CHILDHOOD Augustus and Elizabeth Selwyn were married for over fifteen years before Victor was born. Augustus never felt the need to rush; he was the eldest of four boys, two of which had gotten married and had kids right out of Hogwarts. Instead, he focused on the family business and only married Elizabeth when it was explicitly stated that his father, Victor's grandfather, would only retire if Augustus settled down and married. Soon after the wedding, Augustus returned to his work and his new wife was left alone, bored.
Elizabeth began an affair with an Italian man named Valentino which lasted five long years until Elizabeth became pregnant with Victor. Shortly after the birth of her first child, Elizabeth cut ties with her lover and devoted herself fully to Victor. She still fears the day that Augustus discovers the truth.
But all throughout Victor's childhood, he was coddled and babied like a true Selwyn. Unfortunately, more than half of his early years had been raised by the hands of their house-elves while his mother and father expanded the family business overseas. He was a little hellion, always ranting at the slightest inconvenience. His favorite words as an eight year old were, "Go away!" and "I hate you!"
SCHOOL YEARS Hogwarts was a rude awakening for him. None of the other students seemed to like him; he was too brusque, too opinionated, and too conceited. Victor hated being wrong, always had to be first, and would suffer no plight in silence. He knew what he wanted in life, and he didn't care what it would cost him to get there. As a result, he didn't make too many friends. Instead, he invested all of himself in his art work.
POST GRADUATIONQuickly taking a position at Selwyn Real Estate and Interior Decorating, he was being groomed to take on the position of CEO for the day when his father was ready to retire. He shadowed Augustus in every board meeting and with every shareholder. He was taught how to best handle employees, realtors, and customers; who to avoid and what not to say. On a trip overseas to begin a real estate market in France, Victor met, and dated Cecilia Malveux, a talented witch and metal charmer, infamous for her lovely statues and works of art decorating many French homes. Despite not having any particular feelings for her, (not any more or less than for the other women who frequent his bed) he was quickly engaged. Now in the throes of planning a wedding he's ultimately not interested in, Victor entertains himself in the arms of other women as a way to simply... "forget."

And will likely forget a lesson or lecture days after he's learned it if he doesn't consistently practice.
CHILDHOODGavin was born almost ten years after his elder brother Victor (and is the only trueborn son of Augustus Selwyn.) By the time he was born, his parents had a firm grasp on the family business, strong bonds within their inner circle, and were able to focus more of their time together and consequently, their son. Augustus was able to read and care for Gavin in a way he wasn't able to for Victor. Always having a watchful eye on him, Gavin grew to be much more curtly and deceptive to his parents than his older brother ever had been. When Gavin was seven, his mother was surprised to find she was pregnant, again. This time it was with a little girl named Ophelia. He didn't like her at first; only because she wasn't interesting. But once she began walking and talking, Gavin grew protective of his baby sister. He would drag her along to watch him play with his toys; trying to entertain her. Now that he's months away from his first year at school, he's ready to shake away the hovering hands of his parents and meet new friends.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEAR Keeping to his studies for the most part, Gavin made a few friends with his house mates, including Glynn Llewyn and Esther Spencer. He spent most of his time exploring the castle and reading in the library, keeping his nose out of trouble. He earned a starting position as chaser on the house team. Ravenclaw won the House and Quidditch Cup. SECOND YEAR Something odd had happened to Glynn over the summer, whatever it was, Gavin didn't get involved. It was easier to do homework and explore and practice quidditch without any worries. But it was rather lonely. He'll have to make more of an effort next year. But even with all of his practice, didn't win the House or Quidditch cup; Slytherin did. THIRD YEAR Gavin had a rather dull year, if it wasn't for quidditch, he would've been absolutely bored out of his mind. But he did get to play a few games as a chaser. The quidditch cup was a three way tie between Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, and the house cup was tied between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Two more years though, and he should be starting seeker, he can hardly wait. FOURTH YEAR Other than a few meals with his housemates, he kept to himself for the school year. Either studying for upcoming OWLs or practicing quidditch. Since he was the reserve seeker, he never played, and they didn't win either. Slytherin did, again. Over the summer, he received his prefects badge which sparked a long debate with his parents on looking for an arranged marriage. FIFTH YEAR Much of the year was spent studying for OWLs and practicing as a seeker. He lost against Hufflepuff and Slytherin but managed to beat Gryffindor for the snitch as his first year as seeker. He also befriended and had spent a bit of time with Reyna in the library and hallways. SIXTH YEAR Unbelievably, Gavin was shafted by the new quidditch captain, and was passed over for starting string and demoted to reserves. It was humiliating, but he tried not to let it show how much it bothered him. He was there to support the team, first and foremost. But with all the extra time on his hands he devoted more efforts to his studies and to spending time with Reyna whenever he could. SEVENTH YEAR The year flew by. Gavin gave up the quidditch team this year in order to prepare for his exams. Unfortunately, with the business of their final year, he didn't get as much time to spend with Reyna as he had hoped.
