 "It's a bit of a drive to the heart of Mercielle-- so lets play a question game!" Todd came up with some questions to ask her and asked her one by one the following:
1. What movie deserves a sequel? (Old Yeller)
2. What one toy would you like to throw repeatedly at a brick wall? (A rubber ball)
3. What is one thing a woman should never do? (Trust a man with a top hat and a curly black mustache. Because they'll tie them to a railroad track.)
4. Who would you hate to see naked? (My cat)
5. What is your favorite kind of cereal? (Lucky Charms)
6. What is one thing you always wanted as a kid, but never got? (I don't remember.)
7. If you were in a witness protection program, what would be your alias? (I would be the stunt double for Fabio. And my name would be Fabio.)
8. What is the nicest thing someone else has done for you? (A few years ago, I was in the hospital and my nurse took good care of me.)
9. If you could bring someone famous back from the grave, who would you choose? (I would bring Elvis back so he can make more music.)
10. Where do you not mind waiting? (An arcade.)

She enjoyed the drive with Todd, he kept things interesting. She agreed with a few of his answers and had to think before each of her own.
1. Old Yeller. (Because she couldn't think of anything else.)
2. Any type of ball that bounces.
3. Eat garlic, spinach, or corn on the cob on a first date.
She giggled after she answered. "I read that off my dad's newspaper this morning."
4. My dad.
5. Same thing. Lucky Charms.
She thought for a moment. A smile came to her face. We actually have a few things in common.
6. A dog.
7. Couldn't think of an answer.
She laughed, hearing his answer. "How can I beat that?
8. Her best friend from Florida stayed with her night and day when she got sick one time.
Her once happy face now had a sad smile formed on her lips. She missed her. She quickly put on a smile, not wanting Todd to worry.
9. My grandmother.
10. A bookstore.

Todd grinned as he thought about Old Yeller. "Now don't you feel bad about throwing rocks at this nice man?... I'LL BUST HIM ANOTHER IF HE TAKES MY DOG!" He chuckled as he imagined the little boy throwing rocks. Amy's answer about what a woman should not do, he nodded in agreement. "I think that goes for men and woman. I'll have to try and remember that if I ever go on a date." Todd had asked girls out, but usually got turned down. Shaking his head, he grinned. "Fabio is pretty fabulous."
The mood changed a little as Todd could hear the sincerity of her gratitude in her voice as she spoke of her best friend. When he turned to look at her, she was smiling, so he didn't worry too much. The rest of her answers were sweet, like she was. "I wish I had a friend like yours." Albert was a good friend, but sometimes Todd felt like Albert didn't understand him and treated him more like a service project than a friend. As much as he liked Sandy-- the fact that he was spending his evening with a stranger made him feel like Sandy saw him the same way Albert did. I'm not really a total mess-- am I?

She nodded. "She was a very good friend." She then heard him fall silent. She turned her head to look at him, and he seemed to be deep in thought. His expression even seemed... a bit sad. She put her hand on his arm comfortingly. "You're friends seem very nice too." She suddenly realized what she had done, and quickly retracted her hand. "S-sorry. It's a habit..." With her few close friends, she always did that to comfort them. Her mother said it showed how much you cared about someone. She turned her head to look out the window.

Todd pulled into the parking lot and turned to Amy as she touched his arm, trying to comfort him. "They do-- and they are nice. Maybe it's just me." Amy's touch hadn't bothered him until she retracted it and shied away. Blushing, he smiled and shook his head. "It's okay. You can touch me." The second he said it, he realized how wrong it sounded. "I mean-- it's just my arm." To his relief, he got a text message and was glad to give it his attention.
He smiled at the prospect of game night with Albert. "Looks like we're still on for game night." It was good to know that Albert was thinking of him. He shot him a text back and smiled up at Amy. "We're here!"
Text: BOTH! Let's make it 5:00pm. I'll bring pizza.

She didn't really have time to react to his words before he tried to clear things up. She giggled, just glad he wasn't upset with her. She heard his phone go off, and turned her face away when he pulled it out. She didn't want him to think she was nosy, which she sometimes could be. It depends on what it is. She turns back to him when he said game night was still on. "Great!" Here? She looked out the window to see where "here" was.

"Basilique norte-dame de la garde. The basilica of Our Lady of the guard. It is an old churc dedicated to The Virgin Mary. Which just happens to be the highest natural elevation in Marseille. 490 feet tall. I thought we'd start our adventure at the highest point and work our way down. Are you afraid of heights?" Todd asked, taking the pales and hopping out of the jeep. He came around to her side and opened the door for her. "My lady..." He bowed and offered a hand down.

"Well that's a mouthfull." She giggled. "Umm, a little bit. But, I'm sure I'll be fine." Her door was soon opened. A light blush came to her cheeks. Taking his hand, she landed on the ground. "Thank you, kind sir." She decided to play along with it.

"I'm friends with one of the security guards here." Smiling happily, Todd shut the door behind her and walked with her toward one of the side doors. "It is. Lots of old things have long names around here. It's pretty silly. Do you speak any French?" Amy had only just moved here, so he was curious.

"Really? That's cool." She imagined, with his personality, he'd have tons of friends.. "No, I don't. But, my dad wants me to learn." She replied with a slight smile. There were a lot of things he wanted her to do. She looked towards the pales. "Oh! I'm sorry. Here, let me carry one." She grabbed one from his hand.

"I could teach you." He offered. "French is my first language, after all." Todd let Amy carry her own pail when she offered. "How considerate of you!" He laughed, knocking on the side door.
The door opened and an old man's face popped out the side. "Hello--- TODD! Where have you been? I miss our talks! Come in!" He stepped aside and ushered them to enter. "And who is this beautiful girl you've brought with you?""Bill, this is Amy. Amy just moved here from the states. I'm showing her around. Amy, this is Bill. I worked her part time last summer." He introduced them cheerfully. It was always wonderful to see Bill."How much is he paying you?" Bill asked with a grin. "You're not his girlfriend are you?""HA HA HA. No-- Amy is not my girlfriend. And she's here because she was blackmailed. Well, only a little." He explained with a chuckle.
