It seemed a festive merchanty time of year and Sauron though he would get in on the action. He gathered up some of his pottery and some of the fresh flowers he had fathered for sale. He was taking a deserved break from the moss. Flowers sold faster as they were much easier to look at, they also had immediate and obvious use as aesthetics. It was a bright, fine, sunny day, a a perfect day for a market, unless you were a fresh cut flower. He wrapped the blooms and their stem in damp cloth for transport before heading out the door. He stepped out quickly, the sooner he got the flowers there, the sooner they might sell and the higher quality product would be associated with his name. Not that he was going to be a merchant full time, he was a tad busy for that, but as a hobby it was alright. He was never a true craftsman; he could barely carve and when he swung a hammer it was to tenderize tough meat not to shape metal. No doubt if he tried he would get a misshapen piece of metal looking vaguely like meat. He chucked at the thought and startled a fellow wanderer, he waved them off assuring them that he wasn't loosing his marbles.
The market came into sight and Sauron hurried over to an empty stall and set up his delicate, floral wares. Once he had everything arranged to his satisfaction he sat on the stool with a contented sigh. Merchanting was like fishing, except he could see and talk to the fish here. Initially all he attracted was young shifters. So cute nad even younger than his own children. He was bemused that youth would be attracted to flowers first, seeing as they were predisposed to picking flowers in the first place. He sold a small blue flower to a little girl who was buying it for her mother. That made him smile, he had enabled one sweet thing today, whih was excellent, mission accomplished. After that the children dispersed going after cakes and the like. Sauron perked up when someone else approached. This someone looked like no one he had ever seen before and to his delight they matched the description of a Yaelian.
"Welcome! What may I do for your?" He asked pleasantly trying to hide his excitement with banter.
"Well I was looking for something for my wife, we just moved seem and its been a bit of a shock for all of us, so I thought what better way to calm her nerves then with flowers right? So here I am."
"Well you won't find any fresher, I picked them myself just this morning."
"Fantastic," said the Yaelian, "You don't mind if I have myself a look see do you?"
"Not at all, go right ahead," replied Sauron.
The yaelian browsed through the flowers and Sauron couldn't help but stare, not only was he doing buisness but he got to meet his frist Yaelian in the process. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but do your eyes really glow?"
"They do indeed but only on our island, not sure why they don't do it here, does your skin really change color?"
"It sure does every day and every night, you get used to it but I reccomened memorizing crystal patterns for the first while, its the best way to help keep track of shifters when you are new. I'm sure you will get plenty of attention too, being from new place and all. Don't believe everything they say though not all shifters are honest ye ken."
"Isn't that the way of it." The yaelian grinned. "I'll be sure to be careful as you say, at least here though there is less chance of the children being eaten...isn't there?"
"Keep them out of the forest and you should be just fine, not to worry; the menzuri, dretch and radaku mostly stick to the bush I have found. Although you might see a few pets around, just keep the children back unless you have checked with the owner." Everywhere has its dangerous critters, Jauhar was no different. The man bought a few flowers and left. At least she was warned about the dangers here now. No doubt he would learn more in time too. Sauron sold most of his stok that day. The leftovers graced his home with their gentle presence and he could tell his family of the Yaelian he had sen today while he had been out flower mongering.
