could tell secrets to! Oh and best of all...she had someone she could gossip with and talking meanly about other people to. Rasia giggled happily. "Seriously though, how have you not met me sooner? It's not like beauty such as mine is easy to miss~!"
The lunchroom entered into view and Rasia scanned the open space. When she saw all the boring students she was once again reminded of why school sucked so much. Well. It sucked a little less with Mao here with her now. Green eyes scanned the room. Nerds. Jocks. Weirdos. Girls who were trying to be cool and pretty, but obviously were trying too hard. The nixie lifted and eyebrow and smirked. Oh man, this was like a buffet. There were so many people here that she could talk poorly about with Mao.
Rasia pushed past some students that were walking too slow and sat down at an empty lunch table, grinning from ear to ear. "Oh. My. Gosh. Did you see that out fit that fey is wearing?" She spoke loudly enough that they student she was talking about could hear her. "And don't even get me started on that abomination that dork calls a dress! Where do these people shop?"

Mao walked alongside Rasia with a confident strut, all too happy with how her day was now going. "I guess the school was trying to keep us seperated because they were too scared of what would happen," she replied, giggling loudly.
Reaching the lunchroom, she too gazed over the room, pink eyes judging every single face she spotted. As was usual for the bakeneko, her mind instantly flooded with first impression thoughts on the innocent bystanders. Oh, her forehead is too big. His eyebrows are too thick. Her ears are freakishly small!!! And of course, there were the freshlings that were obsessed with their looks because frankly, they had no attractive features. Her eyes flicked towards Rasia, who seemed to be thinking the same thing. Perfect. Truly perfect. She had found a true friend.
Following her to the table, she sat down and emmitted a soft purr. "Oh, don't get me started on that. Doesn't she know that orange is totally NOT in right now? She probably goes to that cheap bargain store in the mall because she's too cheap to afford something that'd actually look good on her...Though I'm not sure if there's anything that would." She giggled loudly, pleased with herself and Rasia, and not at all caring about the fey's feelings they might have hurt. Looking around for some more victims, she motioned her head to the right and added in, "Oh my gosh, look at that fallen. This literally had to be the best day of her life. Well, maybe not her whole life, but at least her life up to this point. They were totally going to run this school together. Everyone would want to be like them and the people who didn't would be scared of them. Sometimes gossip is much more powerful and hurtful than physical bullying. "Oh my gosh ew, that bargain store is totally disgusting! I went in there once, not to buy anything, just to laugh at people. I couldn't even stay in the very long...it just smelled like old people and hobos." Rasia smirked as she ran her fingers through her bangs.
Mao had spotted another easy target? The nixie was just beaming with proudness at her new friend. "Did a blind person cut his hair? Hang on, I have an idea, just stay here for a minute." Rasia stood up and strutted over to the fallen, leaning closer to him as she passed behind him. "You are like, totally brave, you know that? If I had your haircut I wouldn't be seen in public~" She had said it loud enough that Mao could overhear her. After embarassing the boy she continued walking towards the lunch line, cutting in front of several kids, she grabbed two waters and made her way back to Mao.
She sat back down with a pleased look on her face and handed the water bottle to her friend. "We are so going to make a good team, you know that?"
DeeJaye Oh no, I totally get that. Work has been crazy for me lately.

Mao's eyes widened slightly at Rasia's words, and she giggled loudly. "Oh my gosh, I never thought about doing that. You are so brave for even going in there. I feel like I'd pass out from how gross the bargain store is," she said. She paused and then declared, "Rasia, you're going to be my best friend forever. I never expected to find someone just as perfect as me, but I've been proved wrong." As Rasia tottered off to make fun of the poor fallen, Mao clapped her hands together happily. This nixie was able to do the things she always wanted to do with ease. They had just met yet she was confident she had found her best friend. The freshling could not help but feel a little jittery over it - she began to imagine the two hanging out, shopping together, gossiping together.... she definitely would be doing whatever she could to hang out with her. So as Rasia returned, Mao smirked at her smugly. "You really showed that fallen. Maybe he'll reconsider letting his caretaker give him such a dorky hair cut next time...but probably not. He looks like he does not understand. I guess most will never be as gifted as us."
Taking the water, the bakeneko curled her tail around herself contently. "No doubt. It will not take long until everyone will be begging us to grace them with out presence," she said, flicking some of her hair over her shoulder. She let her mind wander - she pictured the two decorated from head to toe in fancy designer clothes with oversized, expensive coat draped on them. Rings on each finger.... Even a crown on each of their head. Perhaps she was going too far, but she was still a freshling that did not know better.

There was no doubt in the nixie's mind, what Mao had said was just so true. Rasia's mind raced with thoughts of the two of them ruling the school. All of their classmates would willingly offer to do things for them just to be around the two coolest and most prettiest girls in school "Oh my gosh can you like imagine that? We could probably just snap our fingers and people would be fighting over who could hold our books!" She clasped her hands together and giggled happily at the image running through her head.
Holidays were going to be fun too, because no doubt they'd get so many presents they wouldn't know what to do with all of them! It was all so exciting for her. Never had she thought she would actually make any friends at school and even though they had just met, she really couldn't imagine anyone else ever being half as good of a best friend. They were going to have to make it official though, "I have the best idea, Mao! There's this super cute cute downtown and I saw this really pretty best friend necklace! Should we get it? It's really fancy looking and they told me it had real diamonds on it! We would look so cute! We can go after school today~!" At least it gave her something to look forward to so classes would go by quickly.
