Padded toes sunk into the soft peat marsh where Cirque often went to meditate on her latest get rich quick scheme. Sure, the mare Glitch made a fearsome attraction for her show, but one freak alone did not a show make. Tapping a claw against a well worn rock, the tiger-like mare knew what she needed and it was MORE! More oddballs to entertain the masses, more freaks to be gawked at. She needed talent and she needed spectacle if she was going to get this show on the road.

The problem was, where could she find it? One didn't just stumble onto a goldmine of oddities on their walk home. Sure, she could go visit a herd and just hope some member was weird enough that they were an outcast amongst the group and would be fine with relocating. But, what was the likelihood of that? No one was going to just let her prowl around sniffing about the weirdos that they were ashamed of being related to.

The mare paced angrily in circles, mud accumulating between her toes as she wore down a path through the bog. The frustration was enough to make her want to scream. Instead her tail flicked in annoyance as her eyes searched for something to give her that spark of an idea.

And there was nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

The orange mare gave a growl as she stomped her way out of the mush, none too pleased with the results of her brooding. Just how was she going to achieve her dream without anyone entertaining to help her form her troupe?

His short tail flicked slightly as he trotted along, his mind thinking about everything and yet nothing all at once. It wouldn't make sense to most, but it did for him. 'Why don't you just try to find some mare to shack up with or something? At least do something fun.. How boring you are sometimes. The dark presence made itself known to him and he rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up will you... " He muttered to the voice that only he was able to hear. It was quite annoying at times, hearing someone no one else did. It was even more annoying because he NEVER went away. 'You're going to be stuck with me forever. It taunted in response to his thoughts. Which induced nothing but an eye roll from DarkHeart.

As he was padding along he realized he hadn't been paying too much attention to the fact that he was non in the presence of another and he gazed upwards and stopped in his tracks as he noted her demeanor. She didn't' look to be having such a good day. Her paws were what drew his attention the most. How peculiar.
'Hey look, there you go. You could hook up with her. I bet it would be a fun time.' He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Just drop it." He muttered as he approached the female.

"Hello, how are you doing? You seem to be a little troubled." He said as he came within a decent talking distance. However he didn't get to close, her paws kinda threw him off a little. Not that he was afraid, but you never know with those with claws.

Ohhh? Now what was this? Her pink tongue ran along her fangs as she looked him over. At first glance the stallion seemed rather normal, although his chest did seem rather promising. But, would it be enough to attract an audience? She purred to herself as she thought it over, trying to imagine how she could lure in the crowds. She could almost see it now... Come see the stallion with the- With the what? Was having a sort of spooky chest interesting enough to hold anyone's curiosity? Nope. The mare gave a grunt as she set the idea aside. Back to the drawing board.

"See something you like, pal?" Cirque smirked, raising a pawed foot to idly examine a claw. His gaze wasn't hard to notice and she could only assume his preoccupation was caused by the usual reaction to her appearance, fear. Tooth and nail were generally associated with one thing and for good reason. What else could they be for other than to prey on the flesh of others? Certainly his distraction was simply his fixation with her more deadly attributes, not something deeper under his own surface.

"I'm a gal with business problems," she sighed, dipping her head dramatically. "You don't happen to have something shiny you could spare a poor girl?"

At her words he came from his mild trance and shook his head slightly. 'Oh you know I like, why not try and chase that tail. The voice teased almost figuratively in a way. "Would you just knock it off..." He muttered under his breath. He gave her a slight smile. "If you're asking if I'm taking an admiration to your looks, then I suppose you could say yes. I was also slightly concerned about the nature of your claws. One can never be to careful you know." He said as he approached her. She wasn't much larger than him but that wasn't an issue for him at all. He watched her as she lifted a paw and examined it. She was attractive, but mares like that weren't attracted to him. At least not that he knew of.

As he got closer to her he listened as she said she had business problems. "Ah, that can put a damper on things." His response was sincere, maybe there was something he could do to help? When she asked her question of course the voice would interject.
'Oh we have something to give her alright, but it's not shiny. Come on, I bet if you offered she wouldn't say no.' The voice teased and taunted him. He wanted to respond so bad but he couldn't, not in front of her. It made him grimace almost. But he shook it off. "No, I'm afraid not... What seems to be the issue you are having?" He asked her curiously.

Her ears swiveled, giving the occasional flick as she listened to him. Her eyes kept drifting towards his chest. There was just something so fascinating about it, it couldn't help but draw her gaze. Maybe there was something to it. Maybe. But, would she be able to convince him to join her employment? Perhaps a little... Flirting could help convince him.

