Sauron had convinced his daughter to come out and do some exploring with him, there were some new wild critters he was itching to get a look at and who better to take then his little girl? He chuckled and mock raced into the bush calling back to Vep to "Catch me!" His voice saturated with glee at their game. This was fun! Getting out and doing something exciting for once, he hoped he wasn't becoming an old dad, AKA the kind that kind of sat around leaving all the fun to others. Nope! He was a fun Dad with hobbies! The best kind. "Veeeepyyy~ Come get meeee."

Vepkhia's head poked out from behind a tree when she heard her father's voice. She had been trying to work on her endurance and stamina before they left for Oba so she could make sure she could actually MAKE the trip to Oba. She smiled as she heard Sauron. He could be so childish sometimes, not that Vep minded, she loved her Dad. Not being one to back down from a challenge, her smile grew wider as she dashed off towards the voice but had to slow down as she quickly became tired. "I will catch you Daddy, it's only a matter of time!!" She had determination that was for sure.

Sauron tried unsuccesfuly to stuff his broad shoulders into a tree bowl so that Vep could find him, at this rate it would take forever, mores the better, she was clever, she probably wouldn't overshoot him very far, so he would have to be clever too, he took big breathes to slow his breathing later when it was needed. He grew quiet, very quiet and peered out into the forest waiting for her to pounce. She was practicing for Oba and he was so proud, there was more determination stuffed into his little daughter then most people had. He wiggled in excitement.

This young girl always tried to pay attention when they went out so when her father stopped, the sudden disappearance of the sound of a second set of feet running was noticeable to her. Vepkhia's brow creased as she tried to think of where her father could have gone. Up into the trees? Surely she would have heard something if that was the case. Most of the time when they were in the trees they weren't completely silent so no that couldn't be it. Was he just hiding? She smiled, that had to be the case. She knelt down to study the forest floor. Her father was pretty good about not leaving tracks but still the forest would give him up. Vep followed what she could to a rather large tree before jumping around to the other side. "BOO." She said with a smile.

Sauron jumped despite himself when she jumped in front of him. Then he snatched her off her feet and tickled her, "Ha, you scared me you little turd come here give Daddy some love, he rubbed her hair with the palm of his hand messing it up, knowing full well he would be fixing it for her later if she so chose. He heard a rustling sound and something slithered onto his shoulder, he shrieked and carried his daughter with him away from the crystal snake that had been trying to escape the hole he had effectively plugged up. "That was unpleasant, please don't tell Mommy I scream higher then she does."

Vepkhia swatted at his hand when he started to mess up her hair. She made sure to try and smooth it down again and readjust her flower so that it wouldn't fall out. It was what happened next that really startled her. Suddenly her father screamed like a little girl and picked her up and started running off. Vep hadn't seen what came crawling out of the tree until after they were a safe distance away. "What's in it for me if I don't tell her?" She said in a sassy tone, she was mostly kidding though. When stopped, she peered around her father to see this giant worm...snake? creeping out of the hole her father had just been hiding in. "You're lucky it didn't attack you daddy!" Her head was tilted as she looked at the strange thing.

"It was on me, but I don't think it had any nefarious plots to eat me," Sauron peered curiously at the snake which peered curiously back at him. "What do you think it wants? I betcha Seze could walk over and read its mind. Shes cool like that, me not so much. It's lucky you were there Vep or I would have clubbed it...maybe." He probably would have run screaming..longer if she hadn't been there. The snake slithered closer tilted its head, Sauron took a step toward it and it retreated into the grass. "Should we follow it? Or hide?"

"Well we're lucky it didn't have any evil plans. We're kinda fond of having you around Dad." Veppy teased. She knew her sister was good with the beasts, but not that she was kinda better at it than her daddy! She'd have to ask Seze how she did it. Maybe it was a female thing in their family!! Something they could do that their brothers couldn't, she thought with a smile. Vepkhia watched as the snake slithered off after her dad got too close apparently. "We've never seen one here and you've lived in Juahar all your life right daddy? Which means we should follow it!"Duke Edward Drake Finally a tag for you, my very busy ed. <3

Sauron looked at his daughter with so much love, "Okay, let's follow it. You lead." He placed a hand on her shoulder. He was so proud of his girl, she was strong and adventurous and his..did he mention his? "Lets see how that snake stacks up to you, I'm sure you can find it as long as you are patient and quiet. Me I'm big and imposing, it might underestimate you, and no one ever should so you should go teach it." Honestly, he was full of so much love.

"Okay!" Vepkhia said as she started off in the direction she had seen the snake slither off. If her dad wasn't here with her, she likely wouldn't have gone chasing after the snake. Even if it was Kressy with her. But she knew she would be safe with her father. Tracking was much easier when it was something she was familiar with. She'd never seen these snake things before so it make it more difficult to try and find it. Vep didn't really know what signs to look for or what sounds to try and hear. As they moved along, however, she started to notice a few things. There was a slight part in the underbrush. Or the light imprint on the soft earth. It would be possible to track them like her father had said: with patience and quietness. However, quietness was hard for the young shifter sometimes. "Where do you think it came from Daddy?" She asked, her voice lowered in an attempt to stay quiet.

"I think it came from that Yaeli place in a box, maybe it was someone's pet that escaped before it was truly tame, or perhaps it is trying to return to them, you've seen how loyal our radaku are, this creature could be the same, the question may be who has it lost?" Sauron tilted his head, "Its not fair that a creature from somewhere else should be better at hiding in our forest then we are at finding it in our forest. "Odd how things work out sometimes isn't it my daughter?" Sauron peered under bushes crouching on his feet and dipping his head down to look.

"Maybe our forests are similar to it's natural habitat and that's why it's so good at hiding! It seems to be doing okay though out here by itself." It was almost as if the creature agreed with her as she tracked it to another tree like her father had been hidden in. The snake creature was curled up inside the tree, defensively but not aggressively. "Perhaps we should just leave it here. I feel bad doing that if it is someone'e pet but I wouldn't know how to care for it or even begin to capture it." Vepkhia took a few steps back from the tree and sat down facing the snake to observe it. Duke Edward Drake Only one more post form each of us in this one now too <3

"I think your right, we will just have to get your sister to do some research on it, do you think you can draw it when we get home for her? You know how she likes to have that sketch book full of critter pictures. I'd offer but you have more artistic skill then me." He peered over his youngest daughters head at the snake. It was cool looking, he didn't think it would be all that hard to catch but he didn't fancy getting bitten either. Best to leave it alone. "Its a cool looking creature, I'll give it that much, but I think I prefer the ones with fur. What do you think?" "It will be time to head back soon, food does not cook itself you know."

"Okay!" Vepkhia took a small book out from her pack and started drawing the creature. Her artwork wasn't great, and she wouldn't really say she was better than her father was in artistic things but if he wanted her to do the drawing then the drawing would get done! She bit her bottom lip in concentration as she sketched, Seze would want as good of a picture as she could get. "As long as it's not creepy crawly I don't mind it." She said childishly. "What are you going to make for dinner Daddy?" The drawing was almost done and she tapped the pencil on her cheek as she looked at the snake and tried to see if there was anything she missed. "Okay I think we can go home now!" Vep said as she stood and put her little book away. Her hand slipped it's way around her father's as she looked up at him expectantly.