POST GRADUATION Shortly after graduation he put in an application to the Department of Mysteries for a position as an Unspeakable in the Death Chamber.

■ PERCEPTIVEObservant of her surroundings and the people around her, she can usually pick up on social cues to know when it's best to just hold her tongue, admit the truth, or lie. It isn't hard for her to tell when an adult is lying to her (mostly because they rarely try to hide it.) It's children and teenagers that are the tricky ones. She absorbs information quickly and easily; she's a fast-learner, critical thinker, and very imaginative. ■ DUTIFULObedient and well-mannered, Ophelia knows what is expected of her--even at such a young age. She never has to be told twice, and sometimes, doesn't need to be told at all. She is fiercely independent at this stage, and wants to do everything herself: from travelling to shopping. She wants to prove her worth to herself and her family. She would also like to be honest but that goes against everything her mother had been trying to teach her, "be clever, lie, and take advantage of every situation," her mother would say. Not that it mattered; she wouldn't see an advantage unless it dressed in peacock feathers and danced about. ■ GRACEFULEven during the peak of her playtime, she'll never be caught in a torn or dirty dress, and prefers skipping and hopping over running and jumping. She loves to sing, dance, and swim; she's not competitive, which makes her kind in victory as well in defeat. Ophelia was taught to be respectful, generous, and refined. And along the way has learned to be helpful, considerate, and kind (despite not being taught such.). ■ RESENTFULDespite her sweet and gentle nature, Ophelia can have a dreadful temper and it's the only way she resembles her mother. She's not a brat, she can handle being told "no" or to "hush, and wait". But one thing she does not take well to is being lied too. That's the worst offender. She also dislikes being brushed off like dirt, or being undeservedly disrespected. She avoids open confrontation in favor of back-talking, side-eye glaring, and eye rolling. But when push comes to shove, she's not afraid to use that shrill-high voice to make her opinion known. ■ CONFIDENTBold, bright, and bubbly, Ophelia is more than sure of herself and her place in life. She's open-minded and tolerant. Above all, she's not afraid of failure. But she hates being dirty or unkempt; it lowers her self esteem. As such, she's always wearing colorful dresses, expensive shoes, and has a penchant for changing her outfit at least four times a day. ■ SUPERFICIALShe likes pretty, shiny, and expensive. She'd rather have a brand new toy than spend quality time with her mum and da'. She loves shopping with her mother and dressing up in her "mature" gowns and high heels. She's much more likely to read a book with a pretty cover than a plain one; the same seems to hold true for other children and people she meets outside of the family. The prettier and more interesting someone is, the more likely she is to follow along with whatever they say and do as they ask.
CHILDHOOD The youngest and only daughter of the Selwyn siblings, Ophelia is the baby of the family. Her mother and father not only have more experience raising children, but have much more time to devote to her than they could to their two eldest boys'. As such, Ophelia was never wanting for love or attention. Her father read to her every morning and night, and encouraged her to continue her studies throughout the day. Her mother taught her life lessons; though Ophelia often admits that she hardly understands, her mother assures her that one day, she will. When she was not practicing her letters, numbers, and shapes, she was learning the basics of sewing, stitching, and embroidery; the ways to identify different magical plants and creatures; wizarding history; as well as how to sing, dance, and speak like a proper young lady. When given the chance to play, she was usually in her room surrounded by her dolls and stuffed animals or playing dress-up in her closet.
As she grew older, she shadowed her mum nearly everywhere she went. To parties, banquets, benefits, and fundraisers, Ophelia never said much during these events but she watched and she learned. Her mother would forge alliances, broker deals, and generally lie through her teeth to everyone she met. All in the name of good business, her mother would say, among other things. Ophelia's particularly favorite saying of her mothers is "it's not what you know, but who you know."
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEAR [2039-40] For the most part, Ophelia did what she does best: be quiet and listen. She made some acquaintances though, sure, but no real friends. No one that she felt she could owl over the summer, anyway. She hoped to change that next year. ___EXTRACURRICULARS N/A SECOND YEAR [2040-41] Ophie was happy to spend most of her free time working with her theatre group for their upcoming play. She helped with most of the costume designing. Next year, she's hoping for an on-stage role. ___EXTRACURRICULARS Joined the Hogwarts Drama Club. THIRD YEAR [2041-42] Ophelia had an easy school year, she bounced between cliques and made three new close friends: Alex, Sarah, and Anthony (npc's). ___EXTRACURRICULARS Drama Club FOURTH YEAR [2042-43] She got in a fight with one of her friends at the start of the year, Sarah (npc) friend was cheating on their other friend, Anthony (npc), and Ophelia couldn't keep the lie any longer.