"Oh?" She smirked as she gave a wiggle of her toes. They never failed to draw attention, though usually people found the teeth a bit more concerning. They certainly did come in handy when one felt like something meaty. "I suppose i should say thank you," she winked, tail curling into slow figure eights. With a laugh the mare grinned down at her feet. "Smart choice, but don't worry. I won't scratch. Unless... You're planning on giving me a reason to?"

"You see, I'm a performer. I go around from herd to herd and put on a little show." Her eyes narrowed as she started to circle him. "Which, is going pretty well, i guess. However, I only have one mare working with me, so there really isn't much of a show yet." Cirque gave a pout as she stopped in front of the stallion, doing her best to look teary eyed. He looked like someone who'd want to help a damsel in distress, right? "I really need to find more talented individuals so i can put on the best show ever," and make more money.

He watched her, curiously and the presence within him was loving her. She was a saucy one and DarkHeart was well aware of her nature as well. It was true, she was a lively one but still, there was always more than meets the eye when it came to everyone. Even DarkHeart himself. He wasn't a fool by any means and gave her a sly one sided grin at her remarks. "Perhaps I like it a little rough. And no worries, I'd let you know if there were to be a reason to let you sink you claws into my hide." He said teasing her a little. 'There you go, finally bringing some life to this party, thought I would die from boredom..' The voice taunted and he grumbled slightly to himself. He could only answer him vocally, he'd tried to do it mentally but it never worked. It was almost impossible to speak internally to the voice. So this was proving to be most difficult for him with it ever present like this.

So she was a performer. "You wouldn't happen to be an exotic dancer now would you?" He said raising an eyebrow but completely jesting with her. He was aware of what type of performance she was talking about but he could still remark now and again. "That does sound like quite the issue." He said as he kept his eyes focused on her own as she circled him and then stood in front of him with a pout upon her face. She was quite the actress, but his voice always told him what was up just like he was smart enough to know how bribing went.
'So you're not entirely incapable. Maybe things will get interesting yet. Maybe she'll give you a few scratches.' The thought almost made him shiver, he wasn't the type to like it that rough, though the thought of it was appealing a little. As nice as he was, there was a slightly twisted side to him that even he had yet to figure out. "I wouldn't mind tagging along to help you out a bit, perhaps even help you find performers, but I can honestly say, I'm really not that talented..." Though who knew what type of talent she was looking for.

He was just a weirdo who talked to himself and could heal relatively well, amongst other things. His green eyes stayed on hers. "What is it you think that I can do for you that would in turn, help me?" He asked her keeping eye contact the whole time. He'd help her regardless, he was still wondering what buttons he could or could not push with her.

Oh, how feisty. Cirque quirked an eyebrow, quite amused by his response. Most stallions weren't quite so... Forward. The mare couldn't help but laugh, "Oh? Would you now?" She craned her neck towards him and gave a wink. If this stallion wanted to play with danger then who was she to stop him? Not that she was much of a threat. It was extremely rare for her to even consider taken a chunk out of someone literally. Figuratively? Now that was something else entirely. "I think most would rather hide it. Never know how much damage these babies will do if you upset me."
...
"Exotic dancer? Now that's a new one." Her ears pined back against her head and her nostrils flared as she gave a snort. Flexing her toes, she considered it. "Maybe i'll have to see if i can find one of those for my troupe. Would you like to fill that role, big boy?" The mare's lips pressed into a tight line as her brow furrowed. Not talented? That was quite disappointing. Of course it wouldn't be her luck to just find someone straight away. A pity though, given he did look somewhat promising.

A small frown played across her face as the stallion asked for something in return. Of course she couldn't expect to keep all the profits for herself, but a girl could dream. "Hmmm, well..." Her eyes darted over to him as she paced out a small circle in the muck. "I suppose you'd be expecting a cut of the profits... Or are you asking for a different kind of favor?"

He liked this mares company. He wondered if he should let her know he spoke to a voice in his head. Not mentally speak, but vocally. She seemed the kind that would take that kind of news with a shrug. It appeared to him that she was looking for someone with oddities, but he definitely wasn't the type of odd she was looking for. 'How do you know what kind of odd she's looking for? And who say's you and I are odd Darky? Please, if anything we give the world a little more uniqueness because there isn't anyone like you Dark... There is only one you.' The voice said to him and he shook his head with a small sigh. "Your claws aren't much to scare me away. If anything they fascinate me greatly." He said to her as she talked about the damage they could inflict. No doubt a great deal.

