User ImageHer family after traveling has finally settled down a bit, which meant she was now able to explore the land. Hoshi first asked her younger sister Hanami if she'd like to join her but her sister declined the offer considering last time she got them lost, it was only out of luck of seeing something familiar that helped guide the two back to their parents. Still, just because she got lost the first time didn't mean she'd end up doing it again. She wanted to convince Hanami she was capable of leading them back safely but her sister wouldn't have it and so the soquili with the kitsune features ended up exploring alone.

She had told her parents that she wouldn't wander too far this time. She also took note of the area and which path to follow to return home. As she continued to explore this unknown area she stopped before a large tree and noticed some flower buds on the tree's branches, ah so spring was about? She had heard stories of the spring weather and couldn't wait for it to come considering how cold it has been as of late. She certainty didn't want to deal with snow again.

As the mare continued she entered into an open clearing with a large pond with some ducks floating about, she stopped and took slight amusement as she watch them drift about. She smiled and glanced around, taking note that no one was around as she sat herself down before the pond. It felt so relaxing here. The next time her family made another round back to this place she would most certainty have to return to this spot. Hoshi continued to stare at the pond feeling at ease to the point she began to sing.

There was no need to be serious at the moment. No one was there. At least that is what she had thought...

Tomoe padded away from his herd as soon as he was able. It wasn't unusual for him to vanish for awhile after a long shift of patrolling the area around their small numbers. No one minded since it gave them peace from his.. company. He wasn't out to find anyone or anything, it was just his escape and at least with that the view changed often. It's the only reason he liked his herd roaming so much.

He had been walking for some time before he came upon a clearing that surely would be empty. It seemed far out of the way. Ducks were quaking, birds chirping. It sounded like spring was already well on the way to warming up the season and waking up those who slumbered through the winter. He unfolded his wings letting them stretch to their full size. Having them folded too long became uncomfortable in the joints, making them ache. His left wing caught and pulled on strands of his long mane, catching briefly before sliding through. He grumbled about the hair but like his brothers, could never think about shortening it. All of his family had it long so in a way it was a tradition.

As he stretched out those rather large wings he noticed a noise not like any relative animal he could think of. No it wasn't a noise at all.. a song. He huffed and moved further into the open space, glancing about until he spotted what surely was the cause of the singing. It was a mare and from this distance she looked.. easy on the eyes. Not one for starting up pleasant conversation, Tomoe moved away enough to still be in ear shot of the singing but not close to hopefully be noticed. There was a few patches of small purple flowers about.. maybe she wouldn't notice him. He slowly picked at strands of grass, he had to be in a mood to eat it and today like most days, wasn't it. He padded closer to the pond. His large canine paws sinking into the soft dirt and sand leaving behind his prints. The water reflected back his face, staring hard at the water with his usual grimace.

Hoshi was almost in a trance, until she sensed a presence close by and the mare like fox halted her singing. Her pointy ears perked and she turned to look in all directions to find a purple stallion with large and she mean's large wings close by her. Her glowing eyes stared hard as she tried to gather information based on appearance, he was much larger and he had paws. Though judging by his stance he did not look like an enemy...and even though she did not have paws her father did as well as his siblings. Hoshi continued to watch the stallion with interest.

His hair reminded her much like her father, Yuuta's hair and his siblings. It was long and lovely, she had long hair but not as long as their hair. She more resembled her other father, Star Galaxy besides her fox features. Her dad, Yuuta also had bear features in which she did not inherit. Hoshi soon grew bored watching and instead approaching the stallion, right away she could tell he seemed a bit stand-offish.

"Hello." she said with a smile.

She stood a good distance from the stallion. She didn't want to invade his personal space. Also, she wanted to have enough distance in case she needed to react to anything. Not that he seemed like he'd attack her or anything like that, she just knew it was better to be cautious. Hoshi looked towards the pond and watched the ducks
"It's a beautiful day!"

He tried not to sigh heavily when the mare approached. It really was impossible not to get noticed. At least so far she didn't greet him like one mare in his herd. He hated every time she brushed up against him, cheerful and flirty. No matter how much he growled and cursed, she would still do it knowing his distaste for any of her interactions. He couldn't give them much of a bigger clue he would rather be left alone. Now he was faced with a new mare who was just trying to be friendly. His teeth ground to keep from being snappish. "I wouldn't call it beautiful, it's a day."

With that he turned to lean his head down to slowly drink from the water. While he was thirsty, he was waiting to see how far she would take this friendliness. If she was one of those types to stand around trying to figure him out. The large wings tucked back neatly against his back, tipping down to cover a majority of his tail though strands of those black locks still fanned out on the ground. They hid the colorful flower marking on his side which he shared with all within his family. If she kept standing there he would have to show her the grumpy nature that he used on everyone to get some peace. He didn't like long winded conversations since he wasn't so eloquent with words or philosophical in thought. "So what do you want?"

