Myst flipped her white hair out of her eyes and studied the landscape. It wasn't somewhere she had been before, so she wanted to see the lay out of the land before venturing out onto it. Normally, she stuck to her little glen far back in the woods she was thinking of exited now. But... she was bored, and there was no reason for her to stay at home, so she ventured out.
Wandering through the woods had been a simple, silent affair. The birds sang, the squirrels chittered, and everything was as it should be. See, again boring. Myst had promised herself a life of adventure, but as it was turning out, she was becoming a homebody who never did anything. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but it grated on her nerves when each day was just like the last.
So, her she was, over a days walk from home, wondering if she should venture forth or return. It seemed peaceful enough, a large, wide plain with short grasses constantly tossed about by the strong winds coming from what was probably a cliff. It was too far off to see properly, but it brought the scent of the sea, so it was most likely a quite a drop to the ocean. There were large rock outcroppings that would probably be comfortable for a cat when the sun was high, or smaller ones that might be nice to lean against.
Myst didn't sense any danger, or see any, or smell any, not that the last was very likely she hoped, but she had also never seen the sea, or the ocean, or whatever waterway was ahead and below. It sounded like a very small adventure, but maybe that''s how one got started? Small adventures that lead to bigger and bigger ones. Oh, well, only one way to find out. Even if she didn't find a new adventure on her way to see the water, she could at least say she had seen it, now couldn't she? That was better than yesterday.
The small imp stepped out of the shelter of the trees with a bounce in her step. The sun was still high, so she had plenty of time to make it across the plain toward the cliff before it would start to decend. The area was vacant, near as she could tell, but she could always be wrong about such things. And she would stick out in the short grass, black and white with a little bit of red. There wasn't a situation she had found where she could actually blend in, and wasn't sure she wanted to find such a thing. Flipping her hair out of her eyes again, she felt the curls bounce against her neck. It was always falling into her eyes. Still, with something nearly a hum, she moved forward on her first 'adventure'.