When she made a question out of his jest he wondered if she knew he was joking with her. "I'm sure having one in your Troupe would draw in a bit of a crowd, but your looks alone are exotic and should drawn one easily." He said with a wink. "I don't think these hooves would captivate an audience the way nimble toes would." He said with a slight chuckle. 'Oh dear god, your killing me in here. Won't you say anything to me in front of her? Are you afraid someone else might judge you for being weird and call you names.' The voice taunted rather crudely at him causing him to clench his teeth. He looked at her and let out a sigh. "Forgive me for one moment.." He said and looked away from her when he spoke. "Would you just knock it off already. There! Are you happy? I said something to you.. Now leave me be." He said before turning his attention to her. 'See, that wasn't so hard now was it? I'm sure things are just going to continue to go smoothly now between you and that lively temptress before us. Seriously you should let her sink her claws into you, if only for my sake.' The voice had a very interesting taste in what it liked and sometimes he obliged it, but often enough he ignored it.

When she asked if he wanted part of the profits or another other favors he shook his head, though the thought was slightly appealing. "I wasn't looking for a cut of the profits, or really any kind of favor, I was just curious what I would get being part of your troupe. Travel? Meeting strange folks that could cause me to weave a tale that one had ever heard?" He asked with a small grin upon his maw. He figured she was going to grow tired of him soon, if the outburst with him and his voice hadn't already made her want to turn away from him.

"How brave of you," the tigress chortled, stirring up the dirt with a toe. "What is it about them that fascinates you might i ask? Is it the thrill of potential?" Her tongue ran over her fangs, she herself received chills whenever she caught sight of someone she could see as having interesting capabilities. Maybe in that way they were the same.

It was a nice compliment, but it still made the mare sigh. The words reminding her of just how much of a failure she felt like whenever the audience wasn't satisfied. She and Glitch could only do so much to wow a crowd. Neither of them had much in the way of interesting talents and coasting by off their strange looks alone wasn't going to keep them afloat for long. "Toes only pique interest for a few moments and then the intrigue fades. More and more of us seem to have toes nowadays."

Her ears swiveled as she tilted her head, leaning to try to see who the stallion was talking to as he turned away from her to talk to someone out of view. "Hmmm? What was that?" She purred, tail twitching as her curiosity was piqued.

"Well of course i travel," the mare burst out laughing. "I think the herds around here would grow rather bored of seeing the same show over and over again."

User ImageWhat fascinated him about her claws? Everything really, that and the fact he had nothing but ordinary hooves. He looked at his feet for a moment and then at hers and then returned his gaze to her own. "The fact you have toes and the ability to move them at will is a starter, but you add the claws and it's like you have your own personal knives." The danger of them allured him and he gave her a small smile. As far as he could remember he hadn't met someone with paws before, but he was familiar with stories of pawed ones. He heard a thing or two in his young years. 'Pffft... In your young years. You're thinking as if you're an old goat already....' He ignored him.

Listening to her comment he nodded. So it would seem her words were true, pawed ones weren't just subjected to the tales of Walkers anymore, they were becoming a tad more frequent upon the lands of the Kawani, but did that truly make them any less interesting? His thoughts were stolen away at her question about his comment to the 'wonderful' voice of his. He emphasized wonderful hoping the voice would catch on that he found him trying at times. With a swallow he gave an odd half smile. "Well.." He started before he was so rudely interrupted internally.
'Can't you at least think of a suave way to tell her about us? Don't start off with just Well... You disgrace m- us! Well mostly me, or rather you. Since I am you and you are me. We're just two peas in a pod aren't we? At least you could give us a grand introduction of sorts and not some poor excuse of a 'he's a voice only I hear.' I know that's what you were going to say! I know your thoughts even before you do.' The voice droned on and he rolled his eyes then and snorted. "I don't have time for you and your grandeur's, bugger off already." He muttered in a rather annoyed voice.

"As I was saying, I have a particular ailment that has left me with a particularly chatty fellow that only I can hear..." He figured that was probably the most grandeur way of saying he was completely mad. "Happy?" He muttered again.
'Yes, and you should speak up a little, I can't hear you when you mutter.' He taunted with a laugh and Dark just sighed and gave her another half smile. He was honestly prepared to leave, though something told him she wasn't going to be as off put as some of the others that had encountered him in a conversational moment with himself.