Well that was off putting. She thought as she watched him take a drink. Hoshi debated on continuing this conversation, she did not want to make him angry with her, he was clearly much bigger then her. Her fluffy tail wrapped around herself in a protective manner and she just smiled at question or more like a bug off response "Oh. It's nothing really." she said softly while her ears twitched.

She moved closer towards the water and she too started to drink. She was careful to keep her fluffy tail away from the water, she never did like the feel of wet fur. She hated the rain and even the snow more. As she pulled away from the water she looked back at the stallion with the large wings
"Do you usually act like a stick in the mud?" she gave him a fang grinned. She was being pretty bold talking a stallion like him.

The thing was, she hasn't really talked to others besides those in her family. They all made good conversational partners...well some of them. Sure, she ran into the occasional guest or client but it's not like she could actually talk to them. Her golden eyes blinked
"Hmm..I take it you aren't exactly a fan of strangers...or others?"

She didn't know why she was wasting her time. She had a feeling he wasn't going to just suddenly change and be open for conversation, still here she was, being stubborn as usual. She just looked to him. Waiting for him to respond.

His ears flicked when she responded she didn't really want anything from him. That just seemed to clarify she wanted conversation which would be hard to find in much supply from him. His father, though more open to talk than Tomoe, was just as difficult as his mother would say. Always the protector, never the soft romantic.

With water still dripping from his jaw, he lifted his head with her question but didn't give her a glance. Ha! She wasn't the first to ask that of him though she was the first stranger. His brothers don't understand him either. "A stick, a log, a whole tree" he commented honestly. He had heard many different references to how he acted and this one was a nice one. Instead of answering her second question, he asked her his own. "Do you expect every soquili you meet to be friendly?" His head finally turned to take that long look at her. A strand of his long mane falling to frame around one of his eyes. "Cheerful conversationalists who jump for joy when you speak to them"

Hoshi mentally laughed inside as he called himself every form of a tree. He was sure amusing, she thought to herself. Her ears perked up at the question of his. She had only met a handful of soquili other then her family and most seemed eager to help. Well..they did when she got lost that one time.

"Well.." she paused as if thinking on her response, "I suppose not." there were after all many dangers in the world. She couldn't exactly approach a skinwalker and expect to leave with her head still attached to her body. Still, this stallion had not walked off uninterested, so therefore he might enjoy a little converse even if he didn't want to admit it. She let out a small sigh "If it displeases you so much, then I shall refrain and leave you be." she held her head up with pride, her eyes focused on him with sincerity.

He turned his attention away from her, starting to walk away though he didn't say she couldn't follow. He could give her a little credit at least, she was smart to not expect niceties from everyone. So far she didn't sound like a gullible type. He didn't need any mare hovering around him who needed saving from herself every day. His back might have been facing her but he still heard the sigh that came from her lips. Tss "Whatever." he stated simply. Like hell he would openly tell her he didn't mind terribly for now that she was still a presence. He shifted his wings over his back.

Hoshi look on, his back facing her and she wondered to herself, did he want her to leave him be?She was a bit confused by the body language. It didn't seem like he cared. As in..didn't care what she did. Though Hoshi didn't want to be a pest.

The mare like kitsune just smiled
"Farewell. Perhaps we shall run into one another again." she said softly, though didn't have her hopes up. Her family moved around a lot. Though she wouldn't mind seeing him again, even if he didn't really talk much. For some reason she just found him rather interesting and wanted to get to know him more. Something about meeting someone who wasn't an open book was refreshing.

So even though they did not exchange names this time around, perhaps next time they could?

Hehe after your post lets end this one and I can start up a new one so they can meet up again! If that's okay?

His pace had been slow but when he realized she wasn't tagging along, he picked up to a normal walk and rounded the body of water. The ducks quaked noisily as if bugged by his presence and took off into the air. It wasn't such a bad idea. The female wasn't going to follow which he took as a relief. She left him alone. Didn't pester him into trying to understand his aloof nature. In the back of his mind, his eldest brother gently scolded him to be nicer. That wasn't new at all. Like every time, he could block it out and some times even play nice to not upset Daisuke. A good distance from the pond he would unfold his large wings and took off to the skies back in the direction of where his herd was currently occupying for some trade or other such thing. He had forgotten what it was this time. They would make a round this way again some time within the year.

(Sounds good! Maybe she will make progress to learn his name hehe)
