Kamryn paced the room, waiting for Ada to get back to the apartment. Would she accept his proposal? Or would she reject him?
All through classes he showed Ada with flowers and now, as she his TA, they lived together. He wanted to make the next step, to make her his forever... he just hoped that she would accept. He knew that children would be a huge step, but it was the next step, right?
He looked over the partially imbued stones that sat close by. She would just have to get home soon.

 Ada finally returned home after getting some things for dinner and shut the door behind her. "Kam, I'm home!" She called out to her beloved and sat the groceries on the counter to separate them so she could put them away. The Jubilee had been a time, and the apartment was now full of pets she and Kamryn had obtained during the festivities. Only now, she worried that Kam was being trapped by his slithery little friends. "Kam?"

Kamryn frowned to the stones for a moment as he heard the door close behind her. He was happy that she was home, but he was still worried about what he was about to do. Heck, at this point, he wouldn't be surprised if his leaves were quivering or changing from the stress. "I'm in the living room, could you come in here? We can unpack the groceries in a few minutes."
He quickly moved the stones out of sight. Sitting on the living room table would just ruin every ounce of the surprise.

Ada raised an eyebrow and walked into the living room, smiling at Kam. "Is everything okay? Are your coatls in the bed again?" She giggled, walking over to her love and hugging him, her tail twitching happily. Her embrace alerted her to Kam's tenseness, and when she looked up, she saw the spots of color on his leaves. "What's wrong, baby? You look nervous..."

"No... well, yeah, they technically are," he mumbled under his breath something about a padlock, but he pushed that aside as he held her. He just wanted to hold her forever and he wanted his hug to show that.
He lingered a few moments in her neck, just savoring her for a few more moments before releasing her and taking her hands, quickly stealing a kiss. "Ada, darling... I think you and I need to talk." He regretted that as soon as he said it. Smooth as gravel. He was going to lose his leaves if he kept this up, all the possibilities were playing through his head. He had to at least keep her from being worried, that wasn't the point of today, "Not a bad kind of talk, but a talk talk about something important."

Ada looked worried for a moment before Kam clarified it wasn't bad. But she still felt uneasiness pool in her stomach. "Sure, sweetface, what's up..? Are you okay?" She squeezed his hands gently, swaying her tail. She hoped it wasn't anything serious... But Kam looked really anxious. What could it be?

"Let me just start off with a little something," he gave her a small kiss and backed her up into the couch, gently sitting her down. Two more kisses followed to her brow, he hated seeing her worried, but he hoped that it would be worth the wait. He squatted down to take her hands, knowing that he'd have to move to grab up the gifts. "I love you more than anything. You're the light of my life and everything that I didn't know I needed." The hybrid gave her hands a squeeze, pushing himself up and going back towards the hiding place.
That part was the easy part, explaining this would be the hard part. "So, uh, when my parents met, it kinda went how we started. Dad showered mom in flowers and they started dating. They dated awhile until mom brought something home." He grabbed up the stones, turning towards her, "This is how they became engaged and had me." He knew it sounded odd, more so to have it explained, but it was their way of doing things up Above... though it was extremely awkward to say 'have my children,' when they hadn't talked about it much.
He knelt before her, offering the two stones and trying to smile past all of the anxiety and fear. Please don't say no! "My beautiful Adagio, will you do me the honor of being my wife? I promise I will do everything in my power to make you the happiest woman alive."

Something in Ada's mind broke the moment Kam turned around and presented her with two stones. Stones. Kam was asking her to... Oh jeez. Holy crap this was happening. The other question made her want to cry. Marriage... And cry she did. She smiled at him as a few tears ran down her face and she laughed. "Oh gosh... O-of course I'll marry you, you big stupid tree..." She wiped her eyes and reached out to touch his hands, mindful of the stones, smiling brightly.

"Thank you." He couldn't shake the big, goofy smile off his face as she said yes nor could he stop his own tears from welling up. He gently sat the stones beside her, taking her left hand in his own.
Reaching into his pocket with his free hand, he brought out a small ring, slipping it onto her finger. "I thought you would like one of these as well, I saw it and all I could think about was your eyes," it wasn't exactly traditional and his mother would probably pout that they didn't immediately imbue the stones, but her grandbabies could wait. This woman before him, no, his woman. His one and only was the only thing that mattered right now. The band was simple, but the pink gem glimmered brightly.
"I love you, Ada. I knew from the first moment I saw you that you were my world."

Ada looked down at the ring and smiled sweetly at her love, leaning in to kiss him lightly. Kam was such a silly man, but he was so absolutely charming. She loved him so very much. And now, they would spend the rest of their lives together.. And with little ones! "And I love you, more than anything... I'm so glad you didn't give up on me, Kam..." She rested her free hand on his cheek and grinned.
